  1. Much better. We want a home match.
  2. For the dozen Zips fans heading to Morgantown: Make good wardrobe decisions. I believe that we will win! See you in WVA.
  3. USSF and MLS should be coordinated enough to schedule international friendlies in between MLS matches. I would hope they could accomplish that. Every other country does it. No big deal.
  4. I believe that Nagbe and Trapp will play their respective MLS Playoff matches on November 11th. They will then immediately board a plane for Europe, where they will both sit the USMNT bench for the upcoming friendlies. Point is that there is no way either will miss an MLS playoff match. This point is difficult to research. Post if you find anything.
  5. Ezana Kahsay put in a blue collared shift tonight. He repeatedly and strongly received the ball with his back to goal. In five years, tonight may have been his best. No taking plays off. No stupid fouling. No bitching at team mates. Nice all around match EZ! Well done. Take us to the NCAA Tourney.
  6. I happen to think that this squad would do quite well in MLS. The separation between the two leagues is not as great as many think.
  7. 24 hours is too late for the communication you are suggesting. That message is not already here because it is never coming. I reject your defenses of this shabby athletic department. Our Soccer team is NOT because of them; it is IN SPITE of them. I will happily apologize when I am proven wrong. Just to be clear: Lack of lighting at First Energy Field is a colossal embarrassment. BUT setting the playoff match at 16:00 in deference to BB opener is far worse. Larry Williams! Yeah. YOU. If you do not care about your athletic programs, do not expect me to care about them. So, don't ask me for money. Next time I donate is once you are gone.
  8. Combined with the Gridiron disaster in Nebraska, Larry Williams and company no longer deserve their positions of employment. From an event planning perspective, the MAC Soccer playoff should already have been arranged, just in case. If hosting two athletic teams playing simultaneously is such a logistical problem (I challenge whether it actually is) then do not schedule the BB opener on a potential Soccer playoff date. Or schedule Soccer playoff on Monday. Do something else. Figure out a way to avoid making your fanbase(s) suffer. Instead, UA AD failed to learn from past heartburn, and repeated same mistake from years ago. My greater fear is that Larry Williams DID anticipate this scheduling conflict, and that this is his remedy. He. Just. Does. Not. Care. If that is the case, then I really do look forward to him moving on. Now. Tonight. UA can do better.
  9. Yeah. And maybe they just plain suck.
  10. University of Akron Athletic Department should be ashamed. They owe a public explanation.
  11. It was only a matter of time before the hall monitor caught on.
  12. WMU will be a stern test come Saturday, and the sloppier the conditions, the more it favors Broncos' direct style. Broncos are not as good as they were last year, but neither are Zips. Thank goodness GK Drew Shepherd has finally moved on. Did he play like 6 years or something? Don't miss that cat at all! (I now see that Shepherd is Volunteer Assistant Coach. What does it take to get rid of this guy?) https://wmubroncos.com/news/2018/10/30/mens-soccer-heads-to-akron-for-regular-season-finale.aspx?path=msoc I am not really a soccer coach, I just play one on ZipsNation.org. But Zips should take MF Tommy Clark out of the match. Just sit on him. Mark him tightly, severely limit his touches, tackle him hard a few times, and Broncos will not have Offense. I would assign Skye Harter to that task. "WMU ranks first in the MAC with a 1.01 goals against average and 115 corner kicks - averaging 6.76 per game." Combine those stats with sloppy conditions, and this is unlikely to be a high scoring affair. Final score will probably be 1-0. Broncos will take their numerous CK chances very seriously. They devote the last thirty minutes of every practice to CK execution. Zips had better come to fight.
  13. Just reinforcing what you said. You started it. That highlight reel got me on the SJ bandwagon. Zips need to get that kid!
  14. KK? I have a cousin on KK's staff, AC or something like that. And my cousin has a son playing on that team. Looking forward to that match. But if you just want to scout talent, go watch young Sandor Jakab play. He looks like a Zip to me. NEO is a micro hotbed of futbol.

  17. Sandor Jakab Sr. played for Zips in 1980s. Last I knew, Sr. Was coaching for Everest SC. Jr. looks like the new and improved model. Perhaps for the Blue and Vegas? https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&cd=1&ved=2ahUKEwjyxKa-kLLeAhWstlkKHe6PCX0QFjAAegQIARAB&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ncsasports.org%2Fmens-soccer-recruiting%2Fohio%2Frichfield%2Frevere-high-school3%2Fsandor-jakab&usg=AOvVaw3XyAvu2PDdjeJQKEjE0xj-
