  1. I think it has something to do with Oklahoma being in a different time zone than Ohio.
  2. The Zips win occurred early in the season with the Raiders trying their best to cope with three deaths including Holden's dad and coach Nagy's dad. At the end of the season there was a high probability the Raiders would have prevailed.
  3. How dare you besmirch the number one export of any kind from Australia.
  4. If Akron is going to lose to a few sub par teams this year then Wright State has a chance cause they are definitely sub par.
  5. I agree that most Yellow Tails are just awful (their Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are the worst) but their Pink Moscato has an average Vivino rating of 4.1 which suggests that it is drinkable. Unfortunately, there are scores of wines that are as bad or worse than the worst Yellow Tail.
  6. This game should go in the win column for the Zips. Basile is tearing it up for Virginia Tech and, at Ohio State, while Holden has spent most of the time as a sub. He does get into games and just got done sinking the winning 3-pointer against Rutgers with virtually no time left on the clock. With those two still at Wright State I believe the Raiders would beat the Zips; without them the Raiders are looking a lot like a 500 ball club. Their center plays soft and on offense for most of the game they play 4 on 5!!! Their coach just loves a guard named Norris who, if things go as they have for most of this season, is very reluctant to shoot. Perhaps that's just as well because both Calvin and Davis are gunners that take enough shots for four guys.
  7. Bump for explanation on what "bump for update" means.
  8. At your suggestion, I read the hole post. Not sure we should recruit this guy because he is not very tough.
  9. You should probably take that "first team" thing with a grain of salt. He was actually one of FIVE QBs on the "first team." https://www.ohsaa.org/news-media/articles/division-ii-and-iii-football-all-ohio-teams-announced-16
  10. @catdaddypPlease don't be too upset with BJs rant. I think this is just a case of someone with an undistinguished career/life striking out at someone whose career/life he finds intimidating Unfortunately, this is commonplace. Sometimes successful completion of a Dale Carnegie course will help but there are no guarantees. My major criticism of Undercuffer is that he floats his passes.
  11. Bubba haven a little fun with the Zip fans. Sure starts out like a dear john letter.
  12. Two interesting portal entries Braden Fiske Western Mich. DL with no apparent Akron connections Savion Washington Kent State OT St V St M grad
  13. One thing the Muskingum game results show me is that if we move back to the OAC Akron should be one of the best teams in the conference. And, I suspect, have one of the better basketball facilities. Merry Christmas
  14. The Zips must be getting really good; look at all the 3*s looking for a new team.
  15. Another exception to the rule, although this one happened when dinosaurs still roamed the Earth; Don James from KSU to Washington.
  16. If good scenery fostered football excellence Hawaii would win the national championship every year. Of the many campuses which I have been on the one with the best scenery (mostly wearing halter tops) was Miami (FL). Good thing I was not a student there; it would have been problematic trying to focus on my studies while constantly tripping over my tongue.
  17. The watchers watched, they were unimpressed.
  18. This may give multiple transferees a shot at tenure somewhere down the road which, once obtained, entitles the player to a position for life. No wait, that's only for faculty unless some football mill has incorporated it into their NIL compensation package.
  19. Looks like they clean the portal out to start the new year. I'm going to miss seeing the 135 pound, no star kid whose name I can't remember trying to get picked up out of Akron.
  20. @LoyalZIPI think the rules now allow players to use the portal once without sitting out a year at the new school. This may keep players like Anthony Williams here rather than using the portal.
  21. My guess would be bringing in a big time transfer will open up at least a couple of chairs in the QB room.
  22. Your hope has come true because wagering is illegal in Ohio.
  23. I agree, but it may take a protracted amount of time for many of the current team to figure out they don't fit into the long-range team plan (just like at Akron).
  24. Especially Colorado; their new coach just can't get players excited about playing for him.
