  1. I saw the RG pull once for a 5 yard gain. That was nice.
  2. I’m thinking Kato will lead the Zips in rushing tonight ?
  3. ESPN2 will televise the game with Kevin Negandhi (play-by-play), Rocky Boiman (analyst), and Quint Kessenich (sideline) calling the game. Junior RB Kenny Young is Miami's top rusher with 587 yards and four touchdowns on 116 carries. Junior QB Billy Bahl is 61-of-117 for 820 yards and five touchdowns. Junior WR James Gardner is the leading receiver with 847 yards and nine touchdowns on 42 receptions. Defensively, junior LB Brad Koenig has 70 tackles, three sacks, three hurries, three break-ups, and a forced fumble. In the NCAA stats, Miami is ranked No. 20 in passing yards per completion (14.13), No. 26 in net punting (40.44), and No. 37 in red zone defense (0.778). Junior WR James Gardner is No. 3 in receiving touchdowns (9), No. 6 in receiving yards (847), and No. 31 in total touchdowns (9). AKRON-MIAMI CONNECTIONS Miami has three players from the Akron area on its roster– freshman TE Adam Mehelic (Hudson, Ohio | Hudson HS), freshman WR Dominique Robinson (Canton, Ohio | Canton McKinley HS), and freshman DB Donte Taylor, Jr. (Akron, Ohio | St. Vincent-St. Mary HS). One more victory, and the Zips will be bowl eligible for the second time in three seasons– a feat that has never been reached in program history.
  4. Redhawks favored by 5.
  5. That was a short questioner. ?
  6. Agreed. If you would like to discuss politics, there are plenty of forums to do so. ZipsNation was not created to discuss politics. PLEASE take it elsewhere, or you will lose your privilege to post here. Members who have problems with specific poster should take advantage of this option.
  7. Morgan run for nine yards between the tackle and guard. Pass play to TW's left. The one 8 bobbled and almost caught in the end zone. Pass play out of the end zone to 3. Run play Morgan off tackle right. I could post more, but I think you get the idea, no matter run or pass, tackle up, guard down, at least for the BSU game. I'll keep a better eye out Tuesday.
  8. Alvin was out for the Buffalo game because of a targeting hit, he is in for the Miami game. Coach was happy that even with his two starting (the season) safeties out, he was able to fill their positions with quality depth.
  9. I tried looking in the Toledo photo gallery. Not much. Can't find anything in the Huskies page.
  10. Troy leads the nation in red zone defense. Ohio St is 9th, Notre Dame is 14th, the Zips are 19th.
  11. From George's article (above). “When it comes to someone who seems to make the most plays, which would say which one would eventually garner the most time, if he can get to where he knows what he’s doing …” Bowden said. “Deltron’s kind of moving into that position now.” It will be interesting to see how many carries he gets Tuesday. Nice article, I would have liked to see any photo of Deltron included. PS I wonder if this play was talked about in the film room. I value TW4's shoulder too much to see him running next to 22.
  12. Press conference notes. • We had no idea Jackson was going to play. We didn't get the Jackson that could run. • Deltron has a nice little side step. He has explosive plays. He makes bigger plays off the same things we have been calling. You say what's the difference in the run game, it's him. • Tommy is efficient • Kevin Gladney got the game ball for his TD catch • Alvin is okay for this week. • Our depth is getting better. Guiser and Alvin out, able to fill in with quality depth. • Penalties continue to get better. We emphasized it more than I have ever done in my life.
  13. Coach Bowden, "Tommy Woodson was 7 for 12 on third downs. He was on fire." Coach Bowden, "We don't do much transfer recruiting now a days" Nice piece on double D.
  14. After answering 9 in a row (ZN unofficial record), @Lee Adams answers scare me. ?☠️? Nothing against you Lee, but I hope your amazing streak comes to an end.
  15. Here is the play I speak of. Watch Ritz pull and lead the way. I would like to see a few more of these Tuesday.
  16. Our last three games on the schedule will be in bad weather, I think the Zips will have to improve their run game to be successful this month. I like what I saw at the end of the game last week. I thought Sands was able to take advantage of the defense over pursuing. Including next week, it will be six games without Ball, and he will still be the Zips leading rusher through mid November. I remember earlier in the season pulling the Guard and running counters through that hole, I don't recall seeing that recently. I thought that was a successful play that was helping to move the chains. Akron is ranked 19th in the country in Red Zone Defense, I'm not overly worried about the Bobcats offensive drives.
  17. Discuss answers below.
  18. Thomas Woodson earned Mid-American Conference Player of the Week honors for the East Division, the league announced on Monday. Woodson took home Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Gasser was named Specialist of the Week. In Akron’s 21-20 win over Buffalo, Woodson went 21-of-29 for a season-high 286 yards and three touchdowns. Woodson moved into second place on the Akron career list with 6,829 passing yards Woodson is also No. 2 in career passing touchdowns (53).
  19. Congrats to only 11 members who predicted Thomas Woodson to start the most games for the Zips this year.
  20. Graphic shown on Sunday night NFL game.
  21. "...In the expanded role, where Featherstone is splitting series with junior Jordan George, the Penn Hills product collected a career-high 11 tackles, including seven solo, in a 22-17 loss at Troy on Sept. 23..." Hard to tell the snap counts, but Shawn was all over the field Saturday. Impressive if 2 and 7 are splitting time, and were the leading tacklers Saturday!?!? A product of Buffalo chucking the ball around 50 times on rainy day, but still impressive. From my perspective (which is tough sometimes, especially with weather) other than Featherstone, I thought Brian Bell was seeing the field very well.
  22. Zips Wins - 5 Warren Ball rushing yards - 332 ? Reception Leaders - Tra’Von 37, Coney 35, Smith 22, and Wolf 19 Defensive sacks - 16 Coney, 7 catches yesterday. Closing the gap....
