  1. The Norse fell to 1-5 with a 79-64 loss to College of Charleston today.
  2. Yet it's nearly ten times the number that watches on Saturday. 🤷‍♂️
  3. Article on the rationale for the MAC playing on weeknights- https://www.wosu.org/sports/2024-11-26/mid-american-conference-football-goes-all-in-on-november-weeknights-for-the-tv-viewers
  4. Can't argue with that! Not sure how with that list you can pick Brimfield.
  5. It's a little sad that 4 wins is an improvement, but it is. I believe that was my prediction pre-season as I expected improvement but not huge improvement. If they can build on this they should be bowl eligible next year. That had to be high point in an otherwise awful week for Moorhead.
  6. He was going to PCCC. How good could he be. JUCO here I come. Another gem here- https://athlonsports.com/college/kent-state-golden-flashes/kent-state-roasted-winless-season-buffalo
  7. Another nice stand by the defense.
  8. They don't want to ruin their chance at a bowl if 90-100 teams drop out.
  9. How was it not an illegal man downfield when the QB receiver falls into an offensive lineman ten yards downfield?
  10. So what's the under/over for Toledo points in the first half of the 3rd quarter?
  11. Glad to see the Zips play with some energy. I'm sure it has been a rough week as JoMo's father passed away on the 20th.
  12. That was a hell of a start! The fans are going crazy. Both of them.
  13. I'm going to keep rooting for Dru as he is a Zip through and through. He walked into a tough situation with graduations and transfers and I'll wait to see what he can do over a couple of seasons with his own recruits before deeming his brief tenure at Duquesne a failure. I'll also not judge his decision to take on the challenge. There aren't many people who would pass up an opportunity at what is essentially a promotion to the top position in your organization.
  14. The word on the street is that they don't have a serviceable backup big and that they have a weak OOC schedule. Also, the teams they have lost to have just wanted it more.
  15. I sure hope. I am rooting for the kid. He's unfailingly polite and a real student athlete.
  16. Marvin Musiime-Kamali did a nice job of spelling Okonkwo after Amani went down today. I'm starting to worry a little about Jojo Harris. I really want him to be the next Xeyrius Williams but I'm a little afraid he could be the next Maishe Dailey.
  17. So good I won't fix it.
  18. He seems to have some natural talent but he does not appear to be in shape. Maybe it is his body type but right now he looks out of place, and now he looks out of the rotation. At the preseason reception, I initially though he might be one of the managers.
  19. The Zips get 9 days off before the Norse of Northern Kentucky come to the JAR on December 3rd. The Norse currently stand at 1-4 but have games against Bellarmine and College of Charleston before they head to Akron. The Norse record is deceiving as their 3 of their 4 losses are to Purdue, Cincinnati and Florida State. The Norse were predicted to finish 3rd in the Horizon League in the pre-season poll. 6'7" graduate student guard Trey Robinson and 6'5" senior guard Sam Vinson were naked to the Horizon pre-season first team. This far, 6'4 grad student Josh Dilling leads the Norse in scoring at 12 ppg. Vinson is scoring 10 ppg while Robinson, who was the Horizon DPOY last year, scores * per game while leading the team in rebounding at 6.8 rpg.
  20. Some highlights from Groce on the postgame: 1) It was the most complete game they played all year; 2) He wants to play FASTER!; 3) The defense took a step and was better and is now about average, but they need to make more steps yet; 4) As mentioned above, they hope Amani's injury is just a sprain and that he'll be back soon. Imaging tomorrow. You could see that Groce was occasionally frustrated by the slow pace Tavari was bringing the ball up the court at times today.
  21. The Hornets have some fight in them
  22. Like or dislike the schedule, the other three teams in this tournament would all compete in the MAC. This three days have been good for the Zips' growth.
  23. Now in a boot on the bench. Ugh.
  24. Amani on the trainer's table shoe and sock off. Injured ankle earlier.
