We need the Bob Huggins of college football
Zipmeister replied to Zipmeister's topic in Akron Zips Football Recruiting
I was asking for a friend. Sorry to learn that you are sorry. Bowden has already proven he is not the guy to make the plan work. Marble cake with butter cream icing please. -
Who do you think the Bob Huggins of college football is? With all the posts referring to the transfer portal, I decided to take a look at it. In doing so, it occurred to me that with the right coach, we could fill the roster with 4 and 5 stars, destroy the rest of the MAC, and compete with good teams from other conferences. However, it would be important to have a skilled recruiting coordinator to reduce the number of head cases and scoundrels that wind up in our hallowed halls. So who is the guy who has a shot at pulling this off?

Keeping up with the Three D's (Dambrot, Dru & Duquesne)

I was thinking of commenting that perhaps that has something to do with how attractive DJ looks in a bra. However, turns out human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) can also be present in males and can indicate testicular cancer. If he didn't use somebody else's pee, I'd recommend getting to a doctor's office soon. -
I heard Akron is considering something similar although to increase efficiency beer drinkers will be required to consume their suds while standing in front of a urinal (located in a JAR restroom; no bringing your own urinal to the JAR). To increase beer sales they are seriously considering installing eye level TV screens. Now that's out-of-the-box thinking!

Save a few tears for the future. We were the worst FBS team this year and have been ouit-recruited so far this cycle by 6 MAC teams and 99 others.
-
Does that mean you want to bet "yes"?
-
Anyone want to bet that the Zips scheduled opening series actually gets played? The weather in Florence during February is only marginally better than it is in Akron so I'll go with "no." Any takers?

This took about ten seconds of research. Enjoy http://collegebaseballinsider.com/2020-akron-baseball-schedule/

Hey, the Zips are ranked in the top 25 mid-majors; they are even in the top 3 if you only count teams in Ohio. Look out Final Four, here we come!

I scored some sweet seats in section 101 at a low group rate. Is anyone tailgaiting? Be there or be square. https://seatgeek.com/venues/skelly-field-at-ha-chapman-stadium/seating-chart

Interesting. I just read a story that said the HL player of the week Patton played two years ago for Akron. Akron must have been trying to corner the Patton market.
-
Same Patton that was just named Horizon League player of the week?

Cursory examination of your statement gives the impression you would really give a lot for an arena like that; however when one realizes that you have three testicles the statement losses some of its strength.

MAC Men’s Basketball - Catch-all Thread

A perfect holiday basketball mini-tournament would include the Zips, UMKC, Austin College and any other team willing to change their mascot to a kangaroo. In addition, Austin college (D-III) would be a great way to get a W for the football team and help achieve the coolness you mentioned. -
The Zips put a lid on the Minute Men's attempt to escape the JAR with a win. It was a jarring experience for umASS.

And to you guys for covering the spread. Now take your freshly waxed rear ends back to new england.

The quality of the surrounding talent pool has a rather small impact on the quality of the recruits a team lands. If it was critical, both NMSU and the Zips would be a lot better than Boise State. Realizing that some on this board don't put a lot of importance on rating stars, I offer the following which shows that both Akron and NMSU land about the same quality of players. Shown for each team over the last 2.5 recruiting cycles is the 247 Sports recruiting class ranking, total recruits and number of 3-stars in the class. Looks pretty similar to me with an edge for the Zips so far this cycle. Not sure how successful NMSU has been in retaining their recruits, but I know they are one lousy football team. It's like they are the Akron of the southwest. Akron NMSU 2020 106 signed 20 / 13-3 stars 136 signed 5 / 4-3 stars 2019 115 signed 23 / 9-3 stars 119 signed 23 / 9-3 stars 2018 127 signed 16 / 4-3 stars 125 signed 20 / 6-3 stars

What ultimatum? Is this some disguised reference to a Jason Bourne movie?
