  1. Again, based on a half hour sampling...hustling defense with fantastic offensive movement away from the ball seemed to work for a LOT of very good looks at the hoop. I didn't get a quality look at their half court offense. CMU played right into their hands too often after beating the press.
  2. I had seats directly across from Hurley. I told my wife at the beginning of the game, "anytime I leave my seat and Hurley is acting up, grab my camera and shoot, it's all set up." I just downloaded my images yesterday and realized I have all these images of KD. I emailed her and said "what gives?", she replied "the Akron coach was the one running his yap every time you left." She took about 40 images of KD yelling at all three referees. The one in your above post had the best composition, the others aren't very artistic, just telling. I have a few of Hurley, but they are mostly of him being animated/coaching his players, not real interesting photography.
  3. More than "appears", he has said so in public on multiple occasions. That is why some of us have been assuming the job was Chapman's to lose. My eyes are trained to observe more than height, but your right, looking at somebody doesn't make them play good. I thought Patrick Nicely looked like a Div I QB!?! I thought Frye did too. Looking forward to watching Chapman actually PLAY. Hopefully he studies his craft at least half as much as Frye did.
  4. I watched a half hour of the game last night. Louisiana Tech sure is an entertaining team to watch. I might actually check out their next game if they happen to be on while I'm on the elliptical.
  5. I used to be in a similar quandary about football uniforms vs basketball officiating. Now that there is a thread for both, it is apparent to me. Have you ever been employed at a company where a new employee changes A to B? That employee moves on, and another employee is hired. This new employee changes B back to A. Both feel like they are earning their salary, but in fact, they really aren't doing a thing. The suggestion of a name change reminds me of this setting. I feel like GP1 would have nipped this thing in the bud a long time ago.
  6. Great to hear. Thanks for taking the time to post. I enjoy reading your unique perspective. Good luck to KC2 in the offseason.
  7. Posted here, and here.
  8. That would pretty much fall in line with what a few of us have been saying for about a year now, it's Chapman's job to lose.
  9. If this is an "issue" for you, here is your "fix."
  10. The tallest guy in the photo passes the eyeball test, the guy to his left looks like mobility outside the pocket may be an issue. PS Can't wait to read about the new red jerseys in the "it's time for another uniform change" thread.
  11. Going through some of my photography from the semi final game on Friday, I found this image that a couple KD fans may enjoy. I could probably start a thread on a slow ZN day with the topic "Caption This Photo."
  12. The Hawks all pass, drive and shoot from distance well. They are a very well coached team IMO. Budenholzer learned from Popovich, and I would be shocked if Budenholzer doesn't win coach of the year. It's proof that a great coach can get a team to play great team basketball without over complicating things. So if KD is going to change his style, I'm all for imitating Budenholzer, especially when it comes to his offensive philosophy...adjust your offense to your players skills.
  13. How many times would I have to read this for it to show up on their big electronic board?
  14. Topics merged. Thanks for looking up the old thread DiG. The old one was buried, but as a reminder, the search function at the top right of the page is a great tool. It is worth members doing a quick search before starting a new thread, chances are pretty good that the topic your about to start has already been produced in the last year. Here is a HOW TO incase you are unfamiliar with using the search function.
  15. Jay Bilas 12 Buffalo over 5 West Virginia: The Mountaineers press and force turnovers and do a nice job on the offensive glass. But this is a 5-versus-12 game, and Bobby Hurley's Buffalo team can break pressure to score. Remember, Buffalo played well at Rupp against Kentucky and was not at all scared. Buffalo pulls the upset here.
  16. One BILLION dollars in advertising. One BILLION. Wasn't there a thread somewhere saying this wasn't the biggest sporting event?
  17. Reads like somebody got to talk with coach Bowden today.
  18. Over a month and no stat update? Here is my "oddball stat of the day" for everybody filling out their brackets this week. 10 of last 11 NCAA tournament winners wore blue uniforms. The one exception: 2013 Louisville
  19. I would urge anybody that is curious, to ask coach Bowden "how did you end up here?" He is happy to share his story. The rest in my opinion is politics.
  20. I can't remember the exact phrasing Dambrot used in the post game show after the Buffalo loss, but yes, he indicated that he thought the program had surpassed such tournaments. But he gave more reasons than just that, mostly tired and beat up. He did say multiple times that he would check to see how the team felt also. As I stated before, taking all things that transpired this year, I think he made the correct decision.
  21. Should be a fast-paced one, as both teams rank among the top 25 in Division I in tempo. Source.
  22. Anybody happen to watch "I Hate Christian Latettner" an ESPN 30 for 30 film last night? Bobby Hurley was interviewed multiple times in his UB gear. Nice job by Rory Karpf.
  23. I might check out CMU if they were to make a run.
