  1. Any coach at Flecks age that does what he did in the MAC is moving on, like it or not. That is the nature of the conference. Hope it happens in Akron.
  2. If one were a Miles fan, I am not, where are you getting money to buy out Bowden (guaranteed 100% of his contract) and pay Miles (or anyone)? TB ranked 9th in salary in the conference last year. If TB were not extended, and the U had to interview next year, I might let him get off his couch for an interview for a headline, but I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be in my top three. PS For perspective on my coaching selections, Barry Switzer won a SB, and I wouldn't even let him walk my dog, let alone coach my team.
  3. Gee, wonder why? Pass.
  4. Where did Mel have him ranked on his "big board" before the draft?
  5. I wonder if Western trademarked their coach sprinting down the sidelines in between quarters? If so, Gopher fans will really be missing out on the true experience. Try to guess PJ's new shtick at UM...
  6. As a general rule, I'm always disappointed to see any talent leave the conference. I'm searching my feelings, and not coming up with disappointment this time, wonder why?
  7. “Jimond is living off of Dog, they’re going to come off of Jimond because they don’t think he’s a very good shooter, which he’s better than he acts, and then they pay the price because Dog’s a really good passer.” --KD Simple, but a great point. The pass by BD and the dunk by Ivy was my favorite play against BG. I always hoped for Zeke (and teamates) to be more successful in similar situations. Lets hope BD and Ivey (and others) continue. Channel: 221CBS Sports Network HD tonight - Dave Ryan (PxP) and Steve Wolf (Analyst)
  8. I'm entertained by getting to know the players personalities. I would increase the knowledge the fan has about the players on the team. I think the more the fans (and students) know about the players, the more they care about the team, the more they get involved. The Cavs do a nice job on the big screen with some kind of question or small skit that gives you a look into the players personality. You can't just line up a player against the gym wall and ask them where they went to high school. It has to be done professional where the players personality is exhibited. I want to see them laugh, or show some kind of excitement or emotion about a topic/question/thought. I thought @4thFlCreative did a nice job with the intro video, use them again. Once you have the video, show it on the screen at halftime, use it in emails, and the rest of social media. Get fans to care about the players on the team.
  9. No defense, to the bench.
  10. An added benefit to being on ESPN3, is that local news can show video highlights. Channel 8 at lunchtime, played the Akron highlights. That was the good. The bad, John Telich reported that first-year eligibles LaDainian Tomlinson and Jason Kidd from The University of Akron are among 15 modern-era finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
  11. Very little to report. The "interview" was very quick. Looking into renovations. George Van Horne is in charge of it. Everybody (fans, coach, players) deserve upgrade. Contact George if you want to help. I'll giving you the email address, interviewer forgot ghvanhorne@uakron.edu.
  12. I thought the same. I'm loving the Zips scoring from the baseline on some nice passing. That has been open for two decades. Diggin Ivy's game. Big fan of TDM's motor, his alley-oop shows me he has the potential to entertain. I want more Poke, less Reghi. If Kwan put it in the work on the off-season that was described, it shows. He looks comfortable and effective out there. Show me more offense Zips, I'm loving it!
  13. Some add-on will have the stream. I have heard the Phoenix add-on has had good success.
  14. Go to Ebay and type in "fire stick kodi fully loaded" Happy New Year.
  15. IMO, Woodson became more of an experienced passer, and didn't have to rely on running. The lack of his called running plays was related to his injured shoulder. If healthy, I would be a little surprised if he were not the starter for the PSU game. It's great to have some real competition at the position though. Hopefully the overall depth at the position will improve dramatically.
  16. I'm not good at making an evaluation of a high school kid from their highlight video. Too many variables for me. But I did see some quick decision making in a lot of those highlights. That is the most positive thing that stood out to me. I also like his quick release and mechanics, he must have had a good coach early. It seems like he is more than capable in beating man coverage. His school uses a lot of the same formation and personnel that AJ does. He seems to have some ability to beat pressure with his feat. I like that the Zips are focusing on the QB position this offseason, depth is the reason I didn't get to see a Zips bowl game this year. I would like a film of his seven interceptions this year, and read his explanation of each. I wonder how many of those come off the receivers hands? I could probably learn more from that than I can from watching him throw 40 yard td bombs in man coverage. Welcome Alex, Go Zips!
