  1. This is all well and good...and maybe I'll get a little excited if we can pull off a win against a now-believing buffalo team on 4 days rest and a win at 1st place OU, but did anyone else notice the announced attendence of 15,728!?!?! What a joke...I'd say closer to 5,728.
  2. amen to both zipsbandman and ZipsAnalyst. Seeing as the region most of us live in or have lived in is northeast ohio, and following the (whether you predicted it or not) disappointing football season, it's rather difficult to go into this year without at least a little bit of that typical "maybe next year" NE Ohio mentality in the back of your head. Here's to undaunted optimism and an upcoming vicory over Bobby Knight. GO ZIPS!
  3. man...my autographed bobble head is skyrocketing in value. saw JT at BW3s following the spring game this year.
  4. This is what I said two pages ago. I hope this thread sticks around for a couple years so we can look at it when Chuck brings the Lombardi trophy to Cleveland.
  5. um...yeah. it could happen. the rules have recently changed, much to the chagrin of us and other "mid majors." You're right though, it wouldnt happen for at least 3 years...hopefully by then we'll have a new stadium comin...
  6. At the risk of sounding like a jerk here...I had a class with this guy last semester and he sure didnt seem like the hard-working dedicated scholar pictured in this article. When he did show up to class (about 1/2 of the total classes) he sure as heck wasnt prepared. i'm glad he's succeeding on the field, but that boy better plan on working a lot harder to get beyond gen ed. classes and remain scholarship and football eligible.
  7. gotta work.
  8. Here's an idea. Everyone expects instant winning. And that may come from someone out of the draft that's used to playing in front of raucous 100k+ stadiums, home and away. Charlie hasnt even played a full season yet. In fact, he'd never played a home game for more than 30k fans until his first start at Browns Stadium. He has the skills to be a good player in the NFL, excuses aside, let's give him a full year at the helm of this team and reserve our judgement for next year at this point in the season, if the O-Line keeps him alive till then.
  9. hahahah. a ridiculous end to a ridiculous game. 8 days till the baskeball exhibition.
  10. at least we made it interesting...why can we not stop the run when we KNOW it's coming?
  11. had the TE wide open. missed him by about 14ft too high...how can luke be sooo good one second and SOOOO bad the next?
  12. wow...maybe...
  13. At least the defenses are tied at 7...
  14. Defense is awful too. Freshman QB is cutting them up like nothin else. Can we bring in the 2nd stringers there too?
  15. Hmm...14-0...blocked punt...two picks...defensive touchdown for toledo. UGH! i might not have to waste the night watching this. it's like a car crash.
  16. Drove to the 15...Getsy picked off on the 2 yd line. UGH!
  17. Twas on fox sports...game of the week.
  18. It looks like it so far...14-0 Ohio in the 2nd Quarter. ZERO Can't First downs...2 punts for a total of -1 yards. (UNBELIEVABLE)and one fumble in the endzone by the punter...returned out to the 18 by Can't.For today, GO BOBCATS...and as always GO ZIPS!!!!!
  19. I HATE THAT SCHOOL WITH A PASSION.
  20. Yup. How much you wanna bet the Buckeyes "TBA" game against ever-so-sh*tty Illinois gets put at 1:00 and kills attendence for the Zips in a VERY important game. Oh well. Maybe the Big Ten will move the game to 6pm
  21. Early vegas line (10/23) Has the Zips favored by 5 on the road in the (gl)ass bowl. This one scared me at the beginning of the year, and still does though not nearly as much. The Zips will cover that 5. Final score: Akron 27, Toledo 12.
  22. didnt see braylon, kellen, or chuck. did have some zips fans that were also toothlessberger/squeeler fans next to me though. it was weird to unite for a common cause with someone that loves toothlessberger...regardless, one hell of a game. it's nice to finally see a victory over the sweaters 1-7 (1-3). That's an ugly record for a team picked 2nd in the MAC east (235 pts). But then again, so is 3-4 (1-2) for the team picked to win the east GO ZIPS!!
  23. um...which one? *confused*
  24. This is a tough call...Miami is BAD team this year. But, given their history and past success against us, I'm gonna have to go with ZIPS 42, SWEATERS 6.
  25. my girl's lil' bro plays for North also...he's a big O Lineman/D Lineman. His name's Mack Moncrief, he's 6' 2" 275, been gettin looks from the zips and *GULP* K.E.N.T. I told him if he goes to K.E.N.T. I'm gonna have to disown him. He seems like a solid player, city series games seem to be wise to him and most often double team him when he's on the D-Line. Anyone seen him play?
