  1. I've heard this somewhere before. "I don't know if I would say important,'' coach Terry Bowden said of Ball in the backfield. "He is critical. If we can put the ball in his hands 30 times a game, it gives us a lot more time to get our answer to the quarterback question."
  2. ESPN3 will be providing live coverage of the MAC media day starting at 11 am.
  3. I would say in the last year, he has put in some work.
  4. Saquon Barkley's freak-show legs carry Heisman hype and Penn State's title hopes (full story) Sports Illustrated PETE THAMEL Wednesday July 19th, 2017 ...Both Barkley and the program’s leap forward can be tied to the December 2015 arrival of (former Zips coach 2004-08) offensive coordinator Joe Moorhead from Fordham. Moorhead installed an RPO-spread that highlighted the mobility of quarterback Trace McSorley and used tempo to compensate for an undermanned line. The offense distributes the ball to soft areas of the defense by giving the QB multiple options to run or pass based on a presnap read. That means Barkley is often steaming into holes where the defense is outnumbered, or he’s isolated against slower players in open space...
  5. Agreed! I hope the team's weight room work (viewed on social media), is rewarded on the field.
  6. Some of those transfers aren't listed on that roster, example: "Holgorsen announced Monday the additions of tight end Jovani Haskins and wide receiver T.J. Simmons. Haskins is from Miami, and Simmons from Alabama" I'm sure there are plenty more, but it's hard enough to follow the Zips transfers, let alone WVU's. Maybe WVU's board has a Comprehensive New Players Listing thread?
  7. Kangoeroes Basket Willebroek is a basketball club based in Willebroek, Belgium. The team plays in the Belgian Basketball League since 2013. The club was founded in 2009, as a result of a merger between BBC Kangoeroes Willebroek and Boom BBC. The team name was BBC Kangoeroes-Boom, but in summer 2013 the team was renamed Kangoeroes Basket Willebroek. In the 2013–14 season Kangoeroes started playing in the professional Ethias League, after the club received a C-licence from the Belgium Basketball Federation. This license allowed the team to play with a lower budget than other teams. They play in the Sporthal de Schalk Arena, which has a 1,000 seat capacity. The team has not finished very well in the league, so Kwan's addition should have an immediate impact on their future accomplishments. Fear the Roes?
  8. IMO, there was only inarguably, one. I am not clairvoyant enough to know who the most talented teams are in the month of July. With a healthy Woodson and Ball, the Zips will be in the mix. Akron will win or lose the MAC in the month of November, and that is a long way off. Enjoy the weather. ?
  9. ZipsNation will be following! Best of luck.
  10. Seemed to work for the 2015 MAC guy (AB) Moss trained with.
  11. The Pitt offense ran the ball effectively (340 yds), controlled the clock (36 to 24 minutes), had great red zone success, and made less mistakes. Good offensive plan in any game, right? I don't think the Zips can be as successful on offense as Pitt (400+ & 6 TDs), so I would hope they play better defense. I don't see the Zips winning in a high scoring shootout like that game, but I have been wrong before. The Pitt/Penn game this year is 3:30 before the Zips play Arkansas-Pine Bluff at 6:30 on 9/9, so that could be entertaining tailgate watching. PSU defense will be wore down from chasing around Ball and Company the week before, so Pitt should be able to run the ball again. ?
  12. The National Football League champions, prior to the merger between the National Football League (NFL) and American Football League (AFL) in 1970, were determined by two different systems. The National Football League was established on September 17, 1920, as the American Professional Football Association (APFA). The APFA changed its name in 1922 to the National Football League, which it has retained ever since.[1] From 1921 to 1931, the APFA/NFL determined its champion by overall win–loss record, with no playoff games;[2] ties were not counted in the winning percentage total.[3] The APFA did not keep records of the 1920 season; they declared the Akron Pros, who finished the season with an 8–0–3 (8 wins, 0 losses, 3 ties) record, as the league's first champions, by a vote of the owners.
  13. What will coach Amato's plan of attack be?
