  1. I can't remember a game, at any level, where a team had two grand slams in a game. I believe it has probably happened (most likely more probably in little league), but I can't recall such an event. Another rarity accomplished by the Zips in this game was scoring in eight of the nine innings! With the exception of one inning where Northern plated six runs it was almost total domination.
  2. You seem to have the final score correct, but failed to mention both Zip grand Slams!
  3. I disagree. I think the only room that would be hurt more with the loss of a single player would be the qb room.
  4. Assuming Price is actually out, the addition of one RB would actually increase the room by 25%.
  5. How is one going to win the $1,000 cash drawing if they don't register?
  6. The Zips don't have too many positions where the loss of one player would reduce the room by 20%.
  7. Our chances would dramatically increase if we just increase seating capacity by 45K to 55K. Although this is unlikely because it would require the university to open more than three refreshment stands for the pro games.
  8. I’m not real familiar with the football team at East Mississippi, but I’ve heard they are pretty good. However, if you are a big fan of rodeo the East Mississippi Lions are a team worth following. Both the mens’ and women’s teams are highly competitive and fun to watch.
  9. In the 2023 NCAA D1 Women's Swimming and Diving Championship, the Lady Tankers finished in 36th place with 5 points (only 500+ points out of 1st). Senior Weronika Goreka led the Zips scoring raking up 4 points for a 13th place finish in the 200 Back. Junior Maddy Gatrell added 1 point by finishing 16th in the 100 back. The road to quick success for the Zips is obvious. We have to load up on a bunch of trans swimmers who were fairly good competing as men but will blow the swim caps off the competition competing as women. We must act quickly on this because it's only a matter of time before somebody with some common sense prohibits trans from female competition.
  10. Since the Zips are twice as good as they were last season and every team on the Zips schedule this year is a mere shadow of what they were, what could possibly go wrong?
  11. Or he could become a "John Groce" (technically maybe that would be a John Groce.2) and wither with a bigger conference and budget.
  12. Hoping to participate in the way-2-early prediction discussion without putting much thought into it I came up with the list enumerated below. The process: I jotted the team names on separate pieces paper then did a random draw. The Zips actually were drawn 8th, but they were elevated to the number 1 spot to avoid upsetting any ZipsNation members. So here is my projected order of finish for next season......... ZIPS BUGS SWEATERS TOL CMU WMU EMU OH NI BUF KSU BALL
  13. 6'2" & 205 lbs really isn't all that big; especially if they plan on playing him on the offensive line as is indicated on the official Zips roster. https://gozips.com/sports/football/roster
  14. As the following link indicates, the University of Akron made a startling announcement today that it's official colors are being changed from Blue and Gold to Brown and Orange. Apparently, the switch was made in hopes of attracting fans from Cleveland and Cincinnati, both of which have professional football teams with those colors. AP source
  15. 9-5. Nice win for the Zips over a team that (at least for today) has an RPI 62 places ahead of the Zips.
  16. Is he giving the "that's right" signal or "that's incorrect" signal. I just tuned into the Dayton game to see the zips walk a flyer with an .080 batting average (that is not a typo).
  17. Oh, that's the only score that gets factored into the W/L columns right?
  18. The Zips were also up 1-0 after 1 and 9-7 after 8. Anyone hear the final score?
  19. I always wondered what PWO stood for. Now I believe it may stand for Pretty Worn Out.
  20. Zips 11 Wolverweenies 10 You each should contact the author of the attached article and congratulate him on Michigan's "tune-up" game. not good to count your chickens before they are hatched
  21. I, like most of those who favor the Zips playing in the CBI, am extremely disappointed. Granted, the experience is not worth the entry fee, but of more concern to me is that I have already purchased a "WERE #101 - 2023 CBI" shirt which I was going to proudly wear after the Zips won the whole shooting match. That's another $12.95 I'm never getting back.
  22. With apologies; I mixed up a couple of posts and sent my post to the wrong thread.
  23. You are one industrious fellow Cat. And all the info for each school presented in such an organized manner. So tell me how you selected the order to present the schools. You could have used alphabetical order. You could have used the order in which each school's recruiting efforts were ranked. You could have used dozens of other criteria, But it appears the order you used was random. Kind of strange for such an organized guy.
