  2. I haven't seen an official announcement, but from years passed I'll guess April 18th.
  3. 19 or 20 wins, if neither meant a bid to a tournament, what is the difference? I see zero benefit for the team. I get that it's fun for a few fans to try to justify some of their arguments, but that's about it. Postseason experience for this young(er) team would be very beneficial. It's just too bad it would be without Noah. With the way this team shoots, I hold little hope for post season success. I would love to be proven wrong. I saw a banner for the MAC tourney during an outside shot last night during the Cavs game. That got my blood pumping. If no type of tournament were involved, one could argue that 19 wins may actually be better than 20 for the future success of this team and staff. It might place a sense of urgency around the program, as opposed to complacency that it seems to be mired in. Doubt it, but it's possible.
  4. If they get the playing time.
  5. 1) Replace the player that isn't putting the ball through the hoop. 2) Increased shooting percentage by running plays that create good looks...not standing around and firing up three after three. I could care less if DI4 starts, just give him more minutes...and drink some damn pickle juice! Step it up trainer.
  6. Pretty good service too, but they better start advertising, or they won't be there long. The place was pretty empty before the Toledo game.
  7. Fans of the team don't care what a player does in practice, they want to see more of a player when they are producing during the game, and less when they are not. Not a mystery. Dambrot isn't the first coach to be wrong, and won't be the last. He often admits many of his in game mistakes during his post game pressers when he is emotional. I enjoy the honesty.
  8. True. He also put up the peach basket before the game, and took it down after. JH may not be a very relevant comparison, but DIG gets extra merit points from our AD for the Havlicek reference. #TeamOhio.
  9. Gotta give best hops to J Ball. Best dunk I have seen at the JAR was Antonio Daniels when he played for BG. Anthony Bufford was probably the Zip that hit the rim the hardest on a dunk...but maybe I was impressionable back then.
  10. Infocision stadium and the football team have taken all the available funding for basketball roster editing. Walters.
  11. The player that has a chance to be our "go to scorer" sits on the bench more than half of the game. How can you ever mold/coach/teach someone to even have a chance at that, when he is handicapped by lack of experience? I don't have to read a newspaper article to figure that one out.
  12. Game is on espn3
  13. If you can tell my the playing time minutes of DI4 and IJ23, I could give a more accurate answer.
  14. If DI4 is healthy, he needs more playing time. If IJ23 is healthy, he needs more treadmill time.
  15. There goes my NIT dreams. Get well soon Noah.
  16. While I'm out of town, and missed this game I did read in the Miami (Florida) paper the Zips were an eleven point favorite. Odd I can read that in a newspaper in Miami, but not in the Akron paper. Knowing nothing but a box score, Zipsnation always gives a pretty good feeling on how the team performed. Reads disappointing.
  17. Best dunk I have seen at the JAR in a decade.
  18. Weatherspoon #2 on ESPN top ten today
  19. From EA of the PD: Deji Ibitayo is nursing a sore back There seems to be a kryptonite opponent in the MAC for every team -- a school they just don't match up well against. For Toledo it's Can't State; for Can't State it's Buffalo; for Bowling Green, it's the Zips; and for the Zips it's Toledo. EA trumping GT on a comic book reference!?!? Will GT dress up in a costume tonight to overcome, stay tuned...
  20. It's on the Full Court package. 722 DirecTv.
  21. Not worth a new thread, but the Fear the Roo logo would incorporate well in these NFL concept designs. IMO, the Roo needs cropped and enlarged, like the above concepts. Still needs a stripe down the middle too. They need to hire someone to do 3D renderings of concepts, not real helmets with just a sticker.
  22. Zips favored by two and a half. Go Zips dot com preview Television: Time Warner Cable SportsChannel & ESPN3. I'm assuming ESPN3 will be blacked out again. Four players are scoring in double figures, including Julius Brown (16.4 ppg), Justin Drummond (13.2 ppg), J.D. Weatherspoon (12.5 ppg) and Jonathan Williams (10.9 ppg). Weatherspoon leads the team in rebounding (7.8 rpg).
  23. If only that 'Grate One' were still posting. Oh, would he be tickling his keyboard today. LeConomics (PD full article found here) Call it the LeBron James Effect. Or, if you prefer, LeConomics. They're the economic ripples James creates throughout the community simply by playing basketball in Cleveland. At The Q, where James has the Cavaliers looking like a legitimate contender to win the franchise's first NBA title, ticket sales are up. That means beer sales are up. Food sales, T-shirt sales, and parking revenue -- all up. The bars downtown, especially the ones the closest to The Q in the Gateway District, are having their best winter since, well, since James last played in Cleveland four years ago. Bar owners are reporting revenue increases on game nights of between 30 and 200 percent from last season.....continue reading more.
