Considering we had trouble drawing crowds when we were playing for a championship every year, I'm surprised there haven't been more crowds this bad.

Agreed, although I hope he does return. I think playing in the Kent game and/or at least one MAC Tournament game is a great experience for a young player like Jaden.

I'd think we could elaborate further than two games (both of which went to OT) when it comes to discussing the merits of each coach, but sure. Again, I'm not saying Groce isn't a good coach or that Dambrot is the greatest of all-time. But as skip-zip pointed out, Dambrot always did more with less. There were so many times I expected a huge dropoff, only to find myself at The Q on Saturday night cheering for the Zips in another title game. I'm confident Groce will have a much better year here next season, and strongly believe he'll get us a NCAA Tournament win before moving on. I base this on my opinion that he is an elite recruiter, which I do not think KD is. But if I'm giving both coaches the same roster of players to work with in this hypothetical situation, yeah, KD's going to squeeze more wins out of the group every single time.

Groce started the year with 9, Dambrot with 10 at Duquesne. Until mid-December, he was down to 8 due to injuries. Certainly we don't know, but I do think KD is a better coach and would have more wins with this group.

I think we'd at least be around .500 in the MAC, if we're being honest.

Antino wasn't happy most of last season. He didn't like sharing point duties with Noah. He also felt he should have been featured more on offense.

A few things: - Craig Eubanks is close with Jimond Ivey and several other players...I'm not sure of the full details, but his leaving the team surely impacts the others' relationship with Groce. - John Groce has never been a great coach. He is, however, a fantastic recruiter. I was hoping for better this year, and I think it would have been with Sayles and Olojakpoke healthy, but this season was always going to be rough. It will only get better when Groce attracts the top talent he has the ability to bring in. - The "KD screwed us" line of thought doesn't hold up. Mike Hughes and Tavian-Dunn Martin were the only one's that followed him. Josh, Noah, and Antino were always going to go and there's nothing KD could have done to change that.

Don't agree that this team was gutted. We'd be in such a different place if Olojakpoke/Sayles were active all season. Also don't agree it'll take years. I think we're contending for the MAC title as soon as next year if the transfers are as good as advertised: Olojakpoke/Sayles Utomi/Toles/Parrish Riak/Kostelac/Smith Ivey/Cotton/Patton Hester/Jackson

From what I gather, he's expected to still be around. He'll apply for an extension but it's unlikely given that he played half of the season.

He had open heart surgery. While it's tough to lose him, there was initial fear that this was something potentially even more serious than it was. I'll leave the rest of details for E/the team to share if they choose, out of respect to both.

After defeating Dayton today, Duquesne is 10-4. The team went 10-22 last season.

Antino's attitude would've been awful in a transition year.

I'm confident in saying Keith Dambrot is cheering on the Zips from PA, so I'm not sure how you'd be sticking it to him (or why that would be important to you to do so).
