  1. This has become an annual thread (sort of), so we will continue. 2016 - 2015 - 2014 Feel free to explain your thoughts below...they won't be worse than Mel Kiper's useless opinions. Is there a franchise QB this year? How many QB's will go in the first round? How many QB's will be drafted? Cole Thompson from the USA Today has Wyoming's Josh Allen at number 5 overall !?!
  2. I know Miami ended up losing, but I found this interesting ? Ibrahima Camara (@ibrahimaXcamara) 12/26/16, 12:42 PM We blew Miami OH out and there beating Mississippi State ? smh
  3. Nick Johns could have stayed at Virginia, but he’d have to stop playing the only position he’s known since high school. “We were at meetings after spring ball,” Johns told The Daily Progress, “and the coaches basically said they wanted to switch me to running back or linebacker.” Johns, a redshirt freshman quarterback, announced his decision to transfer from the Cavaliers on Wednesday morning, posting to Twitter that UVa granted him an unrestricted release to play elsewhere. 5. Worth watching the very end of this game (I love ESPN3) to see how YSU won. The TE caught the ball on a defenders back, and went to the ground with it on his back...on the last play of the game. Trying to decide what is worse, Pelini's clock management, or the field color
  6. Miami Beach Bowl today at 2:30 on ESPN. Last college game for Cooper Rush. Chips are a thirteen point underdog. Elton preview here. Photo by Thomas Ondrey

  8. ....the MAC is in line to get an estimated $18 million from the college football playoff pool that goes to each of the 10 D1 football conferences. 9. Good question. I saw Tyler Gabriel being interviewed on his recent success yesterday, and JoJo popped into my mind. It's a cliche, but it's true, it's a copycat league. Within the last year, I stood next to JoJo, and Travis Benjamin, if there is a difference in their size and weight, I can't see it. TB is listed at 175...no way. I don't know know if JoJo has NFL aspirations. I hope he is at Akron's pro day. JoJo is rated 46 out of 382 WR's here. Also listed at 165. How many receivers did you watch in college football this year that have more talent than JoJo? This is a year old, but you get the idea. 25 Lightest Players in the NFL 1Patrick MurrayKTB5' 7"160 2Cairo SantosKKC5' 8"160 3Jalen SaundersWRNO5' 9"165 4Nickell RobeyCBBUF5' 8"165 5Trindon HollidayWRSF5' 5"166 6Taylor GabrielWRCLE5' 8"167 7Dexter McClusterRBTEN5' 8"170 8Dri ArcherWRPIT5' 8"173 9Damaris JohnsonWRHOU5' 8"175 10Onterio McCalebbCBCIN5' 10"175 11Travis BenjaminWRCLE5' 10"175 12Marcus SherelsCBMIN5' 10"175 13Tony CarterCBDEN5' 9"175 14Robert NelsonCBCLE5' 9"175 15Chris WilliamsWRCHI5' 8"175 16Elbert MackCBHOU5' 10"175 17Tavon AustinWRSTL5' 8"176 18De'Anthony ThomasRBKC5' 8"176 19Alex HeneryKDET6' 1"177 20Solomon PattonWRTB5' 9"177 21T.Y. 10. Too bad this game isn't at the JAR, I would have liked to seen The Scoring Machine play in person. Two Texas players go at it, Antino vs The Scoring Machine Keene. Will Marcus Keene Be College Basketball's 1st 30 PPG Scorer in 20 Years? by Kerry Miller ...after the awe subsided from Keene's recent 40 burger against Green Bay—his fifth consecutive game with at least 31 points and his eighth time reaching 30 in just 10 games—the college hoops nation is left wondering whether Central Michigan's 5'9" lead guard can do that which hasn't been done in two decades. It's painfully easy to dismiss Keene's scoring as an early anomaly. Even CMU head coach Keno Davis thinks it's unlikely he keeps it up, telling Bleacher Report this week: "He is going to see more and more attention. We don't expect his numbers to be able to sustain where they're at... All Hail Marcus Keene by Jordan Rinard ...the big stories out of the MAC so far this season has been the play of Central Michigan’s Marcus Keene, as he has established himself as one of the top scorers in the nation with 30.8 points per game. With a 25-point performance against a solid Illinois team on Saturday in a losing effort, Keene is putting the team on his back and makes CMU a very dangerous team once it enters MAC play... Check out the spin move and the three at the end of the game (5:40).
  11. Agreed. It was a very obvious call. It doesn't matter if it was "happening all game". If you make it obvious when the ref is looking right at you, you force the him to call it. Nonissue since after the call the Zips had possession down by only 3 with a ton of time (9:18) left. Plenty of opportunity to execute. Replay of the game is on the right side of this page. (incase others missed GoZags previous post)
  12. That would be awesome.
  13. Boooooooo, I like the Zips recruiting from this sourounding area. Does he still have that Kiffin's Krimson Korner show?
  14. 10 most impressive individual performances from Sunday’s games. 1. Janoris Jenkins, CB, New York Giants One of the big reasons the Giants were able to come out on top against Dallas on Sunday night, as well as slow down what had been an unstoppable juggernaut of a Cowboys offense, was the performance of Jenkins against Dak Prescott and Dez Bryant. Jenkins was targeted eight times, allowed just two catches for 17 yards, and gave up a passer rating of 0.0 for the game, about 40 points lower than if Prescott had just thrown the ball into the turf every snap. Jenkins caught as many passes intended for Bryant as Bryant managed to bring in himself (one).
  15. One is based on statistical accomplishments, while the other is based on potential. In addition, they are two different leagues. The NFL has parity among it's participants.
  16. There is a handle on the upper left (of the quote box), try clicking on that and hitting delete, does that work?
  17. I would be a little surprised if he does, but I really don't know how they decide who gets invited. Keep in mind Jatavis didn't get invited to the underwear olympics either, but there were thirty scouts from twenty-two different teams at Akron's pro day last year. I would expect the same crew this year. Edit: There were more than 30 receivers drafted last year, 20 in rounds 5 or higher.
