I agree that they could use a shakeup but I don't see it happening in game 31.

The Zips head off to Kalamazoo Friday night to face the Broncos and wrap up the regular season. The Broncos come into the game at 11-19/8-9. The Zips beat the Broncos 77-66 earlier in the season, outscoring them by 13 in the second half. 6’4” sophomore guard Seth Hubbard is the only Broncos plater than averages in the double digits in scoring at 14.3 ppg. The Broncos are first in the MAC in offensive rebounds with a rotation of some decent big men, which is likely to pose a challenge to the Zips after getting pounded on the boards by EMU Tuesday night.

By and large this team has lacked attention to detail since they headed out to James Madison and overall their play has been pretty mediocre. While they look good on paper they've repeatedly had issues with the "little stuff" like boxing out, losing guys on defense, lazy passes... They've also all too often not been physical enough. Here's hoping last night was the wakeup call they need.

He just has to chip him/bump him. They had 7 more offensive rebounds than the Zips. That's an across the board failure to block out when on defense, when you should have the advantage.

You can't get abused on the boards and consistently turn the ball over and expect to win, even against a bad team

I will admit that I had given up on Tribble ever becoming a better shooter and he sure as hell proved me wrong. Given what Groce has said about Greg over his time here concerning his basketball IQ, I hope he has some coaching in his future. I wouldn't mind seeing that at UA in some role. He could be to Groce what Dru Jr. is to KD.

Heck, I'd be happy for an occasional stoppage of play without eardrum damaging noise and the ability to talk to someone without screaming.

Yes, and Hankerson along with Castaneda helped Thornton to decide to come here. If I recall correctly, Hankerson was Thornton's roommate at some point.

I think with Groce how much you play comes down to matchups and how you did in practice that week. As such, there can always be surprises or changes.

I heard that in his streak last night Coit looked at Groce and said "that can be me in your uniform next year." There's likely a very simple reason for him not being in at those times and for his limited minutes- he's not showing it in practice. There are obviously other guys on the team team at his position that are showing the staff that they deserve those minutes. Nobody is replacing Tribble, Scott's a better defender and Thornton far better distributor. Tavari is certainly the most explosive of the bunch and I like the kid but Groce will put whoever he thinks is best in the moment in the game. Also, I wouldn't put too much on a 42 shot sample size. That's two more than Enrique.
