  2. YSU's athletics budget is around $13.6 million. That's 65% of the very lowest MAC school's budget (BGSU at $20.7m). YSU is nowhere near ready to move to the MAC.
  3. It would only make sense if the MAC lost another Ohio school. This state is too oversaturated with MAC schools as it is.
  4. Not just in the basketball forum. Everywhere.
  5. Josh Williams named AP 1st team All-Ohio. Peter Agba's team will play in the Dick's Sporting Goods Nationals on April 2nd on ESPNU at 4 PM. This is a great chance to see a Zips recruit play against some of the best high school competition in the country, if anybody is interested.
  6. Former Zip Chris Bassitt gets the start against the Indians today in Cactus league play.
  7. The MAC had a deal in place to add UMass for all sports, as well as James Madison U (who would be an excellent addition). UMass backed out, and JMU was left standing at the altar. I still think JMU has plans to get into the MAC, and they have even turned down an offer for FBS football from the Sun Belt because of how strongly they would rather be a part of the MAC (or C-USA, but that looks significantly less likely). Right now, they're searching for a partner to make the move with, to avoid the 13-team problem. One candidate I've heard as a potential addition is Missouri State, who is already a MAC affiliate in multiple sports.
  8. Major academic issues. Couldn't qualify at WVU, but somehow can get into Miami. He was a part of this: http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/highschool/football/broward/fl-miramar-grade-manipulation-20141125-story.html Transferred somewhere else and committed to WVU, but couldn't get grades up to NCAA standards. It's a stretch to think he'll ever see the field.
  9. 6-0 win for the Zips.
  10. Buffalo didn't look particularly great in the MAC tournament or the NCAA tournament. They just came out on top of a conference plagued by parity. Still, the MAC as a whole was the best its been in a very long time, and the best teams return most of their players, while even the worst teams have made improvements. Next season's gonna be a good one.
  11. So much for that.
  12. As much as I would hate it if Buffalo won, thanks to their showboating in the MAC tournament and their whiny coach, it's good for the MAC and god for Akron because it provides a significant money boost. So go U@B! Help sponsor some JAR renovations!
  13. So I guess we're not as good as a professional team.
  14. The good news is that Chapman has had a year to learn the offense and hopefully mature a little. Still, everything is up in the air, and that's how it should be during spring practices.
  15. That's an excuse. Saving face on a dumb decision.

  17. They just copy and paste the survey year after year. Just another detail that gets overlooked. They really do add up.
  18. The thing is, we know that that system can be effective with the right QB. In fact, the best offense Bowden has had at Akron was with an up-tempo pocket passer.
  19. I think the issue might come from the default forum view only showing the past 30 days of active threads.
  20. Basketball ain't over yet. Zips WBB is in the WNIT. Great chance for a really young team to gain more tournament experience, and for Sina King to kick some more
  21. Somebody send this to the Akron athletic department!
  22. Our players will be as good as they want to be next season. What I'm hoping for is that the players remember what it felt like to be absolutely exhausted by the end of the tournament, and go all out this summer working on their conditioning, speed, and strength.
  23. Maybe. I would have a problem with his constant harassing of the refs. Leave that to the fans. Now he has a reputation built up with the MAC refs that will only hurt him down the line.
  24. Exactly. Can't sign many players when you only graduate two seniors. Top Drawer Soccer has Akron with two 2015 commits.
  25. DePaul is looking for a coach, and will pay at least 5x what Buffalo can.
