  1. Well done. I'm going to the game. Taking a few friends. Hope the Zips come out focussed & make the MAC Center a very quiet venue.
  2. Michael Beaven / ABJ article on Jerome's verbal. Btw, Michael lists Jerome @ 6'5", 210.
  3. GT on Nick Harney Hope the link works. Still have occasional trouble inserting links from my Mac.
  4. I'm as big an Akron/UA/LeBron fan as anyone. However, LBJ doesn't have that kind of money. It needs to be a company sponsorship. LBJ may be able to afford naming rights for the court, but not an arena. My heart sank a little bit when I heard of FirstEnergy paying for the Cleveland Brown's Stadium naming rights. They were my best bet for a big endorsement.
  5. 3,800 seats? That just can't possibly be accurate. Can it? I'm absolutely shocked. And extremely disappointed.
  6. I'm not sure how I missed this when you posted, but yes, any updates would be great! Thank you. Go Zips!
  7. This is truly awful and not entertaining in the least. About 3 minutes left in the game and EMU is up on CMU 45-35. Horrible.
  8. Amen! Along with JZ84, I was really crossing my fingers about landing Jerome. Go Zips!
  9. And I'd like one of Romeo. And Dru.
  10. Actually, I would! But I'm definitely showing early for a LeBron bobblehead. The chance that the world's most famous athlete happens to be an Akronite and a supporter of the Zips is one-in-a-billion. We'd be complete fools not to take every advantage of that.
  11. Uh, oh. Looks like something happened to Aaron Jackson? According to the above link, it doesn't appear he's played in their last 3 games.
  12. Will he have 2 or 3 years to play? Will he redshirt next year (AA's senior season) since we'll already have AA & Melo @ the 1?
  13. Thaaaaank you.
  14. ^^You heard Frenchy & Joe Dunn talking during halftime of tonight's webcast.
  15. Any insights/opinions from those in attendance?
  16. Strangely, yes. We've been wondering the same for a number of years.
  17. Wow. Excellent article & insight into the Rob Parker incident.
  18. George, give us your prediction for the game. Sadly, I'm going to have to say Creighton wins 70-60 as we go on one of our patent 10-minute second-half scoring droughts.
  19. And that 6'9" power forward - Kwan Cheatham - is a "stretch-4." From what I've read he's got a really nice stroke from 3. And he just recently turned 17, so he's very young for his class - huge upside. (We may redshirt him & let him mature physically for another year?)
  20. The lack of information on last year's non-qualifiers (if that's even what they were) is puzzling. All the more so due to the fact that just a couple of days ago I emailed GT asking if he could write an article on KD's incoming b-ball recruits, and just a few days later we were given a full-length, in-depth article on all four. In an earlier email to GT, I requested information on these guys, and a number of ZNO members have been wondering about our football recruits for months now. But no information. Is TB being tight-lipped about the status of these players? Why does it seem so difficult to get information on the guys we all thought signed LOI's last February?
  21. Great article! I'd like to give a shout out to GT. A few days ago I emailed George & asked if he could give a breakdown of UA's recent recruits. Thanks George, this was a great article! Much appreciated. Just wanted to let ZNO know we've got a responsive beat writer! (I also asked if he might consider keeping tabs on the stats these guys put up this year & posting their box score lines on his blog. Often, trying to find high school stats/box scores online is pretty difficult. Maybe I'm just not looking in the right place. So maybe we'll have occasional updates to look forward to.)
  22. Well, I'm going to try to post two links from my Mac. Pretty sure they won't work. The FIRST was posted on George Thomas' Zips Blog yesterday. Excellent, outstanding, thoughtful, critical piece of work. We haven't had someone write about the Zips this way in years. He dissected the MTSU game & was critical of the Zips rebounding and free throw shooting. He also mentions the Zips pressure defense. Additionally, he notes his disappointment in only 2,700 showing for the game. He sarcastically remarks that the low attendance figure could be due to going up against the overwhelming excitement of a Cleveland Browns game. I love it! The SECOND is a very nice article on Brian Walsh. [Edit]: The links work!!!
  23. Thank you. We often want our cake and to eat it too.
