  1. West Florida is D2 though that division maxes out at 36. Can't speak for West Florida, but most PSAC teams, which is a very good D2 conference, only offer in the 20s.
  2. or likely any honestly. Not only do FBS schools have generally much higher quality of player, they have about 4x as many on scholarship.
  3. It'll be interesting to follow as we near the end of conference play, but I wonder if Toledo is starting to wear down with their 7 man rotation. I said it before and I'll say it again - I'd feel very confident against them in the MAC-C. Let's just hope we get there and don't need to play them until the finals.
  4. What would give us the tiebreaker with the same amount of conference losses and splitting the series?
  5. Well Toledo is about to screw my betting, but I suppose I can sacrifice my $30 if the Zips benefit. They are ice cold right now.
  6. Good news: https://www.beaconjournal.com/story/news/2021/02/10/university-akron-raising-wages-back-pre-pandemic-levels-amid-anticipated-surplus-higher-education/6704856002/?utm_source=morning-roundup&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=20210211&utm_content=article13-readmore
  7. The MAC is down a little no doubt, but I also think just about all of college basketball is as well. Not that I'm advocating for an at-large, just an observation.
  8. Leaf Home Solutions grew 80% organically in 2020 and total revenue for that group of companies is now over 1.1 billion. Kaulig is kicking some serious a$$ https://apnews.com/press-release/pr-newswire/business-corporate-news-lee-brown-north-america-products-and-services-d8961f7dfbfa07ea9d820279aa1b8e57
  9. Scholarship may have been the original intent, but I'd say its either 1) we found a better player to use it on or 2) there was some issue with Cook (former OT coach) leaving for the NFL. I think its more likely the former. Suppose we'll have to wait and see.
  10. Would sure be nice to know what happened there.
  11. Obviously got a little too close for comfort towards the end, but we really out-willed Kent tonight. Love to see it. Still feel confident in our MAC-C chances. My prediction about Freeman when we got to conference play was clearly wrong..he is a factor in every game. Go Zips!
  12. Pippen is such a thug.
  13. Excluding his first couple games, he's gotta be one of the best 3 pt shooters in the MAC.
  14. Love it!
  15. 30 yr old Pippen is such a cry baby.
  16. The schedule also doesn't even show this game as being on TV.
  17. Dakich is a bit much for me. Good energy by Freeman so far. Dailey being passive. Kent still sucking.
  18. Yet another coach leaving for a promotion. Cook was the OT coach, so that could have something to do with Gavin Malott's untimely tweet about his recruitment being reopened.
  19. Lincoln Riley has 16 highschoolers and 5 transfers in this year's class. https://247sports.com/college/oklahoma/Season/2021-Football/Commits/
  20. Players get out of LOI's all the time for various reasons.
  21. A lot of chatter here about using the transfer portal more to finish out the class and maybe it should have been utilized more in past years, and I don't necessarily disagree. Jake Spatival, who I would have liked to replace Bowden actually, has taken the total opposite approach. He brought in 20 transfers in his 2020 recruiting class and has yet (even after late signing day) to sign a high school kid in the 2021 class. https://old.reddit.com/r/CFB/comments/lc3bhu/at_the_end_of_national_signing_day_the_texas/ That 2020 class full of players who could "contribute right away" got him to a record of 2-10. Put me on record as wanting us to finish out of class with mostly transfers expected to play right away, but Texas State's results thus far are a data point against going all in on the portal.
  22. I sincerely hope some of those players are not on scholly. For some reason I thought we announced walk-ons last year as well on late signing day. If only we had a beat writer to provide some clarity.
  23. This is a nice get and presumed scholarship player. Looks like he was committed to Liberty in October. Had at least 8 G5 offers at one point.
  24. At most, I would guess 3, maybe 4 of the announced players so far today are actual scholarship players, but I could be completely wrong. There should still be room to add players that can help us right away, whether they sign today or not isn't that important IMO. Dontae Pollard from Penn Hills is interesting. Looking at his twitter, it seems like we got him as a PWO over WVU and Pitt's PWO offers. Maybe he thinks he has a better chance of earning a scholarship here eventually.
