  1. I see what you did there; subtle switch from football to basketball. I can play along. Don't be disparaging Miami of Ohio; they put up a valiant effort in their loss to that basketball powerhouse NIU.
  2. The reason most Zip fans predict more wins than the Zips will achieve is because fans focus on the improvement made by the Zips and ignore the possibility (likelihood) that other teams have also improved.
  3. Fessler may have set a record for serving on the most college football staffs (3) as a graduate assistant, and the quickest rise from graduate assistant to OC in D1 history.
  4. I did not realize you had married such a high-maintenace woman. Photographic evidence that her old toaster is working just fine...........
  5. Semi-interesting history: First committed to Yale, then de-commits and commits to Duke, then 6 days after committing to Duke takes an official visit to USC. For somebody who is smart enough to get recruited by Yale and Duke, his decision making is questionable.
  6. I'd be willing to bet it happens within the next 5 years (at least I hope so because it will allow me to take off work and drink more beer).
  7. Did you catch the FCS championship between NDSU and SDSU. Now that was a truly entertaining game. I watched the entire game. As I viewed the jam-packed stands on the only side of the stadium that the cameras showed the entire game, it reminded me of a game at the Rubber Bowl that was being nationally televised by ESPN. Before the game started the stadium announcer asked everyone to move to the side of the stadium that would be in camera view to make it appear attendance was higher than it actually was. We did, it was neat participating in the charade. Any other ZipsNation members at that game?
  8. Last time almost 50% of of our portal signings came in January. If that's going to happen again the Zips have a boatload of signings to obtain in the next three weeks. I'm skeptical; your thoughts?
  9. I hope you are correct, but I recall being disappointed way more often than pleased with the results of nationally televised Zip contests.
  10. Yes, but over an entire season zero tackles over nine games extrapolates out to... never mind. .Could tighten the competition for the Ryan Bain Award next season
  11. From a mayonnaise company or a cutlery company? Speaking of the Juice, has he found the real killer yet?
  12. You are the consummit traditionalist. I'm willing to compromise; how about Mr. Jack Wagon, the Sage of ZipsNation? Happy New Year to you, yours, and all of ZipsNation.
  13. And there is no way they can reduce the sting by replacing those four guys with 4 of the few guys in the portal.
  14. Weather probably isn't what would be holding up a bowl game in Canton. Despite the fact that Boise is at both a higher elevation and latitude than Canton there is little difference between the two locations in December precipitation and temperature. Boise is a tad warmer and wetter than Canton. My guess would be that finding an entity willing to pony up the cash to cover a long-term commitment for a D1 bowl game in Canton could be problematic, but if such a benefactor could be located he/she/it would have naming rights to the bowl game. The GP1 Bowl has a nice ring to it.
  15. Great idea. I recommend restricting the participating teams to those from south of the Mason-Dixon line to give them the thrill of playing in northern Ohio in late December.
  16. I certainly hope you are not starting out the new year with sarcasm because when a team is playing a nine-man (or larger) rotation scoring by the 9th scoring option may be of critical importance.
  17. Spot on. We may have to start referring to you as the Sage of ZipsNation.
  18. Very impressive bowl season for the MAC.
