Zips Wins - 6 Warren Ball rushing yards - 332 ? Reception Leaders - Tra’Von 48, Coney 38, Smith 30, and Wolf 27 Defensive sacks - 16 The Zips have had one sack in the last month. Hopefully they can rack up multiple sacks next Tuesday. I don't think anybody will catch Tra in receptions. That win total better be 7 next time this week. I want that wheel.

Careful what you wish for, given the chance, the Zips December team will be different from the team the Rockets played in October. Good luck. Like last night, we'll be bringing the turnover chain to Detroit.

I'll give honorable mention to @feetg10 and @g-mann17 for voting that Ouellette would have under 75 yards rushing, and the Zips would win. While I thought the Zips would win, I thought there was little chance the Zips could contain Ouellette the way they did. Just a fantastic effort upfront even after they lost Camara.

In his interview after the game, he stated that he watched a lot of film this week, and took what the defense gave him. He said he started underneath, and when they moved in on him, he took it over the top. Coach Bowden also said that they worked with him to move the ball forward, and to not take so many backwards plays. If Kato can continue to progress as much as he did from last week to this week, Zip fans can be in for a fun ride. Edit: Coney was in an arm sling when he was celebrating with the team.

"Ah, don't kid yourselves Akron fans, the Zips are going to a bowl no matter what now" - Steve French

Zips win, Kato throws for 212 more yards than Rourke, and the Zips hold Ouellette to 74 yards, no winners this week. Yet I feel like all voters probably feel like they did.

Duquesne Basketball Coach Keith Dambrot
Dr Z replied to Valpo Zip's topic in Off Topic, Smack & Jokes
General warning: Keith Dambrot coached at Akron for more than a decade, and is a big part of what Akron basketball is today. He will be talked about for years to come on ZipsNation. The majority of that discussion will happen in this thread. If, for whatever reason, you are not a fan of that, please do not harass members that want to be a part of it, simply do not click on the thread. -
Not sure how The Post knows this info, from 8 pm last night? Thomas Woodson, who was suspended for the Miami game last week, will make his return against Ohio. A senior, Woodson runs the Akron offense nearly single-handedly. OU received two votes in the coaches Top 25 poll this week. The poll reads like our schedule: Others Receiving Votes; Virginia Tech 94; Northwestern 67; Arizona 54; Boise State 40; South Carolina 33; Iowa 16; Kentucky 16; Army 14; San Diego State 11; Iowa State 9; Troy 5; Ohio 2.

No doubt. I changed the lock to 7 pm. Hope that helps some members.

Isaiah averaged 2.9 assists per game last year. 1.6 the year before.

ESPN replay found here.

None. While I think it's a good idea, and would be fine, the people making the decision likely remember "10-Cent Beer Night" in Cleveland that ended with a riot.

• Announcement on Woodson coming later this week. ? • Sticking with Gasser at kicker. • Sands broken fibula, out for the year. ? • Kato only had a couple of days at 1st team reps • We have to run the ball better. • Best Ohio team since I (TB) have been here. Good on both sides of the ball. • Every week someone's cell phone rings with an old time ringer, happened again. Should become a drinking game.

(A scheduled) 1 pm Bowden press conference today. Should learn something. Hopefully, it will show up here later today.

Duquesne Basketball Coach Keith Dambrot
Dr Z replied to Valpo Zip's topic in Off Topic, Smack & Jokes
Good, or bad, one thing that will change for KD is media coverage. This is a site I pay for, and worth every penny; Mike Lewis II takes road less traveled to stay at Duquesne. Lots of KD info in this 3000 word article with quality photography. "After Ferry’s firing, report after report surfaced of several candidates turning down the job. For a two-week span, the Dukes were without a coach as the administration struggled to find someone willing to take the reins. Then Keith Dambrot entered the picture on March 27" "Dambrot describes himself as a Tasmanian Devil in the practice setting, but a teddy bear outside of it. He can be intense and sometimes ruthless to the point where it comes across as unforgiving. His style forced some to adjust, Dambrot admitted, although Lewis II has seemingly taken it in stride.“If I’m going to get him to where he needs to be, I might have to do it more myself as opposed to one of the assistants working with him,” Dambrot told DKPittsburghSports.com." -
Discuss answers below. I realize these questions hinge on who will be under center for the Zips, so feel free to wait for that answer. The last two TFT™ polls will appear on Fridays since the games will be on Tuesdays.

How did we go from reading about the MAC player of the week, to this so fast. ?

Still, an impressive run.

Zips Wins - 5 Warren Ball rushing yards - 332 ? Reception Leaders - Tra’Von 40, Coney 37, Smith 28, and Wolf 22 Defensive sacks - 16 It's possible that Wolf could have fewer (than 36) catches this season than he did last season, with JoJo getting 59 and Lane getting 62 catches. I never would have guessed that at the beginning of the season. It's starting to look as though the sack total might go under with a month of very little production in the area.

Officially, he was suspended from last night's game. The wording of "tonight's game", indicates to me that he has a chance to play against OU, but as of right now, no official word. Stay tuned. I would have felt better if he were on the sidelines, but he "did not make the trip" last night.

WRONG, 19 carries for 12 yards. If you would have given me that stat before the game started, I would have had a good idea of the outcome. No winners this week.
