  1. Turnovers lost it. Defense played well enough to win but we beat ourselves. Good news is that there are still 5 winnable games coming up.
  2. I went to the Pitt-VT Thursday night and saw Pitt run a great deal of read option, something that Voytik was familiar with from high school. I'm not sure if we had enough time (pitt had a bye week to install it) to install a similar package for Tommy, but if so, I think it'd be a good move if that's something he ran at Gateway. If not, keep it simple. We're good enough to win without Pohl if we don't beat ourselves.
  3. They haven't let a win into that place in some time.
  4. UA 20 OU 13 I think the score will make the game look closer than it actually was. I wouldn't be surprised with a couple of dumb turnovers and empty red zone trips without Pohl.
  5. Keep in mind those numbers were at the Rubber Bowl and before on campus living doubled. I think UA would beat the 2000s numbers if they strung together some good seasons.
  6. They installed a lot of read-option over their bye week. I'd say 70% of his carries were read-option with Connor in the backfield. It was a nice game plan. Should have mixed in maybe one look to another WR but definitely a better game plan than against us. Not that I'm complaining.
  7. At least
  8. Sounds familiar. That's my argument for giving UA students better seats at the JAR. They're the future season ticket holders.
  9. Winning a soccer championship doesn't put butts in seats at a football game.
  10. Marketing was very good with Brad Swanson but he left for Illinois. I don't think they have a replacement yet.
  11. I agree. 4-2 isn't much in the grand scheme of things after 1-11, 1-11, 1-11 and 5-7. I do think after a couple winning seasons and bowl games we'll see decent crowds. As to zen's point, I totally agree. But I also think after some winning seasons, the media will pay a little more attention. Wishful thinking, perhaps, but NEO likes their football, and I think they'd get behind a winner.
  12. What's your point with your whole attendance diatribe? We all know it stinks so far, no one is arguing
  13. oh brother
  14. If it was up to you, the Eagles would be a lot less exciting. I know it's less likely that smaller players will succeed, but there are always exceptions.
  15. That is a great pic
  16. Sure would be cool if we had a beat writer that posted here that could help us out.
  17. Yes. I am discussing how you are wrong. Sorry that was harsh. You stated Hirschmann is better, I disagreed based on the Coaches also obviously disagreeing. I see no reason to not trust them.
  18. From what you've seen? How about let's trust what the coaches have seen. They seem to know what they're doing. If Hirschmann was better, he wouldn't be behind a Freshman on the depth chart.
  19. Already clamoring for the back up's back up. This is bizarre
  20. So you're telling me if we stop big plays, blitz, spy and play great coverage, we'll win? Interesting.
  21. Good defense always beats the good offense. 34-17 Zips.
  22. No one is mentioning that college kids go out at 11. If a game is at 8 you can either go to the game, or go out unless you leave early. If they want everyone to come and stay start it between 3 and 6:30. College kids don't want to get up for noon games either.
  23. Good defense and a QB that doesn't lose the game is good enough to win most MAC games.
  24. Oh brother
