  1. Here was a post of yours after the Pitt game. Hindsight is 20/20, eh? I agree with this. From the moment I heard coach speak, I knew we had us a winner. Lose Big, Lose Small, Win Small, Win Big. Recruiting players who can win whatever it takes, wherever it takes...and bringing in transfers who can fill in while they develop talent. That is the template for building a winner and Bowden and company are bringing us a winner. Enjoy the ride Zips fans, it's going to be a fun year.
  2. They beat Pitt. Maybe the biggest OOC win ever.. Not get overly excited? Sure
  3. Well Can't has a fashion school that's tops from what I hear
  4. KD is missing the game. Hope everything is okay.
  5. MVP: Tree Biggest Surprise: Gladden Biggest Disappointment: Robotham - He's already suffering from the 2014 curse being too hyped before he even plays a second of D-1 basketball (Big Dog). Sorry I forgot to bold his nickname. He could have an average season as far as UA freshmen go and still be a disappointment at this point. Award Winners: Tree MAC POY Season Results: Who knows. Depends how KD coaches the young guys up. Does he play his best 7 or 8 or stick with Pat and Nyles and live/die by the 11 man rotation?
  6. You've reached the point where no one can reasonably argue with you
  7. Yes because I was implying everyone lives on Power Street.
  8. Ask Bill Simmons
  9. Possibly
  10. Yeah the landscape has changed, not arguing that.. My point was that let's not act like everyone is studying instead of going to the games. And to be fair, GP1, the 2014 Wake team is possibly the worst team to ever play in the ACC. You couldn't pay me to go watch them if I lived in Winston Salem.
  11. There's almost 30K students. Go take a walk down Power Street and tell me how many are there to study and get their degree ASAP. There are enough sports fans to draw to games if the product was worthwhile.
  12. What happened to our defense? They were on the field too much. They let up 6 points in the first half.. but after 51 rushing attempts, they wore down. Only 4.3 yards per carry allowed, which tells me that the first half was probably closer to 2 yards per carry until the levy broke. If the offense put up some points and kept the ball, BG wouldn't have been able to run 51 times, and we'd be praising the defense.
  13. Can't ever have too many QBs. Kincade is the real deal. Whether he is a good fit for Bowden, we'll see. He was setting all kinds of records at Blackhawk before he got hurt. Funny thing is, him and Chapman were both recruits that Pitt was thrilled to have. And now they're zips
  14. There isn't much talent on the offensive side of the ball. Hopefully some decent recruits are coming in.. Bowden could have a pretty special team if the offense can match the defensive side.
  15. I can see this is quickly going to become the most bizarre topic in the last two weeks.. But I think if every football stadium has the same policy, it'd be pretty weird to expect Akron to be different. And to sit through 1-11 seasons and then give up because you got wet? Sheesh
  16. Congrats. Remind me again, how many football stadiums allow umbrellas in?
  17. Pratt blew that one
  18. 11 pages and the game hasn't even started. I remember a couple years ago, this place was lucky to get over a page on a game thread. Regardless how silly some of the discussion has been, I'll say it's nice to have more zips fans around.
  19. Seriously if you can't get excited for this one, why even watch sports? A win puts us in first in the division and on track for a MAC championship appearance. Biggest game since Buffalo at the Rubber Bowl. Go Zips!
  20. This is the biggest game we've had in 5+ years.
  21. That's a relief, a mile+ long football field would be boring. The linemen wouldn't even make contact that far away.
  22. I don't know if I'm against the 3 point stance removal, I just.. can't really envision football without it. Would make sense, they'd be in a less vulnerable position. As for starting a yard further back, no thanks. That would make it less safe in my opinion, giving these guys running starts at each other. I think the closer they are, the less force they'll have when they hit.
  23. Now that Pohl is starting, I can see a UA win. I agree with GP1 when he says momentum and confidence are big. We've lost both.. But hopefully with Pohl back, we re-gain the confidence, and momentum will come back with a few nice drives. If we don't dig ourselves a big hole, I see a W. Would be nice to be 5-4 at this point with Buffalo, UMass and Can't State left.
  24. Amen
  25. Yeah makes me wonder if it was because he was thrust into the lineup earlier than anticipated or he was just never going to have it. Regardless, his 2013 MAC championship performance was one that was great to see. Might not be the prettiest box score but he really came through. Thanks, Melo.
