  1. I have to agree with you Z.I.P. I watched Cameron's Portland Timbers of the USL 1st division several times last year on Fox Soccer Channel (I'm a Montreal Impact fan) and he played very well in those games.
  2. In agree for the most part, although I think I'd switch Can't and Miami. I suppose we'll find out more tomorrow on that. This does NOT change the fact that..........
  3. I sure do, skip-zip. That was the largest crowd I ever saw at a Zip game in the JAR. I believe the estimated attendance was around 8,000. The running track was pretty much filled with "SRO".It is puzzling to me that there seems to be a lot more students living on campus, yet hoop attendance remains fairly low. It kind of makes me reconsider (a little) the notion that the Info will be as well attended as I had first hoped, at least on the student side (although even at the Rubber Bowl, Rowdies seem to be better represented than in the JAR).
  4. I remember several big plays to the TE in the MACC in '05And unfortunately Kris Kasparek never really lived up to the promise he showed in that game, although a lot of it might go back to Dr Z's point about the spread not really emphasizing the TE position.Cruz no doubt wanted to play right away and that made an FCS school like Hofstra attractive. I'm sure they told him he'd be the next Marques Colston
  5. Agreed! I know he dropped a couple key passes last year (Can't, U@, but he looks like a great athlete out there. I'm not sure who would play TE if he left.
  6. My bad, Dr Z. I was confusing it with this one (link). Since, I've seen your high quality artwork in the past, I'll be looking forward to the new creation's release come MAC tourney time link
  7. This one's for Coach Dambrot.Have there been any efforts on the part of UA to institute an alternating home and home series with Cleveland State?Go Zips!
  8. Excellent Dr Z!!! I remember that one (I provided the inspiration). And ince we beat Niagara up there it would be a legitimate use of the graphic, too.
  9. I'll be stopping by after a pint or two of OBC's finest Right now, I'm thinking the Zips are due for a break-out game. And what better time to start than tonight PRE-OBC Prediction: Zips 72 Bulls 70 POST-OBC Prediction: Zips 79 Bulls 68Go Zips!!!!
  10. Sounds great, Cap'n! Any idea when this will begin?
  11. Tom Gaffney writes a nice piece on Jimmy Conyers in today's Beacon. It's almost east to forget that he didn't play a single minute in either the MAC or NIT tourneys last year.BJ Link
  12. Interesting stuff, RootforRoo44. Good luck in your inaugural campaign. If you post your home schedule on here, maybe some of us will have a look.
  13. Pretty good, final Miami 64, Akron 51Granted, that's a pretty good prediction. But there is a pretty big difference between a 64-51 loss in regulation, versus a 64-51 loss in OT.It's the old good news/bad news thing once again. Obviously it was a great effort to get it into OT against a program like Miami at there place, BUT the OT collapse was pretty disappointing as well. There's no time to dwell on it though. UB will be hungry for a W after a close loss at BG today. Zips need to get past the Bulls to keep the youngsters believing in themselves.
  14. Excellent news, Zeke's Momma! It look like the Tigers are starting to gel after running off 4 straight. Good luck against Gateway. Keep it up Zeke! I think the WPIAL Quad A will be up for grabs. It'd be nice to get a shot at some of those early season teams once again, this time with a well-oiled, Zeke-lead, Tiger machine! But of course, take 'em one at a time Go Zeke!Go Tigers!Go Zips!
  15. Roberts breaks out of a puzzling (to me anyway) slump with a nice game but it's not enough.MU 55UA 50
  16. I'm curious. Does anybody know if it's particularly unusual to have BOTH a varsity version and a clucb version of the same sport at one school? I also wonder how the two programs would interact, if at all. For instance, what facilities will be available to the club baseball team? Will the varsity program "scout" the club program for prospects? I assume the club program would play club teams from other schools (otherwise they's just call in intramural baseball, correct?).
  17. Excellent, gozips19! That's the way to use your...............
  18. Actually .. can't you have troughs AND have a clean, heated restroom?I've always felt that troughs made for a more efficient men's room .. from a throughput perspective. While the Carrier Dome is no spring chicken, her troughs are fabricated from neat and clean sheets of glorious stainless steel. It's a perfect marriage of form and function, one that I imagine Tim "the tool man" Taylor would heartily endorse :thumb:Oh, and Cap'n.....the fresh paint always gave me goose bumps too. Looking back, they probably should have opted for an "off white" instead of white though
  19. Nicely is apparently waiting for a possible ACC offer.Link
  20. He looks to be leaning towards Can't, although an Akron visit is supposedly in line.Link
  21. KD (at least for the record) still thinks Can't is the team to beat in the East, although he (like just about everyone) regards it as wide open with every team having a shot.BJ LinkUnfortunately, it also looks like Steward will be out for a little while longer
  22. Where? This Dec 18 post from Rocketfootball on HawkTalk It looks like Zipmeister was smelling something after all when he made his "backhanded compliment" comment on the Robinson thread.
  23. It won't be too long before I start to wax nostalgic for the troughs of yesteryear
  24. The lack of coverage totally sucks, but your fiery rage was first rate!
  25. Ball St. finishes off a horrendous MAC bowl season by getting blown out by Tulsa 45-13. Hint to the GMAC bowl: don't invite Tulsa to play a MAC opponent if you want a close contest It'll be curious to see how the poor finish by Nate Davis in particular affects the Cards next season. Did these last few games make it unlikely that he will come out early? Will the loss of Hoke be a big factor? Will Stan Parrish's BSU stint more closely resemble his years as HC at Marshall (he got the ball rolling for the Herd revival) or at Kansas St (he was the last in the line of remarkably UNsuccessful coaches there before Snyder)?
