  1. According to the Plain Dealer article, turns out UMass is going to play their home game in Gillette Stadium (Patriots home) in Foxboro, far east of Amherst. "UMass will play its home games off campus in the NFL Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. nearly 100 miles away from its campus. UMass AD John McCutcheon said Gillette will be "our primary home for quite some time." Hmm. Worse than UConn. UConn is in Storrs, but plays their home football games in Hartford - about 30 miles from campus.
  2. He's not listed on the men's coaching staff page @ GoZips.com. And knowing GoZips.com there's no way they've updated it already. GoZips.com
  3. I was killing some time on GoZips.com and just thought this was interesting. Look at our Women's Tennis roster & where the ladies are from: Anya Baronayte - St. Petersburg, Russia Jeremie Benjamin - Indianapolis, Indiana Zara Harutyunyan - Yerevan, Armenia Angelika Jogasuria - Serpong, Indonesia Angelina Jogasuria - Serpong, Indonesia Natalia Kuvakina - St. Petersburg, Russia Prang Pantusart - Amphur Muang, Nonthaburi, Thailand Quite cool, but, what on earth? Doesn't Hudson churn out enough girls' tennis players?
  4. +1. Good to see it back at UA and the JAR. Some of the top high school prospects in the nation will be walking around our campus. I remember I was able to see Zeke play in the rec center during his junior year.
  5. If A.J. Price is as good as we're all hoping, we really might have an excellent receiving corps this year.
  6. That's what I was thinking. If we can't contain our own offense, those guys in Cowlumbus will just run right over us. It was also a defense that was missing 4 starters and wasn't really allowed to do much of anything because it was a spring game. Joe Bauserman looks to be the starter at OSU while Pryor is out. Pathetic doesn't even describe how awful he is. I would stack the box and make them beat us by throwing the ball. Stoneburner will be tough to defend at TE and Chris Fields will be very good. Their running game scares me, but Bauserman doesn't. I don't care who he has as receivers, he couldn't hit anyone last year. Don't forget, they were recording QB sacks simply by touching the QB. So, they had plenty of advantages that they wouldn't get under normal circumstances too. Giving up 550 years during a continuous-clock scrimmage to our offense should be ALARMING at this point of the year, when offenses tend to have very little continuity. I just don't get the lack of concern. 550 years, really, I swear sometimes I can't believe what I read here. I think that this year will be very interesting. The buckeyes are without a doubt hurt not only emotionally but physically what with losing not only there five best players which will have a trickle down effect. But when you lose your Head Coach it will effect them. If we can come out with a sense of urgency and if everyone can know there job and execute there job it will and can be interesting. We have nothing to lose, we are not expected to win so let's go out and have some fun and shock the world! Go Zips! Beware the Zipmeister.
  7. I agree. I've always thought that I would much rather be charged with turning a basketball program around rather than football. Get three stud players and you've got a good basketball squad. EMU, with their beautiful arena and proximity to Detroit's basketball talent really should, IMHO, be more of a force than they are.
  8. Story from the ABJ.
  9. Isn't it usually pretty tough for an incoming QB to unseat a returning starter, even if the newcomer is better? Do you think Nicely will have to struggle a bit during the season for Clayton to be put in & get quality PT?
  10. That would be great. I'd love to save my nickles for a nice little vacation that time next year. I'm already giddy with excitement over next season. Though - if I had to bet - we have another somewhat rocky regular season as the newcomers get to know each other and KD works on settling rotations & PT.
  11. This is a great victory. You'd like to think we'd have one of the top golf programs in the midwest, having Firestone C.C. as our home course. Pretty amazing recruiting advantage there.
  12. Did anyone recognize any of the recruits a the Spring Game?
  13. If Nyles Evans decides to walk-on @ UA, do you think that would change our recruiting philosophy for next year?
  14. Please explain.
  15. At 2:00 today the Akron -vs- Columbus State game is on the Big Ten Network. That sucks.
  16. With this program go back to school you can probably walk on and make the team. 6-23, 0-9 in the Mac. They're making the football team look good. WHAT THE HELL??? You posted verbatim what I almost posted yesterday. But I didn't. Why? Because nobody seems to care. Honestly, shouldn't we be upset about this? I thought I was the only ZNO poster that had taken notice.
  17. WR/TE video released today - best video yet, no weather reports , just football including lots of names of players to keep our eyes on. WR coach Frisman Jackson names Marquelo Suel, Keith Sconiers and Antoine Russell as the top 3 receivers. He mentioned that they purposely red-shirted Suel last year. Didn't say why. He did say they were "able to red-shirt" him. And I guess it looks like a good move for our team in going forward as he'll have two years left. Also mentioned Anthony Meriweather as in the mix for PT. Throw in our incoming JUCO WR prospect (I forget his name - he initially signed w/ Penn State - you all know who I'm talking about anyway) and it looks like a solid receiving corps. OC/TE coach John Latina names Richard Hall and Will Flemming as the top 2 TE's. Watching the video, I think Marquelo Suel may have changed his number from #80 to #15?
  18. Two and a half days & this thing is already up to a quarter-of-a-million hits.
  19. I believe he mentions ShelDon Miller with the linebackers?
  20. Today's Spring Football article from the ABJ.
  21. Zips haven't offered yet, but a player that looks like we should keep an eye on is Elijah Macon of Columbus Marion Franklin and who's AAU team is All-Ohio Red. Elijah is a 6-7, 200 lb. PF whom Rivals gives 4-stars and ranks as the #12 PF in the nation. He's only received a single offer thus far, from USC, so grades must be an issue? Here is Elijah Macon's Rivals.com bio.
  22. Good call, Yaznasty.
  23. Here is a link to some LeBron animated series thingy. It was just released on youtube a couple hours ago. It's already had about 41,500 views. Akron gets mentioned in the title song & then again @ the end. For a kids cartoon (it's no Family Guy or American Dad) it's pretty darn good! The LeBrons
  24. From today's ABJ (5/6/11) concerning Spring Ball.
