  1. Obviously this is a very passionate discussion for most on here. Unsure how much of a difference, if any, it might make right now, but if anyone wants their voice heard I might recommend considering making a restricted donation to the sport(s) of your preference. https://gozips.com/sports/2017/5/25/zfund-Ways-to-Give-Sport-Specific.aspx
  2. Looking at those figures, we've ramped up football spending, but are only slightly above conference median. Those figures also don't show any student fees going to athletics, which we know isn't correct.
  3. Or the details are already known, just not made public. I hope President Miller knows better than to make a blanket statement like that and realizes the negative effect it can have on programs by not being transparent, leading us into further spiral.
  4. Good point. The stadium is used by at least: Lacrosse, intramural sports, one off events (high school playoff games, band competitions, etc), and everyone who uses the tower on a daily basis. I don't know if it is or not, but the cost should not be entirely allocated to the football program. Same goes for the field house as well.
  5. None! I'd rather the money go to basketball than football nobody cares about. If I wanted to be associated with somewhere like Ashland, thats where I would've went. However, once again, I find it hard to believe football is in real danger. We've already invested the facilities and we can't make those costs go away and we get the most exposure from football and men's basketball. I really do believe those two, along with men's soccer due to the success of the program, would be the last to go (obviously without considering all the TItle IX hoops). I'm also not in favor of FCS..though all G5 creating their own thing in shall I say, spring, would be intriguing, and a way to gobble up more money than before. There is no competition with the XFL gone.
  6. Saw something out there that the NCAA is looking at a one time transfer waiver for the 20-21 season. Maybe explains why we haven't heard much regarding the last two open scholarships. Could be some really good pieces that become available...
  7. I'd still be shocked if it happens, but the U can consider myself done with them if football goes away. I'd be embarrassed to be affiliated with a school who couldn't manage to field America's sport when so many other across the nation can. Some may have to (and probably should considering our financial situation) unfortunately go, but football, men's soccer, and men's basketball should be the last.
  8. I see we have a bunch of cheaters up in Canada. https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/29078661/buffalo-hit-probation-forged-documents
  9. I was told by faculty at the STEM school (where at least the good Livingston attended) that he wasn't going to make grades to play, which is the reason he/they transferred. Didn't seem to have anything to do with the coach, but I'm not sure simply transferring to a private school could skirt grade eligibility requirements, so there may be more to the story...
  10. Looks like the OSU game is scheduled for 11/19. They also lost a couple of players to transfer, and not players they wanted to lose. One went to Marquette and one went to Arizona State. Can't wait!
  11. Funny how the AAC pretends to be a "P6" school until crap hits the fan. Cinci cut soccer. My hunch is that was done to help prevent the momentum the football program has right now isn't stunted. I wonder what we are considering..as the quote in the article says...never waste a good crisis.
  12. ?? How in the hell is BG a lock school?
  13. Council committed to Auburn. Best of luck to him.
  14. I can live with it - as a sophomore.
  15. He had a nice list of mid-major offers. Also beat out Kent State - and beating them never gets old. http://verbalcommits.com/players/jermaine-marshall-al
  16. Any insight you can provide on his medical condition?
  17. got a link?
  18. Let's all be thankful we aren't WMU fans. I would be livid.
  19. I need some recruiting news regarding our 3 open scholarships stat. Like without sports is rough.
  20. And Graves has declared for the draft, though he's entering with the option that allows him to return to school.
  21. I can't answer any questions, but my suspicion is that the staff making a conscious effort to get high-character student athletes on the team is going to keep us in a better position than some other programs.
