  1. OU is 7-11 so they are ahead of the other three you listed. Unless I'm wrong it's either Miami or WM for us.
  2. Ball State just lost to NIU and potentially cost themselves the #4 seed. Wow. So: If Western Michigan beats Central Michigan, Western gets the #4 seed and #10 Akron will travel to #7 Miami. If Central Michigan beats Western Michigan, Akron is the #11 seed and will travel to #6 Western Michigan.
  3. If WMU beats CMU, Kent is the #6 seed. Akron and CMU would both be 6-12 and tied for #10, which we'd get. In this scenario we'd play WMU. If CMU beats WMU, Kent would be the #5 seed and we would be #11.
  4. If Groce could pull off landing a guy like TJ Moss or Caleb McConnell with the last scholarship, I'd consider running this: Utomi/Sayles Ivey/Parrish Riak/Olojakpoke/Kostelac Moss or McConnell/Toles/Patton Hester/Jackson/Cotton
  5. Congratulations to Mark Kostelac for setting the single season personal foul record. Incredible!
  6. I'll never get this type of response, but you do you.
  7. I'm not sure why you couldn't. In the MAC (and heck, sometimes in basketball in general), 4 and 5 seem pretty interchangeable to me. I could see Riak starting with Olojakpoke coming off the bench (especially given his health issues...they may limit minutes, but that's pure speculation). I've admittedly seen nothing more than highlights for Hester, Riak, Jackson, and Toles, so we're just guessing. I agree on the potential of someone leaving...I don't think it's a mistake that we have 3 offers out right now.
  8. I agree with this. The team is in last place and realistically the season is over on Monday, but you wouldn't know it from watching the players. I think this speaks well to the future, that they haven't packed it in. I'm hopeful they can get the W tomorrow - the players really deserve it.
  9. I think it's been impossible to judge. Normally I'd say the results speak to performance, but as soon as we lost both Olojakpoke and Sayles that became a bit unfair, in my opinion. I think we'll be able to judge much better starting next year when some of his players start coming in.
  10. He seems headed toward Wichita State
  11. I think this is fair. I've said many times, I think KD is the superior coach and Groce is the superior recruiter.
  12. Two will open up but LePear Toles will take one.
  13. Looka like we have 3 open offers: TJ Moss - 6'4", 180 lbs, 3 star SG Neftali Alvarez - 6'1", 175 lbs, 3 star PG. Caleb McConnell - 6'5", 175 lbs, 3 star SG Only 1 open scholarship on record, but maybe we have some that leave?
  14. Doesn't sound like Sayles will play again this year.
  15. Interview with TJs father that mentions Akron https://twitter.com/Andrew__Slater/status/952706239045296133
  16. I look forward to this being a rivalry again.
  17. Always interesting when someone posts something like this, knowing they clicked on a thread titled, "Duquesne Basketball Coach Keith Dambrot" and took the time to post about just how little they care. Some people do care and are interesting to follow KD's progression at Duquesne, for various reasons. If you don't, that's cool. Just don't click on the thread next time.
  18. For those interested, I took a look at Duquesne's outlook for 2018-2019. I have admittedly not seen some of these players play before, so I'm guessing on a lot of this, but I don't see much PT for Dunn-Martin. Williams Jr. and Lewis are the Dukes' leading scorers this year as a freshman and a sophomore respectively, so I'd expect they'll continue to play. Frankie Hughes and Craig Randall are both transferring in, and I'd expect both to be ahead of TDM. It will also be interesting to see who the scholarships go to...by my count they have 16 players for next year. My guess is that's my error, but maybe they really do have a roster crunch. I'd expect them to be pretty good starting next year.
  19. I'm just going to kind of pretend there's no tournament this year
  20. Duquesne has a helluva class coming in, by the way: Gavin Bizeau - 6'10", 180 lbs - 4* Dylan Swingle - 6'11", 300 lbs - 3* Austin Rotroff - 6'9", 225 lbs - 3* Amari Kelly - 6'9", 225 lbs - 2* Brandon Wade - 6'2", 180 lbs - 2*
  21. This just isn't a good team. Due to circumstances we've discussed at length already, it's understandable - losing Olojakpoke and Sayles turned what would have been an average team into a pretty bad one. We'll be on the road in the First Round, and given our road woes it won't be a surprise if we all save money on The Q this year. The biggest question marks moving forward are if Jimond Ivey and Daniel Utomi are bought into Groce and want to remain committed, how our youngsters work and develop over the summer, who we can land with the open scholarship, and if, with the transfers coming in to a team that SHOULD only lose player, it's enough to get us back to contention in the MAC.
  22. One more regular season game for the Dukes, so they'll enter the conference tournament at either 16-14 or 15-15. Definitely progress for the program and a lot to look forward to for them starting next year.
  23. Probably earliest possible return for him is Kent
  24. He has to regain eligibility - I'll leave it at that.
