  1. I'm hoping for at least 7,000 seats. But Gonzaga's new basketball arena sits 6,000 & it's a nice looking facility. I'm assuming we want to include loges in our design. I'm also assuming the loges would be located between an upper level and the floor level. If those assumptions are correct, even a 6,000-seat facility would look much bigger than Gonzaga's (no loges). I just really want our arena to have a "big time" feel to it. Something that really impresses. They hit a grand slam with the Info (I'll never get over Ianello ruining our football program at the most inopportune time). I'm sure the trustees would desire a similar "wow" factor when building a new arena. Many people in the community, myself included, really only have contact with UA through football & basketball (and soccer).
  2. Love the gold jerseys. Beautiful & unique. My favorite jerseys of all time were the golds they used to break out when Dru, Rome & Wood were playing.
  3. Saturday's game was probably the best I've seen Zeke play. He's improved tremendously. He really did look like a future NBA player out there.
  4. I don't know about pink/lavender. But I do know that Ken.t's court has an extremely yellow hue. Almost like they use shellac on the floor. It's been like that for years. In fact, Ken.t's yellow uni's almost blend into the color of the court like Boise's blue blends into their smurf-turf football field.
  5. While at the game I thought Gilliam should have played more but was the unfortunate victim of KD's quirky substitution patterns. But watching the game again at home (DVR) you could see CG was sucking wind when KD brought him to the bench. Maybe CG will be back to normal by Wednesday.
  6. It's truly just a cultural difference. UA hasn't developed much of a culture where students naturally attend games. Don't ask me why or how one would go about doing this. Home games against name non-conference opponents and occasional Sweet 16 runs would probably do the trick.
  7. Just bought my 3 tickets. They're charging $20 GA for the Akron game. All other games' GA tickets are $12.
  8. It does. I don't know what I was doing wrong. It was definitely User Error.
  9. Well done. I'm going to the game. Taking a few friends. Hope the Zips come out focussed & make the MAC Center a very quiet venue.
  10. Michael Beaven / ABJ article on Jerome's verbal. Btw, Michael lists Jerome @ 6'5", 210.
  11. GT on Nick Harney Hope the link works. Still have occasional trouble inserting links from my Mac.
  12. I'm as big an Akron/UA/LeBron fan as anyone. However, LBJ doesn't have that kind of money. It needs to be a company sponsorship. LBJ may be able to afford naming rights for the court, but not an arena. My heart sank a little bit when I heard of FirstEnergy paying for the Cleveland Brown's Stadium naming rights. They were my best bet for a big endorsement.
  13. 3,800 seats? That just can't possibly be accurate. Can it? I'm absolutely shocked. And extremely disappointed.
  14. I'm not sure how I missed this when you posted, but yes, any updates would be great! Thank you. Go Zips!
  15. This is truly awful and not entertaining in the least. About 3 minutes left in the game and EMU is up on CMU 45-35. Horrible.
  16. Amen! Along with JZ84, I was really crossing my fingers about landing Jerome. Go Zips!
  17. And I'd like one of Romeo. And Dru.
  18. Actually, I would! But I'm definitely showing early for a LeBron bobblehead. The chance that the world's most famous athlete happens to be an Akronite and a supporter of the Zips is one-in-a-billion. We'd be complete fools not to take every advantage of that.
  19. Uh, oh. Looks like something happened to Aaron Jackson? According to the above link, it doesn't appear he's played in their last 3 games.
  20. Will he have 2 or 3 years to play? Will he redshirt next year (AA's senior season) since we'll already have AA & Melo @ the 1?
  21. Thaaaaank you.
  22. ^^You heard Frenchy & Joe Dunn talking during halftime of tonight's webcast.
  23. Any insights/opinions from those in attendance?
  24. Strangely, yes. We've been wondering the same for a number of years.
  25. Wow. Excellent article & insight into the Rob Parker incident.
