  1. I don't necessarily believe that. Too many variables. One of them being, I can never measure how hard someone will work in the offseason to get better. With hard work, many have overcome bigger obstacles. Even if he isn't the starter at the beginning of the season, I still wouldn't give up on him, he could possibly be one snap away from being the starter at some point.
  2. I'll attempt to try to bring this thread back on topic from the "I gotta have the last word" guys...once. I find it interesting in the WVU Kentucky matchup that Bob Huggins has beaten John Calipari in 8 of 10 lifetime matchups. Go Zips !!!! I wish this thread was as entertaining as the games will be.
  3. I think CK was the first to use this at ZN.
  4. The deal would put Hurley above the $550,000-a-year base-salary contract that Saul Phillips receives from Ohio University. All the of the increased money UB would give Hurley was raised from university donors over the past two or three weeks, a source told The News. Now that's stepping up. Good to see in the MAC.
  5. Me too, my brackets took a hit here. Right. How about Kansas tweeting a congrats to the Shockers? #TeamKansas Kansas scared to play Shockers. Nice try Rock Chalk Talk.
  6. Well written article. Looking forward to seeing him in action at the spring game.
  7. Interesting game, UB had their chances. I'm not a fan of the style of basketball that WV was playing yesterday. I hope the silver lining is that Hurley stays in the MAC.
  8. Wow, WV looks like they have come to play.
  9. 2:10 on TNT
  10. I don't know if anybody reads Dave Turley or not (I'm not endorsing), but here is one quote from his pay site. "...bet the odds to win the regional instead of the odds to win the whole thing. The reason for this is if your team gets to the Final Four and you want to hedge, you're gonna be paying a huge price to hedge with Kentucky on the money line. Teams I would consider: Iowa State at 9-2 to win the South and Baylor at 10-1 to win the West." Some Vegas "insider" Can't wait for todays upsets.
  11. I looked at the same when he transferred, and come to the same conclusion. If he were to win the QB competition and start for Akron, he would go from playing the likes of Walsh, Malone and Tiffin, to playing his first game against Oklahoma, and his second against Pitt. Pretty much the definition of apples to oranges.
  12. I don't have to waste my customer's time with that question. It was a mistake, in more ways than one. Luckily, there were parts of the survey where one could offer valuable information.
  13. I think its hard to measure a class when they get here, easier to do when a class leaves. Is this a sign of "progress" in the progum? "I come in here my freshman year and I saw one scout, to see eleven or more today is like god blessing us" Jawon Chisholm I think it's important for a talented recruit to see that he has a chance to reach the next level here at Akron. This is one way. Start at the three minute mark.
  14. I thought members might like to discuss throughout the next couple of weeks. All games here. UAB gets first upset of the tournament. A 14 knocks off a 3 seed. No excuses needed. If this game is an indication of how this tourney is going to go, it should be a good one.
  15. Hmmmmmm
  16. Interesting. His answer to this question seems to be ever-evolving. I guess it goes with the "We need to find a way to win at Akron" quote.
  17. I realize you are comparing seasons. But the Pitt upset last year has to be one of the biggest in school history, I had a pretty good time at that game. The year before, we should have beat Michigan, I had a blast at that game. Tennessee game was fun for a half of football in 2012, but the rest of the season BLEW. I almost jumped off the top of the bleachers when we lost to UMass at home!
  18. "Moss says by gameday, his ankle will be 100 percent." I would say the same though. Source
  19. Thought some might be interested. Friday, March 20, 2:10 PM on TNTNationwide Arena, Columbus, Ohio
  20. Are you more impressed by the leader of the free world picking UB to beat WV? Or you just don't like UB no matter who picks them?
  21. Your right, I have photos of his T, very boring (not animated), almost calculated. Looking back, all things considered, seemed like a good coaches move. Should be fun to see what he does against WV on Friday. Lot's of pundits picking UB.
  22. I don't even care if they "win" those games. It's just a great time to play a more talented team. It shows our players, and staff, how hard they need to work the rest of the season if the goal is to win an NCAA tournament game. That will be the type of team you will be playing in the tournament. Winning at the right time is the most important thing. Quality, not quantity. We got 21 wins, woopty doo. I'd rather have 19 and be playing tomorrow. I understand that with all the circumstances this year, the ncaa tournament was not possible, but it still wasn't a good schedule if everything did go "right." Our AD should be burning up his cell battery right now making this happen. Give us a schedule to succeed! Tired of being a paper champion.
