I agree that we can't lose sight of the accomplishments of this year's squad. Hat's off to all of the players and coaches for an amazing effort all year long Maybe, JUST maybe, the trials and tribulations of this year's post-season will raise even greater awareness to the gem that we have right under our nose, right here at UA.I'm not sure if many caught Dambrot's post-game discussion with Frenchy after the FDU game last night, but he gave a wonderful account of just how greatly he respects Caleb and his program. If anyone had any lingering doubt about how deeply KD cares for the University, they would have done well to listen. It's terrific to have that sort of coaching camaraderie within the athletic department.

Ahhh, KD and the boys are putting an end to the "lost" weekend. It sure helps to be playing Fairly reDiculous University, who I greatly overestimated in previous posts. They look to be 2nd worst on the schedule behind Urbana. Still, it's nice to see the Zips doing what they need in playing good defense and laying down the hammer.

Has ANY coach in a major US sport, at the pro or collegiate level, been the head coach of BOTH teams that consitute a heated rivalry? Has there ever been a baseball manager who has lead both the Giants and the Dodgers, or the Yankees and the Red Sox? or the Redskins/Cowboys, Raiders/Chiefs, Celtics/Lakers, Auburn/Alabama, USC/UCLA, Duke/UNC? I was trying to remember the coaching hires that Mack has made since he's been the AD. I seem to recall a soccer thread a while back that indicated Caleb Porter was actually a Thomas hire. Can anyone confirm? If this is so, does this mean Jodi Kest, Chris Pfau and Ron Arenz are Mack's only hires at this point? I'd like to get a handle on how his hires have looked so far. After all, if we all felt that Mack has a good knack for hiring quality coaches, then that makes any decision to fire JD a whole lot easier in my opinion.

the next football excitement is when the season ticket holders for the Info get to go in and pick there seats...thats according to the ticket orifice...I am pretty curious as to what procedure they intend to use for this whole "pick your seat" thing. Does anyone have any insight?If its like at other new sports facilities, the season ticket purchasers show up on a given day and are told to pick any seats with a specific color tag. They are then turned loose and can choose from whatever seats still have the tags of the appropriate color. Once the tag is removed, the seat is off the market. I've never done it but I've heard its like a gold rush for the first people in the park.Sounds like fun. I can't wait. It's GOT to be more fun than listening to Frenchy call yet another Zip loss (regardless of sport) like I am right now.
