It's been quite a while!

There are lots of high 3 star players from P5 schools all over the portal. With our new and experienced coaching staff, I sure hope we can convince several of them to come to Akron. There are also some 4 star as well, but I'm not sure we can get any of them, but here's hoping!

I mentioned earlier in this thread that Moorhead made it sound like he already has all the assistants chosen, but it is merely a matter of HR procedures.

Maybe we can get a pipeline for recruits from St. Thomas Aquinas to Akron!

92.3 The Fan just had Moorhead on for an interview. He said a lot of the same things as he did in the Press Conference, but what stood out to me was that he was doing the interview from the parking lot of Hoban High School. Nice to see him over there already! My favorite part of this interview was when he said that wearing little slogans on shirts won't win football games. I hated that stupid "Our Way" crap.

Like getting the Wagon Wheel back, competing in and winning MAC Championships and gaining Bowl eligibility.

He said during the Press Conference that the full staff will be in place by January 2nd. It sounds like he has the people lined up, but he alluded to it really being a matter of HR finalization.

Sounds good to me. If I recall, many of our best players have come from there in the past.

I would prefer the Z logo and a "Chromed" helmet.

Obviously those two terrible performances in Florida really affected us.

Is there a press conference scheduled for today or one day this week to formally introduce Joe Moorhead, in person, as our new coach?

I'm looking forward to seeing our offense run under his guidance for sure. I guess what I am most excited about is the hope that, with his many coaching connections over the years, he will bring in a defensive coordinator that has the experience and determination to build a great defense here at Akron.

So far we are looking a little better offensively, but barely.

Finally! I think we've been patient long enough already. Seems like a real nice guy, but you have to win football games. His entire tenure looked way too much like Hugh Jackson with the Browns.

I like the second option better. It would be sort of a North/South split somewhat. Also, I am mainly looking forward to the possible addition primarily for basketball and because it will give us new matchups. I'm honestly sick of watching us play some of the current members over and over. Hopefully this will make some of those games less frequent.
