  1. 1) PN16 sounds WAY better than PN7. 2) For once im actually glad the team shop sucks. I was going to get a 16 jersey if i could have.
  2. What do you think the over/under is on how many total crimes his athletes will commit while he looks the other way?
  3. With the hype that surrounded Jimmy and the supposed skills he had, this season wasn't the surprising thing, it was the past 3 in which he hardly played. I have to think Dambrot is very stern when it comes to who fits into his system, obviously Jimmy wasn't what he wanted the last few years. What a waste.
  4. I agree....football should not be a part of TitleIX. Now that womens sports have taken a foothold they should just make all sports other than football even scholarships. Really what it comes down to is if there is a female equivalent of the sport. Football does not have one. Nearly every other sport does (i cannot think of any that do not) Why should football -- a sport played only by hot-headed males have an exception? That in itself is incredibly sexist! But more important -- how did the purpose of this thread -- to congratulate and support the UA Women's Tennis team, get diverted into an attack on gender equality? In no way is that sexist. The only thing sexist is requiring such rules that have schools cutting mens programs so that they can abide by title IX. Until football has an equal sport for women it should not be included in title 9. Same as if women had some sport that men didnt play i wouldn't think it would be either. TitleIX has served it's purpose and now it's created more problems than it's solving. Maybe a lot of you people are fine with government intervention into everything we do but i think that if schools want to give out equal scholarships then let them, if they dont, then let them do that too.
  5. Thank you! And yes Springside is much better than Hyre. Hopefully the girls can continue their run.
  6. I think they play somewhere in Stow. This is correct. They even have a nice link for the Zips on their website. LaTuchie Tennis Center Link That is their indoor facility. Are they not playing outdoor matches? If you go to the Akron Zips link at the La Tuchie site, the following statement is printed. Winter/Spring Schedule (Note: Matches may be moved outdoors if weather permits. Call the club on match days for location.) Yeah i see that, i was hoping someone just knew where they normally play outdoors these days.
  7. Post of the week....but yes singular not plural as someone else stated.

  9. So do they still play at Hyre for their home games? I was thinking of trying to organize some Rowdies to go out and show some support on saturday against the Canadians.
  10. haha EXACTLY. I was going to say option 3: LUCKY. He even gets away with not wearing anything too fruity. Also, I bet you the OU basketball players would have traded their Cleveland hotel roommates for his in a second
  11. Well can we find a "superman" at some Junior College somewhere then?
  12. I would say that the reason many of these prolific 3 point shooters at small schools get passed up by the bigger ones would be due to their height or quickness. So the idea that bigger/stronger/more skillful players would be an advantage of the Majors is not entirely true. There are plenty of 5'10"/6' tall slow white guys that get passed up by the big schools only to become heroes for one game in the NCAA tournament due to their 3 point expertise. That's why i also think that RACER's logic is right on to say that moving the line back (and lowering 3 point percentages obviously) would hurt small/MidMajor schools more than Majors. BTW, how about that Ali Farokhmanesh guy for Northern Iowa? Talk about clutch.
  13. What's your point? The 3-point shot is a part of the game. If that is what it takes to beat a team, it's legal. Who cares if it is the only way to beat a team that can't defend it? How did moving the line back hurt Butler? How'd it hurt Northern Iowa? How'd it hurt OU? How'd it affect Medlock or Kool's game? Moving the line back did absolutely nothing to hurt mid-major schools. Normally i agree with you Captain but i would have to think that smaller teams WOULD be negatively impacted by a further 3 point line and therefore lower 3 point percentages. I guess the other school of thought is that it spreads the floor more and helps them. But i can see where Racer is coming from. I love it. If you don't have the facts to test a theory, the theory is correct. Theories dont have to be based on any facts. No, but you need facts to test theories. Hey i dont have the time to go digging through stats. Feel free, i just think it makes lots of sense.

  16. Umm this isn't the pity party forum. It's an Akron Zips sports forum and Bassett possibly leaving to support his family is great news for Zips basketball (as well as an admirable thing for him to do). There is nothing pathetic about it.
  17. I didnt think anybody watched MSNBC considering it is the least watched cable news network by far. But man he got a few big upsets right. He missed Georgetown though haha He had to pick GTown cuz half the people in DC went there. Ohhhhh I thought it was just because he's an idiot.
  18. You are a genius....seriously that is a great setup.
  19. How much, though. Something trivial like $5k per school? Can't's sweet 16 credits are set to expire and unless OU can win their next game it still means a reduction in NCAA money. About $125,000 per school per round. The payout from the Elite Eight run expired a couple years ago. That's exactly what i'm talking about VMD. That's well worth it.

  21. The Browns argument is completely different but the Ohio State one makes some sense. I still just think it's good for the MAC to beat up on the big east, nothing wrong with showing that our 9 seed can beat on their conference runner up.
  22. try 14.5. Good thing I only put $0.50 on it. I wonder how many people picked OU in the pool? Maybe one or two in the entire country. I honestly did. haha Nah, you didn't. It's a fools bet. BUT the Cats +13.5 probably tempted a lot of people. I honestly need to provide proof? Of course, of all people i would think your love affair with DJ cooper with have had you picking them to win as well.
  23. LOL...Right. Duke deserved a 1-seed. Xavier probably deserved a 5-seed but only got a 6. But anyways, your talking about individual schools, and not conferences. The point is that these wins won't help MAC teams resumes come next March. The only way to do that is to win big OOC conference games in November-December. Do you go to Can't? Because you would have to be high as a Can't Stater to think that Duke deserved the 1 seed
