  1. Smart has taken his name out of consideration for other potential gigs and will stay with VCU following rumors that he could leave VCU for Marquette. ESPN's Adam Finkelstein was first to report a synopsis of Smart discussing his future. Adam Finkelstein @AdamFinkelsteinShaka Smart spoke to VCU commits & their coaches yesterday & assured them he isn't going anywhere 9:13 AM - 25 Mar 2014
  2. That doesn't look like a schedule a senior citizen should endeavor.
  3. I would hope the eventual hire will have no cons.
  4. Your not that far off. I love the NFL, but change is needed. On Mondays and Thursdays I DVR games and start watching an hour after the game starts. Commercials solved. I also fast forward kickoffs, extra points, and punts...Zzzzzzzzz. On Sundays I watch the games on a four TV system, you would be shocked at how many times all four TVs are on commercial.
  5. Post game interview with Roy Williams “Let's not anybody lay it on the officials or anything like that. We didn't call the timeout with 1.6 seconds to play. The referee said that the clock operator started the clock late and they didn't recognize my calling the timeout, and then when they did recognize calling the timeout and went to the monitor, they realize the clock operator had started the clock late so there should not have been any time left when they did make the observation that we were calling timeout. So let's not lay this on the officials, and that's what my kids are saying. It's very difficult, but nobody's blaming the officials.”
  6. Speaking of the Sweet 16, did anybody happen to catch this piece Sunday morning? "Outside the Lines" tells the story of former coach Kevin Mackey, who took Cleveland State to the Sweet 16 for the first time before addiction led to his banishment from the top echelons of basketball for more than a decade. He is currently working for Larry Bird as a scout, and sounds like he wants to coach again. Somewhere like Cleveland State.
  7. Like Dave wrote, thread and discussion already started here at the end of the game last night. Feel free to express your opinion.
  8. One of the best predictors of the future is past behavior. "Act Boldly," I like it.
  9. Interesting choice on the format Gutenberg.
  10. Lewis won't sleep right for a month. Freshman gift wrapped mistake.
  11. Nobody is rooting for SF Austin more than this guy. https://tournament.fantasysports.yahoo.com/quickenloansbracket/2030973
  12. I am very impressed that you know everybody and their qualifications to discount them at this juncture.
  13. It's over in less than 30 hours, Stanford knocks out the last billion dollar player. Source Edit: Not so according to this. 20 out of 20 at the time of this post.
  14. Sorry, there is not an option to turn it "on" in our current software package. I would remove it if I could so as to not confuse.
  15. Deal. I sat through the last 10 years of mediocrity, what's 10 more. I hear the older you get, the faster time goes anyway.
  16. Great run. I loved Mercer +13 If NC can win by 4 tonight, I'll have monster day. I still remember when that little squirt Boykins took it to Duke in 96......ahhhhh someday.
  17. Have you ever rooted for a major sports franchise (NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL) that has won it all in the last 40 years?
  18. I would guess by now, or by Sunday night, everybody that entered is eliminated. I would expect a news story with more publicity about it on Monday.
  19. Topic started here.
  20. Seriously? Hell yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What kind of question is that?
  21. No, but don't let that stop you. Zipmeister might still take some action (from Aug 2013)?
  22. Mercer making a run at Duke. 63-63 2:05 left.
  23. Nice interview. Will be interesting what his 40 time is today, and what teams are there. I have always thought this might be true, cool to see an athlete say it. PennLive: You always hear if you can play in the NFL, the league will find you. Coming from a MAC school, do you think that’s true or false statement? Holmes: I think that’s more true than anything. A lot of guys think the bigger schools is the route to go. But in the NFL it doesn’t matter. You can go to any school and shine. In fact, I believe it hurts you at times being at a bigger school because you can’t shine as much as you can at a smaller school. MAC school, Division II or III, it doesn’t matter. If you stand out they will find you.
