  1. Only disagreement I have is that Iowa State was "somewhat like the Nebraska of the Big 12". Nebraska was always contesting for the Big 12 championship while Iowa State was contesting with Kansas for doormat of the conference; a contest they frequently won.
  2. I'm going with 7+scores (23 safties,1 extra point, and 1 two-point conversion. Bonus Bonus unasked question: I expect to see a QB other than Undercuffler get into the game.
  3. Please explain how ASU has monumentally better fans than Nebraska.
  4. It's interesting how many recruits from all across the country come to Lincoln and mention how much better it was than they expected. Strangely enough, I lived in Lincoln for 6 years. It's the nicest place in which I have ever lived. When I lived in Milwaukee, I was puzzled that there were a few guys who worked with me, but lived in Madison. After living in Lincoln, I understand why they did.
  5. Shouldn't the MAC also git rid of Northern Illinois? And regarding your question about the outcome of the Georgia Southern, Marshall, and App State games last weekend, they all won.
  6. The Zips may be a "work in progress" and have "a lot of moving parts", but they are highly thought of by those responsible for ranking FBS teams. Witness, MSUs victory over the Zips vaulted the Spartans 3 spots in the AP poll to #11 and 2 spots in the Coaches poll to #9. Now if that's not respect, I don't know what is. GO ZIPS
  7. @72Roo I was thinking a couple of years earlier when they came here in the regular season and we beat them 4-0. That's not the bad part. Then they came here again in the first round of the NCAA and we lost 1-0. They went on to tie for the D1 national title and I can help but wonder what might have happened if we had won that 1st round game.
  8. hmmmm
  9. ESPN shows the game being televised by BTN.
  10. I think we may be at that point. Here's a thought;we could let the coaches figure out how to avoid sucking weekly and have ZipsNation posters spend more time doing stuff the coaches don't do like creating look alike posts.
  11. Look for Dayton to be cranking out a number of D1 talent players with JUCO level academic skills as the Dayton Board of Education has just dropped the minimum GPA to qualify for athletic competition from a 1.5 (D) to a 1.0 (D-). Thank God classes are back to being conducted in school where it's easier for the teachers to teach the kids the answers to their proficiency tests. Doing so with distance learning proved to be problematic.
  12. @Capt: What's your over/under on how many ZipsNation posters didn't get your Camp Granada reference? I had to think about for a while before the light dawned.
  13. I think 72 has his finger on the pulse of the team so I am modifying my prediction from 20 safeties to 20 safeties and an extra point.
  14. I forget, which of our last four conference foes are fodder: Miami, Eastern, Buffalo or Northern?
  15. I had no idea it was up to the underdog to cover the spread as suggested by your poll. Is this something new; maybe related to the portal or NIL? Very difficult to predict a score in a favored team can name-the-score game like this one. I'll go with the Spartans by twenty safeties.
  16. @72Roo, Michigan State bring back any bad memories for you?
  17. That's absolutely false.
  18. Substitute one "is" for an "are" and the letter is perfectly acceptable. Compared to most communications that come out of athletic departments, the letter is Catcher in the Rye caliber. My congratulations to the unknown author who is obviously a frequent poster on this board.
  19. When Scott Frost gets fired later this season, the portal is going to get flooded with Nebraska players because they really like Scott. I'm hoping Joe can sign a couple of them.
  20. You've got some splainin to do Lucy.
  21. I watched. Regardless of the spread, to profit from this game, give the points.
  22. I also went back and rewatched the game, but I did so by viewing the the TV image in a mirror to form an even more reflective take. Would it have killed somebody to give one or two of the other RBs a few snaps?
  23. If the WR were running wide open all night perhaps it would not be a bad idea to give #13 a shot at QB; supposedly his passes are more accurate than Irons. In the Game 1 Prediction thread, I said that the Zips have a problem if they couldn't beat these guys by at least 8 points. They have a problem.
  24. Apparently you are forgetting what several posters have pointed out; Northern Illinois went from last place in the MAC west to the MACC in one year. The Zips are still tied for first in the east; GO ZIPS.
  25. Every possibility other than the first one was >10K.
