Not sure where to put this, but I'll throw it here. Is anyone looking to get rid of their Hiram exhibition tickets? I'm looking at taking my 2yr old to his first game and I'd like it to be a "quiet" one. First time in about 10 years I won't have my season tickets. It's getting difficult to justify these games. We'll be 3-4 with 5 games to go. We'll need to go 4-1 to reasonably have a shot at a bowl. We're essentially eliminated from the MAC Championship.

As I mentioned in a previous thread, when there's a big permanent banner ad from a special section called "UA Budget Fallout" on ohio.com, that's all I need to know about how the local "news" feels about the biggest economic driver in greater Summit County. You know, write as much inflammatory bullshit possible, rooting for UA to fail. Can you imagine Akron if that ever happened? The ABJ needs to start with a beat writer with a tie to UA and the area. George Thomas is a suckeye alum that periodically gets a wild hair up his ass and does some research/digs for a story regarding his beat. He should stick to watching every movie ever and then write half-assed reviews on Twitter.

Vegas says Zips lose 30.5 to 22. (ULL -8.5, o/u 52.5). I hate to say it, but if I'm a gambler I take ULL to cover and the under. 22 points for this Zips offense against a real D-1 team is a tough pill to swallow.

I'd buy that except most of the rest of the first team offense was out there still.

So Chapman is back for a 3 and out and a punt after Woodson puts together the best qb play we've seen all year. Makes sense.

That makes sense, but wouldn't they likely file image patents on new logos prior to any name change? Its definitely more complicated than a guy changing the name of a 140 year old school just because he wants to. I also don't see the state board of regents being a pushover and allowing UA to assume the name "Ohio" anything. Their pro-OSU stance is evident enough through the OU-OSU tiffs over that word.

Since UA is a state institution, they likely operate on the state fiscal year. SFY 17 will begin 7/1/16. I'd imagine any name change/patent filings would happen a few months prior to that. Hope some of our local media will be monitoring the US patent office come spring. If so, this would be nearly impossible to sneak through.

Random note, as I haven't seen it mentioned, but the beacon now has a lovely front page graphic on Ohio.com titled "UA Budget Fallout" linking to a pile of stories. While surely some aspects are news, I just don't get how the only truly local news source can root so hard for UA to fail.

This game was largely unwatchable. If Terry Bowden can't win at Akron, who can? Hard not to be pessimistic right now. Absolute zero offense.
