Any team that buys into the CBI is signaling the rest of of the world "Hey look at us; we are desperate for attention." If that were the case, it would mean that people pay attention to the CBI. I don't think that's the case. I like the CBI. More competitive basketball at the JAR is always good. My over/under is 2,900. Quick, tell me three teams that played in the CBI the last two years? Who won it all each year to take home the title of "we're #98 or whatever"? No peaking now. Tulsa and Oregon State I have no idea whether you answered the second question correctly or not, but if you did you either peaked or you have no life whatsoever. I dont know if you are implying that my knowledge "peaked" at this moment or that i "peeked" but i actually had heard of this tournament before and even watched a title game in it last year. Just pay attention to college basketball a little bit and you'll pick up things like that. They teach you the difference between peeked and peaked at college basketball games now!! In the good old days we learned that stuff in grade school. But enough about grammar. Here's an update on the Zips opponent: I’m thinking you will find their style extremely deliberate. I am reminded of the time the snail was run over by the turtle. The snail was rushed to the hospital and a doctor asked him, “What happened?” “I don’t know,” the snail replied, “it happened so fast.” After he recovered the snail attended a UWGB basketball game and spent most of the game yelling at the players to pick up the pace.

Don't confuse the rest of the board. If they figure out you understand the difference they will be asking you to explain the difference between to two and too, or between then and than, or between there and their. Other "peaked" comments were much more subtle and right over there heads.

Now that the CBI is in existence we should be able to string about 50 post season appearances in a row. Not bad.

I say 1956. And -- No peeking, ZipsNation! So close. Actually, I haven't reached it yet, but it can't be more than a few decades from now. Go Zips, beat the heck out of them "hold the ball for the full shot clock, Phoenix."

What go and mes are trying to tell you zipzippy is that you are completely wrong.

We should recoup a large portion of the $60K with $12 sodas and $9 dogs. Any team that buys into the CBI is signaling the rest of of the world "Hey look at us; we are desperate for attention."

I've heard pig poop smells worse than horse poop.

What do you call a bunch of Zip fans who get together to complain about referees and eat brie?A whine and cheese party.
-
I feel a 14 point victory coming for the Zips.

I'll bet Dave is never inviting Quick or 71 to a party for fear they would wizz in the punch bowl.

I have always said, "floundering passion will be the ruination of us all."

Yes, politics. That is one of the most disgusting things about the selection process. For years I have argued that the selection committee should base the selection on scores, but will they listen? Oh, don't get me started. But if you check it out you will see that they do the same thing in swimming and tennis. It's all politics. I better stop now before I pull something. Agh. politics.

I suppose it could have been worse. You could have suggested that we sent him not one but to groce gift baskets.

CBA Ranked 76th in Country by U.S. News

I heard Akron would have been ranked number 28 until word leaked out they had awarded me two diplomas. -

That's all well and good but I like to think of us as #1 in the central part of Summit County. -
Something is definitely rotten in the State of Denmark. I think the whole thing may have been a fix. And I quote - "A computer glitch with the new electronic targets at the academy has not allowed a release of all the scores yet. Complete results will be sent in a separate message as they are made available." Sounds like Akron may have had some assistance from our crack computer science team. And what's with the MARC infringing on a MAC copyright. Do they think lawyers get paid from money growing on trees? Maybe the air riflers should try nitrogen. Anyhow congratulations to the Akron shooters for not injuring anyone on this outing.

What position would you assign to the players on this team? OJ is the obvious choice for point guard because of his slashing ability, but no matter what combo you put them in I think this group lacks the height to be competitive at the division I level.Well Mike Tyson would be able to cover Singletary. In addition to a lack of size this bunch appears to o lack scoring punch. OJ may have improved his ball handling skills with his recent stint in the big house, but only Tiger has developed a reputation of taking the rock to the hole.

About as Big-time as It Gets
Zipmeister replied to Captain Kangaroo's topic in Akron Zips Basketball
I recall the Capt.s charge that the phrase that means excrementing down one of one's lower appendage is not to be used for the remainder of this basketball season and I will honor his command. However, we need a way to describe a big time event, especially one on national television, where we perform poorly. I propose the following which is derivative of happening (as in a notable event) and also conveys the fact that the performance was less than desired. Specifically, last nights game was a crappening. -
Before the Zipmeister does it, I'd pay to see that. Actually, my only comment is that if we eliminate GP1 posts where he tells us how great he is, the 100,000 posts drops to 48.

He would probably be equally thrilled with you for changing his last name and with them for changing his first name. How do I collect on the chicken dinner?
