That would be the best improvement to the JAR, and for the team.

MTB has scored a touchdown in four straight games this year, Marshall, App St, two in Kent, and then Miami. Has anybody else on the team done that this year? I wonder what his injury is?

15, 17, something unreal for Akron. I'm not getting into another one of these off topic debates. 2015 national rankings opponents yards per game.
-
Not sure? We had a top 15 defense in the nation last year. Top 15, at Akron. This year's team is young and injured on the defensive side of the ball. It's not fun to watch right now, but that's the hand coach Amato is dealt. Next year, most returning starters will be older, stronger, more experienced, and hopefully healthy. I would also guess (from a successful history) we will have two new players in the front seven rotation next year that aren't on the team this year. I hope that is enough to make a difference. The one change that I would like to see for the remainder of this year is some secondary blitzing. We have to take some chances to create turnovers to help us get stops. On offense for the remainder of the year, I would run less on first down in the first half of games. Beat BG, and get bowl eligible so all the young guys can get some more practice. Go Zips! Go Bowden Ball, Year 5, 6, 7, 8...

Congratulations to UAZippers, zippyfan34, LZip, kreed5120, 72 Roo, zippy_ua_00, and Hilltopper. They answered all three questions correct. Woodson threw for 316 yards, and Toledo rushed for 290 yards.

The Zips have had 3 halftime leads this year.

Interesting. I wonder how other coaches (Owens/JD...) compare? You could also use odds. I thought I remember Pitt being the biggest upset in Akron's history (odds-wise), no? Michigan should have been.
-
Both games on at basically the same time. As a fan of both, I'm choosing the Zips tonight, I was wondering if anyone is doing the same? Feel free to describe how you might do both, one, or none...

The original question.

Again, take this site with a grain of salt, but Warren Ball is not listed for the first time in a long time. I'm not sure Ball playing will change any of my answers, but some may consider.

20. Western Michigan With Boise State falling to defeat at Wyoming, the bye week has been kind for Western Michigan. That leaves them as the frontrunners to be the top team outside of the Power-5, provided they can keep winning, and their season-opening win over Northwestern looks pretty decent at this point. Inside linebacker Robert Spillane leads the team with 25 defensive stops, which has helped him to an 84.8 overall grade.

Injured yesterday. The injury happened midway through the game and was a very somber moment for the Chargers, who have already several significant knee injuries this season. As the training staff looked at Brown on the field, several of his teammates were kneeling on the ground near him in concern. That being said though, he did manage to walk off the field on his own power. At this point the extent of the injury is not known, but it’s easy to fear the worst for the young linebacker. If it does end up being serious and he’s forced to miss more time than just the second half of Sunday’s game, it would be a very significant loss for the Chargers. Brown, a fifth round pick this year out of Akron, has been filling in for the injured Manti Te’o and has been doing an excellent job thus far. He’s even earned high praises from several of his teammates.

Feel free to discuss your answers below. Members that answer all three correctly will be recognized Thursday morning.

The Zips are an eight and a half point underdog. The weather looks to be great (High 76 with 10 percent chance of rain) for November. Hopefully the Indians can win on Tuesday so there isn't a game 7 conflict for some.

I'll guess no, and I'm a Doctor.

A few notes from last night. Thanks to Zach for suggesting Betternet so I was able to avoid the "Blackout", and watch the game. Took minutes to download, and minutes to install. We have got to have better snaps. Multiple, multiple low snaps effected the timing of so many pass plays. If I played the Zips I would never pass the ball. It's maddening watching the ease of opponents getting 6 yards on first down. We had so many unsuccessful inside runs Woodson started throwing his arms up in the air to the sideline. Speaking of Woodson, for the members that didn't get to view the game, the camera showed Woodson stretching out his shoulder multiple times. Doing "windmills." Alvin Davis leads the team in tackles again. The receivers have been so good this year, I hate to write this, but how many TD passes did we drop yesterday, four? When 9 doesn't make a spectacular catch, I'm disappointed. He is that good. You can watch his TD catch and punt return TD here. Like many have said, I'll miss him next year. BTW, what a terrible coaching call kicking it to him in that situation. I wish the Zips could have made it hurt worse so it was a bigger story. For the first three quarters every time they showed the stands, I saw nobody, not one fan. In the fourth quarter, I saw a couple dozen. Denzel Jones Jr. run the ball hard late. Does anybody know if Ball was dressed? Still looking forward to the Toledo game Wednesday. Get it back on track, this is the Mac, crazy things always happen. I'm sure Bowden will say "all our goals are in front of us", and he is correct. I wish we could have played this game at near one hundred percent healthy.

Nobody predicted Jerome to not have a TD. No winners this week. The Zips only had 128 yards rushing, and obviously didn't win. Better luck next week.
-
What did Ohio do successfully to beat Toledo? Just looking at the stats, they ran the ball effectively, and stopped the run. The Zips are not very good at either right now. Brown leads Ohio to 31-26 win; 1st win at Toledo since 1967 ESPN3 replays.

Did the same. Solid advice. Thanks. Now, can you convince Woodson to take that glove off?
