  1. He's also irritating when he's coaching in general. Harassing refs more often than the drunkest student sections and instilling a showboat attitude in his players. If a certain coach wasn't already infamous for throwing chairs around, that would be next for him.
  2. Pat and BJ are recovering and would be able to contribute. Three or four days off would feel like a lifetime for the players after this week. I hope they don't judge whether they would be up for it based on how they felt right after playing their fourth game in five days.
  3. The year before VCU went to the final four, they played in the CBI after a disappointing finish. They won that tournament with a young and talented team. Do you think without that experience they could have made it as far as they did the next season?
  4. I want them to play. Just not at the JAR. Don't waste money buying a home game. Hope they get matched up somewhere where they can do some sightseeing or get some good food.
  5. Jimond Ivey becomes eligible next season, right?
  6. It really depends on how tickets are distributed. The past two games, Zips fans might have noticed the group of noisy students and recent alumni that suddenly showed up in the empty corner section next to the two official Zips fan sections. Sharp-eyed fans might have noticed that that group originally was up in the furthest reaches of the arena in an upper corner before both games. This is where the athletics department bought tickets for the AK Rowdies. The furthest possible location, to make the least possible impact. After getting to their seats, and looking down on all the empty sections, they moved down on their own once the ushers stopped guarding the stairways. If there are more fans at the game, there is less of a chance for some of the loudest Zip fans to sit where anybody can hear them, since there won't be open seats and the Rowdies will have to sit where athletics wants them.
  7. Buffalo's arena is not large, but it is cavernous. Almost like a converted warehouse. Weird sightlines everywhere. I think the biggest advantage will be the crowd. Akron will have more fans at the game. And Akron fans are better than most MAC fans at sensing when they need to cheer to rally the team. If you watched yesterday, you saw that Can't fans would only cheer when their team was already doing well, and Akron fans would start cheers when their team looked down and out.
  8. Good news is that Pat is more rested than anybody from Buffalo, and he seems to be getting back into form. We'll need him, especially if Buffalo decides to go all in on perimeter defense and with Moss guarding the rim. Dambrot mentioned on the radio after last night's game that the biggest concerns for rest were Antino and Kwan.
  9. We're complaining because the officiating was so bad that Dambrot felt that he had to go out and get a T to show his players he will fight for them when they are getting screwed.
  10. Its this new format. You used to have four games the first two days, and you could watch your potential future opponents play for the next round. Now there's no reason to watch both games.
  11. Did you get there early enough to watch the EMU/BGSU game? If you did, I feel bad for you. They both looked as bad as or worse than WMU, but since they played each other and not a better team, the score created the illusion of a good game.
  12. The Zips will be ready. They've had their sights dead set on Can't. Their defensive intensity of NIU and WMU is proof of it. Pat will play better. He's feeling somewhat better but is just rusty.
  13. Some? That game was an atrocity against good officiating.
  14. One of the big reasons the Zips played so well against NIU is because they see Can't waiting ahead and want another shot at them. They want it badly. Nobody is going to stand in their way.
  15. Route 66?
  16. Great story on Pat Forsythe today.
  17. Turns out, they ARE playing at Highmark stadium.
  18. I like Kwan and think he can be a very good player. But he needs to remember that he's not a guard like he was in high school.
  19. UA boosts R&D spending significantly
  20. I expect either Noah or Antinto to move to starting SG next season. My favorite part of Antino's game is that he is willing to shoot the ball with a hand in his face.
  21. As he gets more players that share his attitude, the team will be plagued with technicals.
  22. Putting NeoMed 30 minutes from everywhere was a bad move. The state wanted to have it in a central location for all the partner universities, and in doing so put it needlessly far from the hospitals that a proper med school needs.
  23. Next game is Tuesday at Marshall. Just keep winning.
  24. Joe Dunn had Brunswick HS's basketball coach on today. Said Pat might try to play tonight.
