One thing that is amazing is that we were one bad ref call (blowing the play dead on the botched punt recovery) and one defensive player jumping off-sides (pick 6 called back) from fully throttling them on the scoreboard 35-10. I sat right behind the Akron bench and the entire bench, didn't matter if we were on offense or defense was pumped up the entire game. In contrast, the Pitt players would slowly just walk off the field with their heads down, and go sit down. If Zach Paul doesn't get player of the week honors from the MAC something is wrong, he was phenomenal. I missed the Marshall game due to other commitments, but did we play our second string QB at all then? I was surprised when we sent our second string out for two back to back possessions and don't remember that from the Penn State or Howard games.

Can't definitely looked good vs Temple. They tried to give the game away at the end but Temple just wouldn't take it. For OU, I think their best player this year will be Maurice Ndour. He didn't play well tonight and fouled out, but keep an eye on him.

From a basketball perspective I would prefer Eastern Kentucky out of the teams listed. They ended the year 70th in the RPI. SIU has a sub .500 basketball team and finished 192. Please not another awful team for basketball.

Last year we went to SEC country and played Tennesse close up until the 4th quarter. Today we went to Big 10 country and had a chance to win as time expired. Next year I fully expect to beat either ACC foe Pitt or Big 10 Penn St.

Why do we start the season playing St. Marys and Middle Tenn, arguably 2 of the toughest teams on the schedule, and follow it up with an exhibition game vs Malone? What is the purpose of having an exhibition after already playing two games?

I really like that we have 5 Non conference games on the ESPN family of networks (St. Marys, Oregon St, 2 more in HI, and South Carolina). That's 4 games in a row of straight Akron on ESPN. Top that off with at least 1 Can't and 1 OU game most likely being on ESPN, Akron did pretty well for ESPN games this year.
