  1. Not sure I agree. Ty Dalton isn't a significant loss and, while I liked TDM a lot, we'll be fine at PG if Noah/Antjno stay. If Hughes goes though, it makes an already-thin front line even thinner.
  2. Added Hughes back - he said he is undecided. I'll keep the original post updated.
  3. Updated what is left
  4. If you're keeping score at home, TDM and Ty Dalton are gone and both Dylan Swingle and Jack Ballentyne received offeds from Duquesne.
  5. I'm not sure why some didn't take this seriously, or thought it was a negotiating tactic. When he met with USF, I knew this time was different.
  6. This isn't a negotiating ploy, I do know that much.
  7. Incredible how some here ignore non-partisan reports to fit their own agenda. Anyhow, we'll find out today what he has decided and go from there.
  8. Incorrect based on what I heard. I don't think this is only about money for KD. It matters, but I think going to the A10, having a bigger budget to work with, arena renovation, etc are bigger factors.
  9. I bring it up more because the story always told is how his mom taught at UA, he went to UA, his kids went to UA, and that it's a big factor in why he has stayed. If he leaves I'm certain Robby being at Pitt isn't the reason, but little things can certainly add up.
  10. It's probably 50/50 he leaves. Interesting that Robby is at Pitt now.
  11. I'm talking some other prospects more than Graves. At least 2 of those schools are very different than Akron in the way they operate though.
  12. I'm not going to spend a ton of time analyzing this team yet because there's a chance Josh isn't the only transfer and other players could enter the picture. Here's who our top competitors are losing: Kent: Jimmy Hall, Deon Edwin, Jon Fleming Ohio: Antonio Campbell, Kenny Kaminski, Drew Crabtree Buffalo: Raheem Johnson, Blake Hamilton, Willie Conner, David Kadiri Central Michigan also loses Marcus Keene, who declared for the NBA Draft.
  13. Updated the original list to remove Josh. If Dalton is a scholarship player (VC lists him as one) and Eubanks gets one we're at 13.
  14. YSU hires Jerrod Calhoun. McFadden was a finalist.
  15. I've always heard Dru pushes kids to "name" programs to help his own recruiting. That's not us.
  16. No idea who would be the guy, but McFadden is the top assistant and has been recruiting coordinator for 9 years. Those close to the program will tell you KD has groomed him to be a HC. Larry Williams, of course, could see it differently. I use scrambling more because there are obviously some unhappy players, and you'd think others could leave if both the head coach and assistant coach/recruiting coordinator left. I will say some of the names - Jimmal Ball (no coaching experience), Dru Joyce (average game coach), Steve McNees (nowhere near ready) won't be happening. It'd have to be McFadden or someone brand new to Akron. Just my two cents.
  17. Interesting so many think the rocky STVM-UA relationship is UA/KD's fault...
  18. I don't think some are taking this seriously enough. And with McFadden being a strong possibility at YSU, we could be scrambling.
  19. I would hope Jayvon would know that his minutes would be fine if he played better. Noah, Antino, and Jimond played better than Josh - and this is coming from a person who was always high on Josh.
  20. This post is riddled with erroneous information, but I'm too damn tired to do it anymore. Just find another program to cheer for if it's that bad.
  21. It seems extremely rare for a team to clinch the regular season title early in the MAC. Even this year, Akron didn't do it until late. Also the tournament wouldn't be meaningless for anyone - it would just give a more significant advantage to top seeds.
  22. I understand your viewpoint, but my counterpoint is simply this: Each team plays 18 conference games. Team A could go 18-0 and Team B could go 0-18, and the only current advantage Team A has is playing one less game. I understand wand even agree that a #1 seed should take care of business, but it's also basketball - any team can have a bad night. The double bye doesn't eliminate that possibility, but it builds a much stronger advantage - a week to rest (and less rest for lower seeds) and only one win needed to reach the final. Make the regular season matter. Why is attendance so low or average at most MAC schools? Because aside from pride, the games don't really matter a ton. All that matters is one week at The Q, and everyone knows it. Heck, if I had my way, the regular season champ would get the auto bid and the conference tournament would be for the NIT auto bid. That's how strongly I feel about making the regular season count for more.
