There is a great free app called "Zips Update" and the rosters go back to 1996-97 season.

The writing was on the wall when he refused to go into the game against NC A&T. He was checking in with about 2:20 to play in the game but the action didn't stop until there were 0:46 left. Green went back to the bench and Dambrot asked him to go in and you could read his lips (while shaking his head no) he said, "I'm good."

Dambrot does have a show on STO, it starts Dec 26. Check local listings. Nice. Didn't hear about it and I have season tickets.

I hope they give him a weekly TV show on STO or FSN Ohio. Our program needs a TV show. TW needs to get Coach Dambrot a weekly show on one of those networks.

Between sessions: The Akron Zips held open gym and it is clear the new faces added to the Zips 2011 NCAA Tournament team will give Akron a new look. Not only will 6-6 Benedictine High product Nick Harney and 6-8 Euclid High product Demetrius Treadwill have the Zips playing well above the rim, but the perimeter marksmanship of transfers 6-4 Chauncy Gilliam (Loyola-Baltimore) and 6-4 Brian Walsh (Xavier) will also be an added plus.source

A large group of friends went there a few weeks ago and had a great time. We could talk with music in the background. It is clean and comfortable. It has a good feel and is good for downtown.

I was told a study is going on right now and The U of A will decide in the near future to either renovate or raise funds to build new. They said to watch the Trustees agenda and/or minutes. Just passing a decent rumor on.

According to Elton in the PD, Nik is coming back for his senior year.

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. According to wikipedia the roots of the word have been defined as follows: super- "above", cali- "beauty", fragilistic- "delicate", expiali- "to atone", and docious- "educable", with the sum of these parts signifying roughly "Atoning for educability through delicate beauty." Started out as a joke but turned out to be a pretty good definition to describe the season.

I have enjoyed these seniors. A tribute to Coach Dambrot and the type of men he goes after. The next wave also looks very promising. Thanks to another great group of seniors for all of the fun basketball! Hope to see everyone soon at a well deserved celebration.

Hope the ticket office updates the recorded message soon. The message is still from Thursday. How about a new message with a statement about being MAC Champs.

1. Keith is the top coach in the MAC. 2. Zeke will be fine. Love the guy and it is just taking a little longer than most want. 3. Cooper is going to play in the NBA.

The best things about Zips Basketball Games: 1. The winning tradition that Dambrot has brought. 2. The Pep Band. 3. The Students. Simple things needed to improve the atmosphere: 1. A program that allows season ticket holders to re-sell their tickets that are not going to be used, so we don't have to look at all of those blue seats. 2. Bring back Willy or someone similar, so we can get some energy in the gym. 3. Lower the ticket prices, so the casual fan shows up and buys food, drinks and gear. Generate some income. 4. Friendlier ushers. I forgot something in my lower bowl seat after the game and the usher would not let me back in the door that I just walked out. 15 years as a season ticket holder...Nice. 5. More promotions for students. When we have students attending, the games have such a better feel.
