  1. Green Bay beating Valpo puts a monkey wrench into the whole thing. I thought earlier that Valpo was a cinch to get in but they have not played that well down the stretch,
  2. Bye Bye Flashes, see you next year, Thanks for playing and we have some lovely parting gifts for you. Hopefully a contract extension for Rob Senderoff being one of them,
  3. Pleasantly surprised to see Big Dog first team. It's been the year of the the big in the MAC this year.
  4. Probably will be in the minority here but I'd rather go against Toledo. The reason being that I think that Eastern has more natural talent and a higher ceiling. They are certainly not a heady team but when focused and playing well, they can take down anybody in the conference. Yes, Toledo is always a tough out too.Honestly speaking, I'd rather be playing any of the other 6 teams playing tonight than either of these two.
  5. Great run in the OVC by the 8th seeded Govs of Austin Peay. Nice story there as their coach's young granddaughter is suffering from cancer and their guys were extra motivated to play well for her.
  6. I am taking nothing for granted in Cleveland, Toledo seems to be a tough opponent always and beat us already. Eastern gave us all we could handle here and does have some talent and size. They also lead the MAC in technical fouls and tattoos. I do love the fact that we won tonight despite not having our best stuff and that is the mark of a really good team.
  7. I have watched these guys for a few years now and it's almost like watching over my own boys grow, I'd be lying if I said that I don't get emotional on some of our Sr nights, Tonight its guaranteed. I'm proud of them all and more for being great people than being great players. They have represented our school with nothing but class and I'll miss them. My wife is finally ready so off we go......
  8. Anytime I had to visit Spicer I knew it would be a long, long day. Man, I hated that place. I would have paid to swing the wrecking ball just once.
  9. I get the rivalry aspect and the revenge angle of this contest and all of that stuff. Despite that, this could be a classic letdown spot after cutting down the nets Tuesday night. I'd be lying if i said I wasn't worried about this one as the flashes have everything to gain and we do not.
  10. Could well happen with Tava coming back. Western figures to be much better next season
  11. I thought it was nicely officiated for the most part as well. Almost rare these days to see a MAC game with only 22 FT's. They allowed the players to determine the outcome.
  12. Way to step it up Kwan. Big time game tonight.
  13. The Zips opened at -7 yesterday and it's currently at -5 so the Kittens have taken the early money. Very interesting....... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Qf6Sv3A9zs
  14. I believe that you may be mistaken here. The horrible feeds are the ones produced by the university that are only streamed through Gozips.com. The ASN feeds have been of the highest quality,
  15. I think that there are 3-4 guys actually deserving consideration. In many ways the deck is stacked against Keith here because the Zips are often expected to be very good so it's no surprise when they win the conference. These awards often go to the coaches who's teams overachieve despite their position in the standings. I think that a very solid case could be made for any of the top four guys but given all that happened in Buffalo, I think Nate Oats has done a tremendous job. He gets my nod. My top four 1 Nate Oats (Buffalo) 2 James Whitford ( Ball St) 3 Keith Dambrot (Akron) 4 Mark Montgomery (NIU)
  16. Ahhh yes, that would be the same Lamont Simpson that I observed sprinting from the arena to his car after the '06/'07 championship game. I think that his brother also worked that game. He wasn't running to avoid traffic, he was in genuine fear. I'll never forget it.
  17. Eastern had 3 technical fouls in the books today before their first personal foul. Top that one. James Thompson IV is no doubt a tremendous talent and guaranteed to be MAC freshman of the year but I think he's a punk and I'll bet he doesn't last 4 years in school. Just my opinion of course, but his attitude and body language just oozes thug. Murphy may not survive through this bunch.
  18. Steve will become an excellent coach someday. It's in his pedigree.
  19. I have the same uneasy feeling I had before the Miami game, or maybe it's just the Mexican food I consumed for dinner. BG looked much, much better last out when defeating the kittens. Ohio's Polytechnic University 73 Freddy & Frieda 66
  20. 19 of the last 21 completed games have been taken by the home side. The only road team to break the current trend has been Ball State who won twice on the road in that span. This will probably be the most wide open tourney ever. Nothing at all will surprise me and that includes top seeds falling in their first appearance
  21. We lack the eye of the tiger. I want to see us match the intensity of the guy in my soon to be retired avatar.
  22. May I have the envelope please ? Drum roll..................... From the University of Ohio, Antonio Campbell. The Kittens would be in a world of hurt without this guy, Last week, 20 boards against Miami, 33 pts vs. Eastern. He straps that team on his back night after night and just gets it done. When I think about a players true value to his team and where they would be without him I think he's the guy and I don't believe ts even close.
  23. Doing my part by switching avatars after a loss . However,I am overwhelmed with the sinking feeling that this game is going to be much closer than it should be. Maybe, hopefully it's just me.
  24. We were screaming about it here. One of our guys tried to save a loose ball and swatted it back in play but it clearly the ball was not in our possession. No excuses here though, we were outplayed
