I agree, having someone get on the mic and charge up the crowd was a great idea. The Rowdies finally showed up and spared us from having to fill an entire student section with high schoolers. We've had two pretty good draws in a row now, let's hope the games everyone saw keep them coming back for more.

What a heartbreaking way to finish a season... dominate the entire game from start to finish and concede a cheap goal in the second overtime. Many thanks to Pablo, Devin, Elliot, Corey, and Auggie for their time at UA. Hopefully Coach Porter inspires all the returnees to come back strong next year and hits the recruiting trail hard to attempt to replace the talent that graduates this year.

If I understand correctly, RPI is just as important in the soccer tournament selection process as it is in basketball. I'm cautiously optimistic about getting a home game in the tournament, but even winning out doesn't guarantee that our RPI will go up... beating lousy opponents is just as detrimental (if not moreso) to a team's RPI as losing to good ones, and our remaining schedule doesn't feature anyone who will help us out. Can't wait for next Friday... and I hope it turns out to be another crack at NIU!!!!!

You're right, when someone gets sacked as many times in one series as someone else does in eight games, there is very little need for comparison.

Because he's steering it pretty well. As if it needed to be said, huge win tonight... but if last week's loss (or any loss) deserves a "do we have the right coach?" thread, then this one deserves a "yes, we have the right coach" response. Oh, and Can't lost too.

I'll give Can't this much credit... at least they know who their rival is and actually make it a point to demonstrate that they don't like us, which is, you know, what rivals do. (A fact that's lost on about half the posters here).

This has not been a fantastic start to the season, but to say it's the worst thing you've ever seen and call for the coach's head after starting out 2-3 is pretty extreme... we're 1-0 in the MAC and that win was a big one. Can you really hang the coach out to dry for losing three games that we were "supposed" to lose? OSU, Indiana, and UConn are better than we are... sorry to have to say it, but it's true. Indiana and UConn were winnable games if we play above average and they throw up a clunker, but it didn't happen. (Flame away, but there was no chance of beating OSU... we played our best game of the year and they played their worst and it was still a three-possession loss).Every game from here on out is meaningful... we will win the MAC and/or be bowl eligible if we play well the rest of the way. It's too early to be calling the season a failure when you've only played one conference game. All we know at this point is that we wouldn't be very competitive in a BCS conference... and you'll pardon me if I remind you that there's no groundbreaking news there.Every time we lose a game a thread gets started claiming that the program has no direction, and it's kind of ridiculous.

I'm more and more dumbfounded every day by some of the stuff I read on here.No, Ohio State and Michigan NEVER cheer for each other, Duke and UNC NEVER cheer for each other, Alabama and Auburn NEVER cheer for each other... under any circumstances. None of them give a rat's ass about conference pride... take a look at the fact that Columbus merchants can't keep enough Appalachian St. gear on the shelves as evidence. I was in Greensboro when UNC lost to George Mason two years ago... the Dookies were ecstatic. I was hanging out with a couple of OSU friends during the UM/App. St. game... I thought they were going to have coronaries they were so happy. (Before I catch any hell for that, let it be noted that they joined me at Browns Stadium that night for the Patriot Bowl).Does anyone here know what a rivalry is? Does anyone know that the Buckeyes are not our rivals in any way, shape, or form? Does anyone know that you're supposed to pray night and day that your rival is met with unmitigating humiliation? If Can't lost to a D-III school, I'd throw a party... the MAC can pound sand. I'll say it again, no wonder we aren't big time, we have fans who are actually willing to wear K.e.n.t gear... the same ones that have a cow every time they see a Buckeyes shirt in Akron.
