  1. Thanks Doc. As pointed out above, TB's answers were kind of meh where we didn't really learn anything. That sort of leads me to believe Woody will be good to go week 1 without any setbacks, but who knows. I like that Reinke seems like a lock to start at right DE. I like what I saw out of him in limited time last year. Wasn't he originally a walk on? I never realized how much Keener loves tight ends
  2. Center? While not official, I think Jared Lorenzen would be a good candidate. http://ftw.usatoday.com/2017/08/jared-lorenzen-hefty-lefty-new-york-giants-500-pounds-project-lose-weight-videos
  3. ISU preview provided by Deadspin. Interesting note - it appears their QB from last year is now...a middle linebacker? http://deadspin.com/nobodys-better-at-maintaining-mediocrity-than-iowa-stat-1797683090?utm_campaign=socialflow_deadspin_twitter&utm_source=deadspin_twitter&utm_medium=socialflow
  4. This isn't new news, FWIW. I figured there was some relation, but I didn't know his brother was Todd. I wonder why they ended up at different schools? Exactly what recruiting service is he rated by, @UAZippers? I can't find anything on him. I do like his tape though.
  5. I know part of it is because he's injured, but who would have thought Marcus would have been the first one waived out of the players we have at training camp this year?
  6. This is just an odd take. You don't think Akron's shitty graduation rates had/have anything to do with them having zero or very low admission requirements? The graduation rates have a lot more to do with who they let in than how tough the programs are. Harvard has a 98% graduation rate. Their programs must be a joke! I'm sure there would be a pretty clear correlation when comparing the more "prestigious" schools with the schools with the higher graduation rates. Half of my dorm floor failed out their freshman year because they partied every night, got into drugs, and never went to class. None of that has anything to do with how tough any programs are. It has everything to do with how responsible someone is, which is why I am posting it as my advice. Can't believe an innocent comment has evolved into this discussion.
  7. I hope that was a joke?
  8. Akron should strive to have better than a lower than average graduation rate.
  9. Have to admit I chuckled when I read this.
  10. Wasn't he the starter his first season eligible before he lost it due to being ineffective? Didn't he start about half of the games last season? Him not contributing a lot is due to him being a not very good QB. Pitt, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Arizona, among others thought he was good enough to play QB. If he was WR, would he have even played over Natson, Wolf, or Lane last season? I hope he does great this year. I'm not going to predict that he has been misused off of a video of him running a route though nor am I going to hold it against the coaching staff as he was given his chance at QB and got plenty of run there last season even as a backup. Based on what we've seen on the field, he isn't quite as talented as what many thought.
  11. Seems like quite an assumption based on the very limited info we have.
  12. Go to class, at least some of the time. Half of my dorm floor failed out before the first year was over.
  13. I used to be one of the larger Hustlebelt advocates I feel, but I feel the quality has dropped significantly as of late. There are new people running it I believe and some of the old guys broke off and created something new. I think the twitter account is called MAC Prospectus. Not sure what their end goal is but they tweet recruiting updates regularly. I did see that Hustlebelt is looking for writers @Balsy
  14. I can't remember the thread this was in, but Kent State could be in some deeeeep doodoo https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/kent-state-cannot-produce-certification-for-strength-coach-in-charge-during-death/
  15. Few things here. Andre Williams had 2 great catches at approx. the 53 second and 1:37 marks. TW is suited up and playing. Bickley had a few TDs. It would be nice if he gave us something this year. He showed some promise his true freshman year but not much after that which is why I'm assuming he transferred the first time.
  16. 2 I believe. Taylor and Lambert. Coming down the pipeline.....Probably Gates, Harrison, Ben and maybe Antonio Brown and Mack if they keep it up? Am I missing anyone?
  17. Does anybody even read print anymore? Seems like electronic delivery would be the way to go and obviously much cheaper.
  18. ^^ That is cool. Nice thinking by the U.
  19. He was so "good" that he ended up at a worse program than UA.
  20. True, but to Joe Akron, they do have a "name" as App State will forever be known for knocking off Michigan. Better them than Coppin State or Ark-PB. Even if it results in 20 more fans lol.
  21. Zero camp coverage so far. Unacceptable.
  22. Nice article here by EA. http://www.cleveland.com/sports/college/index.ssf/2017/07/nfl_hall_of_famer_jason_taylor.html
  23. What if that 13-0 season included wins over a #5 Penn State for example and maybe even a New Year's Day bowl win?
  24. Of course, he is listed on the roster as a Redshirt Jr. somehow. How that can be when he is a member of the class of 2016 is beyond me. Sucks he will have to sit out a year as I'm sure we could use him.
