  1. Amen. Anxiously awaiting the email.
  2. Khadim Gueye would have had a puncher's chance in the poll.
  3. Game is at 1:30, on TNT!
  4. Garvin Clarke is the best 6 foot center in the history of Akron basketball, He clearly had the best handle and outside shot.
  5. I hope the game is later as 12:10 is probably undoable for old Clarkie.
  6. Rumor, and it is only a rumor, is 12:10.
  7. The Zips drew the 14 seed to face Creighton in Pittsburgh, the closest possible site. Creighton finished the season at 23-9 and tied for second in the Big East. As the number 2 seed in the Big East tournament, they lost in the quarterfinals to Providence, the number 7 seed. The Blue Jays have three guys that score 17 plus points a game. 6'7' senior guard Baylor Scheierman, a big lefty averages 18.4 ppg while also leading the team in rebounding at 9 rpg. 6'4" junior guard Trey Alexander averages 17.6 ppg. 7'1' center Ryan Kalkbrenner averages 17.1 ppg and 7.4 rpg. The hot rumor is that the game will be at 12:10 on Thursday.
  8. Beautiful, closest possible site.
  9. Putting them in a zone/taking them out of man also reduced the chances of a foul on a screen or switch.
  10. KD wins and is on his way to the dance.
  11. Exactly. Its primary draw is that it may be the last chance for many of us to see these kids together.
  12. Dream scenario- Marquette ends up a three and gets matched up with the Zips and the Zips get revenge on that smug disrespectful puke Shaka.
  13. I just saw a fun stat. NC State has won more games in United Center (DC) this season-5, than the home team Wizards- 4.
  14. First round sites: Brooklyn- 442 miles Charlotte- 479 miles Indianapolis- 299 miles Omaha- 819 miles Pittsburgh- 110 miles Salt Lake City- 1749- miles Memphis- 712- miles Spokane- 2151 miles Spokane here we come.
  15. In the spirit of the rivalry I have picked on Senderoff quite a bit over the years. I'm not impressed that he's the winningest coach in their history as he's also the longest tenured coach in their history, but from an objective viewpoint he generally has his kids ready to play and with rare exceptions his teams are always near the top of the MAC. This most recent run without a preseason All-MAC player and last season's freshman of the year to get within 5 seconds of a MAC championship was most impressive. As such, he's clearly been a successful coach worthy of some credit for his success. Groce says good things about him and if I'm willing to trust his judgment with the Zips I'm willing to trust his judgment on this topic. I will now return to my regularly scheduled program of referring to him as Mr. Pinky and making fun of him.
  16. The Ali foul is rivaled only by the foul he had called on him in the Ohio game.
  17. Tribble's foul shooting was pretty sketchy in the last month or so but it was super clutch when they needed it tonight.
  18. My bet is that we're headed to the farthest possible venue.
  19. Just wanted to point out that PCCC played it's best basketball of the season without the guy who proclaimed he was better than the preseason MAC MVP, regular season MAC MVP and MAC Tournament MVP.
  20. Here we go!!!!!!!!!!
  21. It would be nice for Sammy to get hot in the second half like last night.
  22. Okay Zips. 20 strong minutes left. Let's finish.
  23. Here's hoping for officials who call what they actually see as opposed to what they think they saw or anticipate seeing.
  24. Oh how sweet it would be to beat PCCC three times in 2 months. In the game at the JAR, the Zips put Ali on Sullinger early and his length seemed to bother him. When they shut down Insincere they came up with something to frustrate him, pressuring him early and making him go to his left. I wonder of we'll see a wrinkle tonight. The guy I am worrying about most is VonCameron Davis. He's become a better player than I imagined. He's a tough matchup for the Zips. He's developed an Ali type backdown yet can still shoot it fairly well from the outside. Hornbeak is playing fairly well but his backup is weak. I'd love to see him get in foul trouble early. Here's hoping Sammy picks up where he left off last night. No tired legs tonight boys. This could be the last college game of your life. No excuses.
  25. Phew. I can put off the 2023-2024 Zips Post-Mortem thread!
