  1. Too bad this game isn't at the JAR, I would have liked to seen The Scoring Machine play in person. Two Texas players go at it, Antino vs The Scoring Machine Keene. Will Marcus Keene Be College Basketball's 1st 30 PPG Scorer in 20 Years? by Kerry Miller ...after the awe subsided from Keene's recent 40 burger against Green Bay—his fifth consecutive game with at least 31 points and his eighth time reaching 30 in just 10 games—the college hoops nation is left wondering whether Central Michigan's 5'9" lead guard can do that which hasn't been done in two decades. It's painfully easy to dismiss Keene's scoring as an early anomaly. Even CMU head coach Keno Davis thinks it's unlikely he keeps it up, telling Bleacher Report this week: "He is going to see more and more attention. We don't expect his numbers to be able to sustain where they're at... All Hail Marcus Keene by Jordan Rinard ...the big stories out of the MAC so far this season has been the play of Central Michigan’s Marcus Keene, as he has established himself as one of the top scorers in the nation with 30.8 points per game. With a 25-point performance against a solid Illinois team on Saturday in a losing effort, Keene is putting the team on his back and makes CMU a very dangerous team once it enters MAC play... Check out the spin move and the three at the end of the game (5:40).
  2. Agreed. It was a very obvious call. It doesn't matter if it was "happening all game". If you make it obvious when the ref is looking right at you, you force the him to call it. Nonissue since after the call the Zips had possession down by only 3 with a ton of time (9:18) left. Plenty of opportunity to execute. Replay of the game is on the right side of this page. (incase others missed GoZags previous post)
  3. That would be awesome.
  4. Boooooooo, I like the Zips recruiting from this sourounding area. Does he still have that Kiffin's Krimson Korner show?
  5. 10 most impressive individual performances from Sunday’s games. 1. Janoris Jenkins, CB, New York Giants One of the big reasons the Giants were able to come out on top against Dallas on Sunday night, as well as slow down what had been an unstoppable juggernaut of a Cowboys offense, was the performance of Jenkins against Dak Prescott and Dez Bryant. Jenkins was targeted eight times, allowed just two catches for 17 yards, and gave up a passer rating of 0.0 for the game, about 40 points lower than if Prescott had just thrown the ball into the turf every snap. Jenkins caught as many passes intended for Bryant as Bryant managed to bring in himself (one).
  6. One is based on statistical accomplishments, while the other is based on potential. In addition, they are two different leagues. The NFL has parity among it's participants.
  7. There is a handle on the upper left (of the quote box), try clicking on that and hitting delete, does that work?
  8. I would be a little surprised if he does, but I really don't know how they decide who gets invited. Keep in mind Jatavis didn't get invited to the underwear olympics either, but there were thirty scouts from twenty-two different teams at Akron's pro day last year. I would expect the same crew this year. Edit: There were more than 30 receivers drafted last year, 20 in rounds 5 or higher.
  9. Upgraded to 4.1.17 In addition to small bug fixes, this release includes a few new embed providers users may like. codepen.io coub.com deviantart.com docs.com funnyordie.com gettyimages.com iFixit.com kickstarter.com meetup.com mixcloud.com mix.office.com on.aol.com reddit.com reverbnation.com screencast.com screenr.com slideshare.net smugmug.com ustream.tv There is some reindexing going on in the background that may cause some performance issues, but this should clear up by noon.
  10. Every teams scouts know all the top receivers in the MAC. I just read Roger Lewis is outsnapping Victor Cruz.
  11. If you are speaking of draft-able, since that seems to be the topic at hand, I have learned one thing in following decades of NFL drafts. There is no comparing. A player (and agent) only need to convince one team that they fit on their organization...for whatever reason. 31 other teams don't matter. Among dozens of good examples, here is one that most relate to: Johnny Manziel. He wasn't even on some draft boards. He (and agent) convinced one team that he could help them. And it worked. I hope Jerome can convince the proper team (for him to succeed) to draft him. If not, I hope he is able to sign (free agent) with that team. I also hope he stays healthy throughout camp and preseason so he can showcase his talents. Another example: Mike Mitchell OU safety 2009. Lots "rated" above him. Wasn't invited to combine. Drafted in 2nd round. Most draft "gurus" didn't have him on their list. He convinced one team. Good luck Jerome. I hope he gets on the right team.
