  1. LeBron still follows him and they remain close. Duquesne became a LeBron/Nike basketball school almost immediately after KD accepted.
  2. They're rolling with 8 scholarship players due to transfers, but go ahead and get your shots in.
  3. For Woodson to get suspended with a trip to Detroit potentially on the line...I'm ok with moving on from him if Kato can hold his own.
  4. I'm not disagreeing with you there, but this cheating isn't victimless.
  5. Say that to the coaches who actually ran a clean program, didn't win enough because they didn't cheat for recruits, and lost their jobs.
  6. I'm surprised to hear some say cheating/paying players big sums is just a problem at "big" schools. I know of one MAC program that plays very dirty.
  7. https://sports.yahoo.com/fbi-probe-uncovers-massive-college-basketball-scandal-snaring-big-time-programs-144631716.html It's days like this I appreciate guys like Coach Dambrot and Coach Groce who run clean programs. Wonder if any MAC schools will get caught up in this...
  8. I think it's because the 49ers stink and not Kaepernick.
  9. I like the schedule, but I'm not sure it's that different than past years.
  10. How bout the conference schedule?
  11. Some of you sound like bitter exes ?
  12. I mean I guess if you're looking to take shots at KD you can, but I'm not sure any coach in America would load up his schedule this year given the factors presented.
  13. To be fair they are coming off a 10-22 season and, due to so many transfers, will be rolling with 9 scholarship players in year one. Couple those factors along with what will be a tough conference schedule and it makes a ton of sense to schedule a weak non-conference slate this year.
  14. Akron Felt and Chenille did a tremendous job!
  15. Anyone know of a local shop or someone online that could make a throwback Jason Taylor jersey? The uniforms were pretty basic at that time so it gave me some hope that it could be done.
  16. I was hoping for a little more for Jason Taylor (jersey, statue, some kind of giveaway) but maybe the shirt is related to him.
  17. Haven't been on ZN and just read some of the "recent" posts.
  18. Some of the replies on this thread have me shaking my head. Did KD accomplish the ultimate goal of an NCAA Tournament run? He did not. But that doesn't mean he didn't move this program forward in a major way. In 12 seasons under Coleman Crawford and Dan Hipsher, the Zips had 3 winning records. Dambrot's teams had a winning record in each of his 13 seasons. In the 12 seasons prior to KD, they were 1-7 in the MAC Tournament with 5 years where they didn't qualify. The furthest they made it was the Quarterfinals. Under Dambrot, the Zips made it to the Semi-Finals 12 out of 13 seasons and the final in 9 of 13 seasons. In 37 years of Division I play, the Zips have made it to 4 NCAA Tournaments. 3 of those happened under Dambrot. To say he didn't elevate this program to much higher levels than where it was when he took over is just stubborn. Listen, I'm bummed KD left. I loved the stability, I enjoyed a lot of the kids he brought into the program, and I loved putting Saturday at The Q in my calendar every year. I also know how many unnecessary roadblocks were put in his way by others at UA, and how frustrating that was. I also know how much his father means to him, and how much Duquesne means to his father. I wasn't happy with his choice, but I can respect it. I'm just not sure why we can't be appreciative of what KD did here in elevating the program to a consistent winner while at the same time being excited for John Groce potentially taking us to that next level that KD couldn't. I'll be hoping for the best for KD and his staff at Duquesne, so long as we're not playing each other or battling for a recruit.
  19. This is so true and not appreciated enough. Dambrot and his staff recruited well - you don't do what they did with "sub par recruiting" at a mid major school.
  20. Not true.
  21. Agreed. For the billionth time, it's ok to appreciate what KD accomplished here AND be excited for Groce.
  22. Updated with Malcolm Duvivier
  23. Aaron didn't really choose to leave. I'm going to confirm the limb zippy5 is out on is correct. Aaron was close with several returning players - we'll see if this impacts morale at all.
  24. Updated to remove Aaron Jackson.
  25. I can confirm Eubanks is a scholarship player. We are at 13 unless someone else leaves. I've been tracking the roster on the original post of this thread.
