  1. Saw something today that the MAC has the 2nd highest G5 revenue. Only the AAC is higher, but nearly twice as high at around 1.5mil/team.
  2. Don't think it would have hurt Coach Bowden to go the way of PJ Fleck with OSU having a bye week. I suppose I'll take some flack, but one "gripe" I have is that I don't feel the program is marketed enough by him. Coach hasn't tweeted since March. http://www.mlive.com/broncos/index.ssf/2016/09/broncos_coach_invites_wolverin.html
  3. Well thats just great. And it happened clear back in May?!? Time to see what Junius can do I suppose.
  4. Might want to check your facts on that one. The Ravens have also been one of the best franchises in football since the move and have won multiple Super Bowls. I doubt they're too disappointed in it.
  5. Growing up in the Appalachian foothills of Southern Ohio, I've always pronounced it App-a-LAY-shun.
  6. MAC Conference. *drinks*
  7. I don't think its as clear cut as you guys are making. Kent sucks bad and Alabama couldnt be farther on the opposite end of the spectrum, but I wouldn't be surprised if Saban took it somewhat easy on his alma mater and kept it in the 40s.
  8. I watched the first half of the App State/Miami game last night. A few things I noticed... App State struggled with substitutions in the no huddle offense. We traditionally run a no huddle, though not really at a fast pace it seems. If we speed things up, we can catch them off guard. They like to keep LBs in the box. Not sure if this was a game plan explicit for Miami, but they had a lot of success on quick/bubble screens. I'm thinking Jojo Natson will have yet another big game. Their passing offense just didn't impress me much. QB is a decent runner though, capable of running the option. I think them losing their RB is a big loss. The back up isn't bad, but the starter looked just that good. The run a lot of different formations (as was pointed out earlier in the thread), but not a lot of different plays. Not sure how much that will be changed up now that it seems their stud is out.
  9. Not that its a huge difference, but its 500 something followers actually. Even if it only brings a hundred then I think its a success. Its a chance to get serious football fans interested in a program that plays decent football and is close to home. Also I am not sure if is something else that shows Bernie is "taking an interest"in the program, but I wouldn't call attending 1 game in which I am presuming he was invited by Larry Williams that. But if there is something I missed, then great!
  10. At first I was disagreeing with your post because college football is already like the wild west enough as it is IMO, but you did say something that I agree with at the end. If the P5 schools get all the money and the only real shot at playing for the national championship, then the G5 schools should be allowed to take on transfers without sitting out a year, similar to transferring from FBS - FCS. It will help level the playing field.
  11. Agree. Should get a better feel this week with the BYU/Toledo game.
  12. I assumed it was more of an exaggeration than anything, but GoZips lists attendance at 24k.
  13. Marcus Cox is their stud I believe. Has rushed for over 1000 yards every year in his career.
  14. pathetic, yet not surprised.
  15. I believe there was one camera angle from above that showed the ball coming loose. It was pretty close though, I think think it was confirmed, meaning the refs saw definitive evidence. Not really sure where Keener is coming from on his rant. I hope he just drank a little too much celebrating the victory.
  16. Good luck the rest of the season. Circle the wagons and beat Louisville next week. They are setup for a letdown game and it's great that you have them at home. I imagine they'll be ranked top 5.
  17. The unfortunate downfall of following a barely covered G5 program. I'm still waiting to hear ANYTHING about Jordan George, who I think I and many others thought last season had a bright future and a chance to start this year. He isn't listed on the two deep or the injury report. We also have no clue what Ball's injury is AFAIK. I doubt we'll hear much.
  18. Have to say..it feels nice to make another board go crazy rather than it being our own for once. I have to respect Marshall fans, though. They seem classy.
  19. What a great win....right up there with the bowl win and win at Pitt as far as I'm concerned. Everything that I have an issue with is completely under our control (composure/penalties), not because of a lack of talent. Was nice to see some members of the 2016 recruiting class contributing. Featherstone was everywhere and Davis played a solid game as well. Jest even got a nice sack in garbage, although Marshall still had their starters in. Hopefully Marshall goes on to have a great season. I like playing a good out of conference G5 team that is within a reasonable drive. On to the next one. Time to keep building on the momentum before heading into conference play. App St. got drubbed by Miami a little worse than I expected today. Should be a good one next week.
  20. Serious question. Does Austin Wolf ever NOT catch the ball when its thrown his way?!?
  21. You got yours as well I believe. We put up 40..with a half game left to play.
  22. I liked the Chapman wrinkle. I'd really like him to consider moving to RB next season. Great vision. I had to resort to watching a shitty stream, so I'm assuming Woodson is fine. Hope Brown is fine as well.....that looked bad.
  23. Woooo!! Stupid penalty again though. Ashamed at myself for writing these guys off. And Leary missing XP's is absolutely unacceptable.
  24. Agreed. No clue what the hell that slo-mo read option is. Never going to work that slow. Now we know why Gladney doesn't see the field much. Have to catch that. Feel like it gets said a lot, but Natson is the real deal. I have to think his play is going merit some serious MAC post season accolades. We thought he was the perfect compliment to Lane, and that's proving to be true.
  25. I was thinking the same thing lol. Marshall is giving us a run for the money all of the sudden.
