  1. Until RobotHAM speaks on Noah, we are just speculating.
  2. Get him and Cohill, that'd be great!
  3. I love seeing Mr. McKnight in the video, that man was an amazing individual. Dan Peters is in there, another wonderful person. What wonderful memories. Let's get after it tonight! Go Zips!
  4. My kiddo is there...he loves this camp and the soccer camp!
  5. Come on now, he's doing nothing more than setting the stage by saying "they should be in the NCAA Tournament." If they beat us, that gives him the argument they should have been in. It challenges his young team to show up. It also gives him an out if they lose. Their young team lost to the MAC Champs, a tournament caliber team...it would ease the loss to his players, the fans. If they give us a good game, it provides hope, a glimmer into next year. It's nothing more than manipulation. Sorry -- not buying what he's selling. Go Zips!
  6. Getting ready to buy my tickets. I'm going to try and get in sections 106 or 107. That's behind the visitors bench. Section 106, Row K
  7. Anyone going down tomorrow night for the game? Which section are people looking to sit in? Looks like tickets go on sale at 1:00 this afternoon.
  8. Brandon Council Offensive Lineman Tar Heel, NC 6-4, 340lbs http://www.bladenonline.com/brandon-council-signs-to-play-football-at-akron/
  9. I thought we should separate this out from the recruiting section because it was 14 pages long First signee that I have seen is: Trevor Brown Offensive Lineman Clinton, MD 6-5, 275lbs
  10. I thought the NIU freshman played very well. I still can't get over that at one point there were more fouls than field goals made about 10 minutes into the contest. Kwan looked very good. Still can't get over his post game press conference where he was blaming his struggles on not being in the gym enough...I was a little surprised by that comment. Great win!
  11. There are also two former Akron players on the Portland coaching staff -- Cameron Knowles and Pablo Morreira (sp?)
  12. The first STL goal was a sloppy ball in the box that we were unable to clear. The second goal a Zips player, who happened to be the last defender tried to beat a guy 1v1, slipped, lost the ball and STL forward made us pay. Two very uncharacteristic plays from the Zips that almost crushed us in the home opener. After that we dominated play.
  13. So was that Niko who was the ball of energy out there chasing people around and attacking up the left flank?
  14. I concur with GoZips. The speed up the flanks, the pressure on the opposition, the communication and just plain understanding of where to go during the attacks was phenomenal...thoroughly impressed. This was an amazing showing. Granted, you have to wonder how good Oakland is before we get ahead of ourselves but even with that in consideration, it's been a few years since I've seen soccer like that at UA. At about the 65th minute Akron subbed out all of their starters. The 2nd unit struggled at first, alot of badly timed runs, mispacled passes, definitely weren't in sync like the starters -- in fact the 2nd unit conceded the goal to Oakland about 5 minutes into the switch. Looking forward to catching another game as soon as the schedule allows.
  15. Has an official release of this year's recruiting class happened? We only know of 1, maybe 2 players -- right?
  16. She's deceptively fast because of those long strides and has some great on the ball instincts. Seems like a nice get for the Zips!
  17. Chapman is the starter and Pohl transfers Kincaide and Woodson battle for back-up.
  18. You're kidding right? EMU beat a team that lost to NJIT. KD has had equal or better wins THIS season!
  19. Early changes to this team from last year: Ball Movement is fantastic at this early stage of the season. The ball doesn't get passed down to the post and stay there. If the guy has no shot, it gets kicked back out and swung around to the open player. This hasn't happened in a while. It seems like we would dribble, dribble and dribble some more and sometimes the ball would get passed down and if it did, the shot was forced.Players are picking each other up off the floor. I never saw this over the past few years, where I always saw other teams doing this all the time. I didn't get it. Well now I do...chemistry, egos, etc... got in the way. In the past it has been a me first group, this group is clearly team first.I'm excited again about Zips Basketball! Looking forward to the Penn State game and beyond.
  20. Very impressed by the showing this past Sunday. The team played aggressively and was quick which was something that was lacking the last time I was able to attend. I never saw a player take more than 1-3 touches unless, of course, they were driving on the attack in a 1v1 situation. Even then, the most I counted was 5-6.
  21. Is it ESPN 3 only if you have TWC? That was my experience last year and I couldn't watch the games because they were blacked out.
  22. I would contact either George Van Horne (330-972-8255) or Anthony Henderson (330-972-7117) in Athletics. They are responsible for athletics fundraising.
  23. This is amazing news! Congrats and good luck!
  24. So back to Malcolm -- Did he go head-to-head with any D1 players this year that we know of? If so, how did he hold up and what was the outcome of the games?
