  1. It's getting really frustrating playing teams that keep 11 players behind the ball, but a win's a win.No action until Saturday at NIU... never an easy place to play.
  2. Another instance in a long line of the best players we land not seeing the field (for more than one year anyway in Harvey's case). Definitely the most frustrating thing about our football program in my opinion.
  3. I don't think OU is a bottom ten team. I sure hope Can't is... can't wait until next Saturday.
  4. Here's how I see things shaking out, interested to see what others think as well...MAC East1 - Can't State, iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiif... Singletary is cleared to play and they get solid play from two of the three newcomers they have over 6'7".2 - Miami - Didn't lose anyone but Pollitz.3 (tie) - BGSU - Too bad for them that Hamblet wasn't given another season of eligibility, they'll still be solid anyway. - UA - Could be higher if team chemistry is good, in 09-10, look out!5 - Ohio - Tillman is great, not much else to write home about.6 - Buffalo - Everybody's back from last year... but none of them were very good.MAC West1 - Western Michigan - A lot of attrition, but a lot coming back too.2 - Toledo - Would have been the team to beat if Payne had been given another year of eligibility.3 - Central Michigan - Bleh4 - Ball St. - Bleh5 - Northern Illinois - Bleh6 - Eastern Michigan - BlehOnce again, four (or five) of the top six teams are in the East.
  5. I anxiously await ZIP's report.
  6. True. And it is really unfair to those Crawford teams because they averaged just as many points as our soccer team! Soccer being my favorite sport, I was extremely happy to see so many fans at last night's game. Our back four, comprised of three freshmen and a sophomore has now helped Evan keep a clean sheet against three quality opponents! Hopefully we can come away from our last two real challenges (OSU & New Mexico) with wins and take care of business against the rest. If we do, home field advantage until the Final 4 would be a real possibility.
  7. 1 Wake Forest (21) 525 1 2 - 0 - 0 2 Boston College 470 4 1 - 1 - 0 3 Connecticut 440 2 1 - 0 - 1 4 Creighton 423 6 1 - 0 - 0 5 Akron 422 12 1 - 0 - 1 6 Indiana 407 7 1 - 0 - 1 7 SMU 379 17 2 - 0 - 0 8 Notre Dame 317 3 1 - 1 - 0 9 Maryland 309 8 1 - 1 - 0 10 Ohio State 306 9 2 - 0 - 0 Great weekend at the Indiana Tournament... nice to see some college soccer in HD on the Big Ten Network. The foul call on Bunbury that negated his goal looked pretty bogus to me, especially as loosely as the game was officiated otherwise. Games upcoming with #32 West Virginia and #28 New Mexico in the next couple of weeks, can't afford a letdown. Home opener on Friday!!!
  8. Huge victory!!! Interesting starting lineup as well (4 Freshmen, 4 Sophs, 1 Junior, 2 Seniors) featuring five new faces... two more true freshmen came off the bench as well. According to the box score, Nanchoff and Tipton didn't feature in the match... anyone know if either of those omissions were injury-related?Another big test tomorrow at 2:00 vs. Indiana, televised on the Big Ten Network! These opening games are very important as they will likely determine how many home games we get come tournament time.
  9. Guess you'll be staying home then.
  10. My source contradicts that information zipmeister... and based on "Badger-gate", I say my people are more reliable.
  11. Booooooo the Grateful Dead. (If the sig didn't give it away, I'm not a fan lol)
  12. I have an unnamed source who tells me that we may or may not be lining up a game against a well-respected team from either the Big East, Big Ten, Big 12, ACC, SEC, or the Metro Atlantic Conference for the 2010-11 season. This game would be either home, away, or played at a neutral site. Sorry I can't give you more details right now, but you'll know who it is when it's announced and I don't want my information pipeline to dry up because then I would no longer be more special and important than the rest of you. I'm sure you understand, and I'm sure you're looking forward to this game as much as I am! Go Zips!
  13. Mason is big, fast, and skilled... can't wait to see him in a Zips uniform.
  14. Don't pay. There have to be other viable solutions for this project that can be done at a cost well below three million dollars.
  15. I cringe at the thought of the WNBA.
  16. Rest easy ZIP, Chad is already a committed 'roo.
  17. Thread of the day. A++ idea. Shall we start a petition?
  18. Unbelievable. He should have been awarded slightly below market value on the grounds that UA did him a favor by forcing him to construct new buildings for his businesses that don't smell like stale falafel, cigarette smoke, and cat piss.
  19. There are five future Zips on there, wow... Sarkodie (D), Bunbury (F), Speas (MF), Barson (D), and Meves (GK). They have Meves listed as a Senior, but I'm pretty sure he's just finishing his Junior year... I could be wrong.
  20. Anyone got a link?
  21. What are you talking about? Didn't you read g-mann's assertion that public school kids outperform their private school counterparts on standardized tests?I believe it was something about the top scores being higher. Statistically speaking, since many more students are in public schools, I think you'll have that.I was being sarcastic, but it would appear that g-mann has (wisely) backtracked on his prior position... I think. It's actually pretty difficult to make sense of everything he's posted on the subject.

  23. Given our history, it would be a bathroom stall without a door on it and a Cambodian guy sitting on the toilet.I snorted coffee out of my nose on that one.
