The good news is that Chad Welker will be the announcer. Chad is very knowledgeable about the players and is very passionate about the Zips. Chad always does a good job. -

I went to the Big East site. I could only find a tiebreaker that related to basketball. If you go to the Link below..... and use your scenario.....I think that the zips would be in good shape... Assumes that Georgetown finishes first Seton Hall would have 15 ...if they beat Creighton next week (their last game is UConn) if Seton Hall finishes 2nd in the league, Akron would win that tiebreaker ....as Akron tied Seton Hall and UConn lost to them if UConn wins out against Butler and Seton Hall, they would finish 2nd with 16 points Seton Hall would end with 15 UConn has wins over Creighton and Akron so tiebreaker would then move to how the teams did against Seton Hall Providence could reach 16 points...with wins against DePaul and Georgetown neither Akron or Creighton played Providence....so again, it would come down to how the teams did against Seton Hall... unrelated to the tiebreakers, Marquette destroyed DePaul 4-1 tonight. https://cdn2.sbnation.com/assets/4092617/tiebreaker-procedure_1_.pdf Each team’s record vs. the team or tied teams occupying the highest position in the standings. • If an advantage is not determined, proceed to the next team or group of tied teams in the standings for comparison. Continue down through the standings until one team gains an advantage

Current standings 1. Georgetown 16 2. Creighton 13 3. Seton Hall 12 4. zips, huskies and friars 10 Tie for 7 Butler and St John’s 7 Seton Hall really control their destiny as their last 2 are against Creighton and UConn zips obviously control their own destiny with games against Marquette and Creighton UConn plays Butler next weekend. providence last 2 games - DePaul and Georgetown Remaining Saturday games Rhode Island and VCU - 0-0 result Cleveland State gets a 3-1 home win over Purdue Fort Wayne Marquette was leading DePaul 2-0 at 54 minutes

More games from Saturday this result should help the Zips in RPI number 7 Vermont went on the road and got a huge 2-1 win over number 2 Bryant Bryant was also number 2 in RPI coming into today Earlier in the week, Bryant and Princeton (number 1 in RPI) battled to a 0-0 tie. Vermont record is now 10-0-5 Bryant suffered their first loss and they are now 13-1-2. Number 16 St. Louis at Loyola Chicago finished in a 1-1 tie. Oakland earned a 2-0 win at Northern Kentucky. Cornell - 2-1 home win over Brown. Number 15 Georgetown improved to 5-0-1 in the league with a 3-0 beat down of Villanova. Georgetown is probably a lock for the conference tournament with 16 points. Villanova now has 6 points with a 1-2-3 record. Seton Hall got a much needed 1-0 road win at St. John’s. Seton Hall now has 12 points in the league with a 3-0-3 record. St. John’s has 7 points with a 2-3-1 record. Seton Hall plays Creighton next weekend. It would greatly help the zips if Seton Hall can get a win in that match up. UConn and Providence match started tonight at 7. Both teams came into tonight with 9 points after 5 games. Zips currently have 10 points after 6 games.

Very thoughtful of Coach Embick to do post game interviews after road games. It is much appreciated.
-
wonderful picture. Tremendous credit to the zips fans..that traveled down I-71 and I-70 to support the Zips
-
Beautiful entry pass by Stefan Dobrijevic to set up that goal.
-
horrible PK call against the Zips. Xavier player was clearly outside the box and it was a very questionable foul call.

Richie Laryea had major hamstring surgery in 2024. Richie rebounded in 2025 and had a fantastic year. Congratulations to Richie on being one of the 3 finalists for MLS comeback player of the year. https://www.torontofc.ca/news/richie-laryea-named-mls-comeback-player-of-the-year-finalist

this article is from August 2025......but I do not think it has been posted before. thanks to @Zip_ME87 for posting the assist record info (caused me to look for other articles) Aodhan is one of only 3 players to have 50 or more goals and 50 or more assists. As of Mid August, Aodhan was the career leader in minutes played in the USL. as @fknbuflobo has said many times, many MLS teams would have been well served to have Aodhan play in the midfield for them Fantastic career. https://www.uslchampionship.com/news_article/show/1344212

Friday October 17th Creighton 1 Villanova 1 Butler 1 Xavier 1 UConn 1 St. John's 0 Providence 1 Marquette 0 Saturday afternoon October 18th Georgetown put a 3-0 beatdown on a very bad DePaul team #8 Maryland went to Columbus and stomped a mudhole in the Buckeyes...4-0 Terps Ohio State record drops to 5-8-0 Current Big East standings (and yes, I am extremely thankful that the Zips do not play in the East division) Big East - Eastern Division 1. Georgetown 4-0-1 13 points 3 way tie for 2nd 2T. UConn 3-2-0 9 points 2T. Seton Hall 2-0-3 9 points 2T. Providence 3-2-0 9 points 5. St. John's 2-2-1 7 points 6. Villanova 1-1-3 6 points Big East- Midwest Division 1. Creighton 3-1-1 10 points 2T. Butler 2-2-1 7 points 2T. Akron 2-2-1 7 points 4. Xavier 1-2-2 5 points 5. DePaul 0-4-1 1 point 6. Marquette 0-5-0 0 pts Next week schedule Saturday October 25 Creighton (10) at Butler (7) 1 pm Akron (7) at Xavier (5) 2 pm Seton Hall (9) at St. John's (7) 4:30 UConn (9) at Providence (9) 7 pm Villanova (6) at Georgetown (13) 7 pm DePaul (1) at Marquette (0) 8 pm The Zips need desperately to get revenge against Xavier. As Big East opponents, the Zips have fared very poorly on the road at Xavier. 2023 - a very frustrating 0-0 tie in regular season. And then, a very painful season ending loss in the Big East Conference quarterfinals...1-0 loss at Xavier in 2023. Xavier's pitch is not the best. The zips need to step on their throats early and compete for 90 minutes. 3 points are a must on Saturday afternoon.
