Name Ring A Bell?
Zipmeister replied to Captain Kangaroo's topic in Akron Zips Basketball Recruiting
Yes, completely irresponsible! In a report on RETURNING players, he didn't mention where ANY nonreturning players will be playing bball, not just guys going somewhere for their first year of college ball next year, but former high school players from ALL previous years were ignored in this pathetic example of "journalism." Unbelievable! -
Butler has a bulldog, can we get a real kangaroo?

Not only can they block, they can disembowel. Three Roos on our defense and we win the National title. -

I recall that too. It was a Wallaby, not a Kangaroo. I think it died. You can find it in the biology lab now. Captain.....Actually, if I remember correctly, the winning name for it was also "Wallaby". Was anyone working in the athletic dept. at the time who could remember more of the details? I don't recall ever hearing anything about it ever again. All I can say is shortly after it disappeared everyone who ate the chili at the student union had a little extra bounce in their step. -
From top to bottom, definitely. Akron, Can't, and Ohio are the best in the MAC and then there is a huge drop off from there on out. From top to bottom, the Horizon League is definitely deeper. How can you say that? If the MAC and Horiizon played their respective number 1 teams against each other and so forth down the line, The MACs 11 and 12 teams would win going away.

Want to make the regular season meaningful? Eliminate conference tournaments and make the regular season champion the champion of the league with an automatic bid. Leagues with two divisions? Divisional champions play best of 3 or 5 (you decide) during the week the tournaments were to be played. One division league? First and second place play best of whatever for the championship. No team with a sub .500 conference record can get into the NCAA. Reduce the field to 48. I don't know why the illusion in our society is that we need to make everything bigger to make it better. NCAA playoffs, NFL playoffs, the NCAA tournament, the governnment, MLB playoffs, the obscene length of movies, etc. It just doesn't make sense to me. MLB playoffs are the only thing that i really think should be expanded. I'm all for 2 wild cards in each league and 3 game series to see who goes to the division series. MLB and NCAA Rifle are the only two that should be expanded. By the way. This thread has now set a record for number of responses to an April Fool's joke. Congratulations to all.

If I didn’t know better I’d swear this was an April Fool’s Joke, but as you can see from the link below this is on the up and up. After the conclusion of the NIT Championship (won by them battling Flyers of UD) the NCAA announced that the NCAA men’s bball tournament will be expanded to 128 teams next year and the NIT will be expanded to 48 teams. This bodes well for the Zips playing in the post season. link

Over the past several years, Zipmeister has posted bogus press releases on April 1st which have caused great anguish to some of the more feeble-minded on the board who hope we can get into a better athletic conference. In deference to the new wave that has taken over the country, he pledges to "change." No more will he falsely build your hopes up only to have them come crashing back down. Never again will he suggest that Notre Dame is joining the MAC. In fact, his new motto is "Change you can step in." Happy April Fool's Day fellow travelers.

I followed the link and Torrence did not break any of those laws, unless I am misunderstanding. I am not a lawyer, nor an Ohio resident, so I don't know the laws around here. Other than the "In Ohio it is illegal to fish for whales on Sundays." But back to the point, I don't understand why a kid who's 17, can get in trouble for relations with a girl 2 years younger. I'm 21, so I guess in Ohio I'm not allowed to date any girls that are 19 or 23, or else I would get in trouble? Uhh oh stay away from the college sophmores? and I believe Hugh Hefner would be in jail for the rest of his life You have it nailed. Are you sure you are not pre-law? I'm not trying to be a jerk I just don't understand these buckeye state laws haha I guess asking for your opinion on Ohio Revised Code 1503.05 is probably out of the question then?

I'm 110% with Quick on this one. You absolutely cannot believe everything you read on the Internet. That's how World War One got started.
-
Based on your last three posts, you are having a little difficulty grasping that concept as well.
-
Yes, but when you think about it, that wasn't really all that impressive. How do you think he would have done this year against your 8th grade team?
-
From what I have heard from an inside source, interesting is an understatement... Care to elaborate? They told me to keep it private...someone heard from the inside and told me to keep it quiet. There are 3 players that confirmed last tuesday to Dambrot that they are transferring. There is also one player who is debating to stay on the team or to transfer. I'll let you guys guess who since I don't want to be the spoiler We don't take too kindly to your type round here. I'll tell you this much...3 out of the 4 i mentioned are backcourt players...that's all i'll say... I'm not asking you to name names, but could you list the height and home town of each of the 4 players in question?

Of course it did last Fall. It must have. Don't you remember several people on this thread claiming the stadium would be 100% ready for the opening game last year? Was the stadium not 100% ready for the opening game? I didn't see any missing seat sections. If you chose not to notice the unfinished parts of the stadium last Fall there is probably nothing I can do to convince you. That is why I agreed in my last post that the shop was done last Fall. I didn't notice anything that wasn't finished? I have already conceded that your lack of observatory skills makes you right. I'm just happy nobody appears to have been harmed while in the "fully complete" facility.

Now that is one poorly constructed sentence. The 'Meister is gonna have a stroke! Lol This was either a simple typographical error that could have happened to anyone or perhaps a small mistake in translating zippyman's post from ancient Mayan to English. In ancient Mayan there was only a one letter difference between "be able" and "people." I don't understand why some of you be able are so judgmental.

I'll have two of whatever the Watcher is drinking.

He may be trying to elude a stalker. Has anyone seen nbs95?

Why have you started THREE threads (with identical titles) on this subject. Does he get extra facebook points for this?

Yes. In fact he is a full 8 inches taller than the average male Mayan Indian.

You are lapsing into classic UAkid nonsense here.

I expect the "Meister" to render an opinion at any second. Fixed it, man I looked like a real K-E-N-T grad on that one. Don't be two quick to ridicule yourself. We have all been down that rowed before.

PN7..I was like, who is that? Had no idea he changed his number. I am a dork, but I like the single digit numbers for a QB..makes them look faster!!! As for the article..2 pictures?!?!? C'mon, ABJ..coverage getting better, but how about 8 to 10 pics. I am craving some football!!! I think we should change the numbers on most of our defensive backs to make them look taller.
