  1. He said he didn’t like playing Tennessee, MSU, and Liberty last year. Can’t imagine he’s voluntarily swapping Kentucky for OSU on top of Rutgers and South Carolina on the schedule already.
  2. Somehow missing this game for my night driving around looking for a range to save Thanksgiving and arranging delivery tomorrow doesn’t seem so bad now.
  3. I’d rather it go to staff and recruiting budget.
  4. I guess this means we are replacing our home game with Kentucky for an ass kicking by OSU. Thats 3 P5's next year (Rutgers and SC as well) and one home OOC game AGAIN...yay. Selling our soul (and chances to turn our program around by getting wins) for money.
  5. I don't particularly know what all goes into being recognized at Senior day, meaning are they being recognized because its their last game (due to eligibility or choice), or are they being recognized because of graduation, but the Zips game notes shows the following: "Prior to the game, Akron will recognize 14 seniors in 0 QB D.J. Irons, Jr., 1 WR Daniel George, 1 DB K.J. Martin, 5 TE T.J. Banks, 8 DT Terray Jones, 9 DB Judson Tallandier, II, 13 QB Jeff Undercuffler, Jr., 16 DB Nate Thompson, 21 RB Drake Anderson, 21 DB Cameron Threatt, 27 RB Lorenzo Lingard, Jr., 60 OL Ben Frank, 92 DL Tyler Carter and 99 DL Devon Robinson." Cam Threatt, KJ Martin, and Tyler Carter are 3 that caught me by surprise. Martin because its been mentioned he has 1 more year if he wants it, and Carter and Threatt are each listed as R-Sophomores on the roster. Missing from R-Sr category are walk-on Sean Conroy as well as Brycen Yarmo. Aside from the guys we know whose eligibility is up, there doesn't seem to be any consistency with how they are being recognized, so the only conclusion I can draw is the 3 above mentioned guys are deciding to move on from football. Suppose we'll see.
  6. I'm as big of an Ali fan on here as anyone. However, minus last game, I found myself questioning where exactly he fits in with the way N Johnson and Dawson were playing to begin the season. I think N Johnson has took a big step forward. Dawson sort of is what he is at this point in his career, but that isn't a knock. Very good D and hustle player with the ability to knock down the 3 at a high rate. I was initially thinking Lyles would lose minutes with a rotation of Ali playing the 4 and Hunter playing the 5 when Freeman is getting a breather, but Lyles hasn't been getting any minutes as is. There are a lot of capable bodies and only so many minutes to go around. Ali is ideally going to take on 30 minutes a game. I see it cut into Johnson and Dawson's PT directly the most, and maybe Scott's indirectly the most. I'd think the players are aware of this already, and hope it doesn't affect the team dynamic in a negative way.
  7. @Blue & Gold Prather was injured for Heidelberg game. Twisted his ankle in practice. Groce mentioned it on the radio.
  8. Hunter not in, but Greg on that last possession doesn't make sense to me when you need a 3. Thornton also shot early. Acceptable games from Freeman, Tribble, and Hunter from the eye test. Need more from everyone else. Loss stinks, but don't think we could've collectively played much worse. Silver lining is we get to play a really good Drake team.
  9. Feed looks back! try refreshing
  10. Need more out of Dawson and N Johnson if we want to pull this out.
  11. Would be great if Thornton could make a lay up.
  12. Looking at the roster, I can easily count in the teens the number of guys who wouldn't hurt us at all by leaving under the criteria of having been here multiple years and haven't sniffed the field, or transferred in with multiple years of experience and didn't sniff the field. There aren't many players who could leave that aren't easily replaceable IMO. Handful of guys we want to keep like Fish, McCoy, Nunnally, Adams, Lewis, and a few others. Probably looking at 30-ish new faces is my guess. I'm currently showing about 17 open scholarships due to graduation, and 13 current HS commits and 1 current transfer commit. Don't see us adding more than a few more high school commits, so that means looking at 15+ transfer portal players. Plenty of opportunity again to improve the roster. Keep most of the guys who've shown they can play at or near all-MAC level, find a QB, and find a couple Nunnally and FIsh type transfer portal players and we'll be cooking next year IMO.
  13. Sloppy win, but a win nonetheless. Clutch finish.
  14. really liking what Thornton is bringing at the PG position.
  15. NMSU beats Auburn by 21. It’s just means more!
  16. Agreed. We need to root for them. They get Auburn today.
  17. St Bonnie holds off Oklahoma State after a 3 rims out to win it. Following up their loss to Canisius.
  18. I've heard of a phone getting hacked, but never heard of a phone number getting hacked.