  12. No, I think it has to do with the ‘grade’ the NFL College Advisory Committee gave him.
  13. PLEASE....someone video this, and post it here. What is the over/under of rolls on the court? This surely could be taken wrong way. ...but does have possibility of making a Friday ESPN piece. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lF5fXJI3XIo
  14. PFF's #5 2017 NFL draft prospect is.... "Our love for Corey Davis is extensive and has long been documented, and that will not change even if he does not test out in February with elite speed numbers. He is the rare complete package at the position, as his size, route-running ability and competitiveness with the ball in the air makes him a dangerous target to all parts of the field, and his blocking ability far exceeds that of most of his power five conference counterparts. For his career he has caught 251 balls, has 44 touchdowns and has forced 41 missed tackles after the catch." What I would give to play Jan 2nd in the Cotton Bowl at AT&T Stadium.
  15. I agree with this, best game I watched at the JAR. The name Ali Kart will be forever burnt into my memory because of this game. Great time for MAC basketball. Two bid conference. NBA players. Hilltopper referenced the game here. Looking forward to this book, will it be available for Christmas?
  16. OU grad Peter King...."Bobcats showed up Friday night. Congrats, Ohio, on putting the big scare into Western Michigan in the Mid-American Conference title game. Congrats to the Broncos on a great year and great win Friday night. Looks like the coach, P.J. Fleck, who seems to like the GoPro cameras, will have his pick of a few good jobs."
  17. Zips are a 14 point underdog. Creighton has covered 4 of 5 ATS. The moneyline is about 10 to 1 if you think the Zips can win the game outright. Zips are ranked 77th, Creighton ranked 13th in this power ranking. Fox Sports 2 Nationally on DirecTV channel 618 and Dish Network channel 397‏ Online: For those with Fox Sports 2, on select systems (Cox, Time Warner, DirecTV, Xfinity, AT&T Uverse, Suddenlink, WOW, Midcontinent, Bright House, and Optimum among others) you can login and watch online on your computer. You can also download the Fox Sports Go app for your Android, Apple, Kindle Fire, or Windows Mobile device and stream the game. Separate services like Apple TV, Android TV, Xbox and Roku has the FSGo channel. For the Cord Cutters there are several options to get FS1 non-traditionally through these services: Sling TV, Playstation Vue, and DirecTV Now.
  18. Great matchup on national tv this week. Giants CB Janoris Jenkins is expected to shadow (the MAC's own) Antonio Brown in Week 13. The Giants have been using Jenkins to trail opposing No. 1 wideouts this season, and he's done well to limit Dez Bryant (1-8), Stefon Diggs (5-47), and A.J. Green (7-68-1) in previous matchups. Jenkins is Pro Football Focus' No. 7 cover corner out of 120 qualifiers. Brown remains an elite WR1.
  19. I posted draft analysts recognizing him last January. This should surprise nobody that watched him when he didn't get the ball. Good luck to him. The more Zips in the NFL, the less difficult it becomes to sell a prospect on the progrum. I'll be interested to see who, and where he trains. Another fun pro day in Akron. If you are undrafted, you get to select from a list of teams that are (hopefully) interested that gives you the best chance to make a roster. I would rather be undrafted then be drafted late by some clueless team with no direction or process/staff in place. Getting a shot with a team that has a history of success would be a dream scenario. I hope he gets drafted by "that" team, but if he doesn't, it doesn't mean he can't make a squad. We will get a better indication after his pro day numbers, and if he gets official pre draft visits (30 per team). Jatavis had several.
  20. This shouldn't come as a surprise.
